Passing through Sherwood park I saw B Glamor Nails. Being that my brothers wedding is on a few days…read moreI had to be quick with the mani pedi. I looked them up online and saw the price menu and thought that the pricing was pretty fair why not try it out? Called in and made an appointment for my sister and I for a mani pedi. Easy and fast we came in soon after. Massage chairs! You can't have a pedicure without the massage. The ladies here are very nice, gentle, and very meticulous. Did I mention how clean the salon is??? Cleanliness is very high on my list for being at a nail salon. While having my pedicure done I almost start to fall asleep. I very much enjoyed the hot stone massage on my legs, its very relaxing and new for me. And this was only the regular pedicure... I wonder what the upgrade would be like...? With the same Technician I was moved too have my manicure. I decided to get shellac because I need the French to last throughout the wedding. The French shellac looked amazing when she had finished! With steady hands she could paint the white tips fast and precise. My sister and I couldn't stop talking about what an wonderful experience we had with this nail salon. It's been awhile since we had such great time having our nails done together. We will definitely be back here soon and I highly recommend stopping by if you need a fast or slow relaxing mani pedi.

Netflix to entertain just loud enough to hear or you can close your eyes just to relax from the heavy grind from where you just came. This salon gives you two choices of scrubs, two choices of lotion to pick from and even the massage is with hot stones. And this was just the regular service pedicure! The lady who did my pedicure was so particular and detailed I just fell in love with the service. And the other lady who did my manicure was just the same way! I received a gel French tips with my own nails which were short in the first place but looked simple in a sophisticated way. The only criticism I had was the selection of nail colours which were limited in the lighter pastel collection. If you like bold and bright they have quite a few to choose from. The service was what I was impressed with and I will be back again.

Jenâs Nails is a little, non-descript esthetics shop in Sherwood Park I popped into on the weekend…read morebecause I couldnât get into my usual place to get my eyebrows waxed. It was a particularly slow day when I walked into the shop. It was empty, but for me and Jenâs work associate, Cindy. She was friendly and agreed to do my eyebrows at once. The shop is very plain, much like the rest of drive-thru mani-pedi places. They have a couple of pedicure chairs with foot baths and a manicure station, plus a back room for other body waxing services. She just had me sit down on a stool right there in the shop and waxed my brows. She used a Popsicle stick and wax that mustâve been heated a hundred times. Iâm not even sure the Popsicle stick was new. I watched as she reached for the tweezers and the scissors, to trim, and neither had been disinfected. They just want back into a little container afterwards. The cream she put on my eyelids afterwards was greasy, and stung briefly. Afterwards, upon looking in the mirror, I wasnât really impressed with the shaping. I just wanted a clean-up, but she managed to kill the shape that used to be there. I was totally unimpressed with this place. The price was $10, which I think a brow wax should be. But the quality was low, and she should have at least had me lie down on a bed, like most other places do. I will not go back.

I stopped in at Jenn's Nails to get a pedicure about a month ago as they are near my neighbourhood…read moreand convenient for location. The pedicure was okay and the polish lasted quite a long time. The technician was nice enough (although looked as though she had been working hard all day as kept stretching and twisting and grimacing in an effort to get more comfortable) and price was pretty good. What concerned me and ensures I will not go back is the following: While I was there I watched one of their technicians HAND WASH the towels used for services (pedicures - drying legs and feet off, manicures - resting hands and tools on, etc) in one of the FOOT BASINS of the pedicure chairs. For a business that deals with multiple personal hygiene situations (especially feet and natural bacteria and fungus on the skin), I would FULLY expect to see towels sanitized before reuse. There is no way they could have been sanitized in this process as the technician had bare hands and would not have been able to tolerate water hot enough or bleach strong enough to cleanse these towels properly. Thoroughly disappointed and felt slightly itchy afterwards at the thought that my pedicure may have been done with less than sanitary accessories. Don't go there!

I don't usually write a bad review unless I feel strongly about it. I booked an appointment for a…read morehybrid full set of lashes. I'd been to Posh a few times prior and although I wasn't super happy, it was the only place I could get in with hardly any notice. The girl did take the time to ask questions about the look I was going for. One thing I stressed was that in my last appointment I had a volume set (and paid way too much for it) and that I didn't want that again. This time, I was looking for a more natural look - hence the hybrid. She asked if the length was ok in the past, I agreed it wasn't too bad. I stressed I felt like the volume set was just too thick and a little too "young" for my age. At the beginning she did mention some of girls have started their fall shed so I can expect the same. She was giving lengthy explanations of what she was doing and reiterated she prefers I tell her if something wasn't right rather than not saying anything. She began the work but at the end when I held the mirror up I was so very disappointed. It looked exactly like she took a fake set out of the package at the local drug store and glued the strip to my eyelids. Horrible! That's not natural. They were so curled it looked like the tips were attached to my eyelids as well. That's not natural. They looked like they were perfectly cut across the top with a pair of scissors. That's not natural either. There were zero lashes in the corners. That's not natThey were so thick and dark and stiff and they almost looked blue in the sunlight. I immediately told her I didn't like them at all (remembering she'd prefer to hear that) Instead of listening to me, she got very defensive and kept holding up a piece of paper saying they did this length last time. Always something about last time. Again, I wanted a natural look therefore a hybrid because I didn't want it to look like last time. I kept giving very valid reasons why I didn't like them. She simply said do you want me to take them off for you? I had another appointment after and declined. It was very evident of my dissatisfaction but she didn't care. I paid the $183.75 and when paying she came over and offered to remove them and lucky me, she wasn't even going to charge me! I don't think I should have paid for them at all. If she's only going to refer to a piece of paper and negate everything I say, then why bother asking questions? After leaving, I sat in my vehicle and cancelled my next appointment. Called my old lash business I went to for years (quit going cause it was too far after I moved) and explained my situation and my lash expert I had been going to for 5 years made some arrangements to book me in the next day. I immediately went back into Posh - less than 5 minutes later and told the girl I wanted the lashes removed. I was embarrassed leaving with them. All of a sudden she wasn't available to remove them. Someone else did it and I couldn't get them off quick enough. Never again! Just because you give lengthy explanations doesn't make you an expert. And acting defensive when a customer isn't happy doesn't make you a professional. UPDATE - I just read the owners review and am very disappointed to see it's full of inaccuracies and lies. I was NEVER told the lashes were going to be a repeat of what was done in the past. Not once. I was asked if I was pleased with the length, I recalled I probably was. There was absolutely ZERO discussion about curl, extra fullness or any of the the other claims made by the owner. Furthermore, there was NEVER an offer to have the fee waived. NOT ONCE. I would have have gladly taken them up on their offer if they had. They NEVER offered to redo them either. This reaffirms their lack of professionalism and the lengths they'll go, to take responsibility. It was only after I declined an appointment for a fill (in what they insisted had to be within a 2 week period) staring "I won't be back" that the technician came over with an attitude and said if I didn't like them she'd remove them. As I said in my review, I declined due to another commitment. Certainly no offers of any kind were made to me prior to paying. FALSE, FALSE, FALSE. After going to my vehicle and making alternate arrangements with my commitment, I did return to immediately have the lashes removed. In that span of a few minutes, the technician rescinded her offer. She was NOT with another client. She was actually folding towels at her station. I will GLADLY be contacting you to have my money refunded.

It's very unfortunate that my second review is quite different then my first review…read more After I had a good experience with them I decided to go back to get a lash lift/lash perm and to use their apprentice tech to try out the services at a lower price. Unfortunately though I never got that far. I initially tried to book back in July/August but the availability was very limited (I was looking for evenings or weekends due to work schedule). I managed to make an appointment only to have it cancelled the day after I made it due to scheduling error. The receptionist then said she would call me back with an available time which never happened. I never ended up getting that phone call so I went somewhere else. I decided to give them another try and called them last week for the same appointment. The exact issue happened again....they couldn't find an available spot and said they would call me back. 5 days go by and no phone call but this time I decide to call them to follow up. The receptionist then begins to tell me that the staff that observes the apprentice has gone on maternity leave and can't get ahold of her to book the appointment. So after some back and forth finally I asked "does that mean that your no longer offering there services?" to which she says "yeah I guess." It was a struggle for me to get a straight answer from her. If they can't offer services they should inform the customer or at least not promise to call them and not follow through with it. The services they offer were good when I went but unfortunately I can't say the same thing for their customer services related to booking or follow through.
