Paid for an entire year's membership up front and two months later my son had to move home for medical reasons. We were told we would get a refund for the 10 months not used but after several phone calls, no return calls, and finally just being ghosted all together , still no refund. I was happy working out at VRTX fitness when I lived two blocks away. Then I moved near Blue Mountain and I'm a 2 minute drive to PEAK Wellness. It's basically on my street. I was really happy with Jack, my trainer, I considered him a friend. I sent him this text. This is word for word. Please excuse the typo. I was on a plane. "I'm sorry to say that these 29 and 30 will be our last sessions. I love training with you, it's been really great and I appreciate your expertise. I know myself and I don't want to have any excuses like being too tired to drive into down. I'm going to join Peak, which is literally a 2 minute drive from my front door or 15 minute walk. I had no idea what it was. I thought it was some hippie wellness center. I appreciate all you've done to get my started on the right track. I've been avoiding telling you because I've enjoyed our sessions and meeting you. It's really been helpful with my pain. But I need to take this more seriously and in order to do that I need to step up my cardio more and I don't see myself driving into down when I'm tired, and especially during the winter. I'll see you Thursday and Friday at 9am. I have one credit after Friday, could you refund that for me?" He then replied and said there were not refunds and that he was cancelling my sessions tomorrow and Friday. Here's his reply: "Hey Rick, I'm sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, there is a no refund policy for the training credits. Our trainers (myself included) really on those credits and hours to make a living. I wish you had told me this sooner (I just made the decision over the weekend) as I have been holding 3 hours long time slots a week for you. I enjoyed getting to know and was quite looking forward to working with you long term. I'm going to go ahead and cancel those remaining sessions we have so I can start with a new client. I hope the Peak works for you and you're able to achieve your goals. Hang in there and stick with process, good things will happen." Though this is a very nice email, his reaction to cancel our appointments that were scheduled and paid for was childish and not professional. It's stealing. So I called and spoke with the GM and told her the whole story and she profusely apologized and said she was going to talk to the owner Renee and get back to me. It was after 5pm and I had not heard back from her, so I called the front desk. They put Renee on the phone and I started to tell her the story and how I had called and that the GM said she was going to talk to her. And she said "yes." and there was a long long pause. I was shocked. She said, "I don't know what you want from me." I tried to continue the story and there were continued pauses of dead air from her and then she would interrupt and said I saw the text messages and read them all. Again, awkward pause. She said they would refund the sessions but said it was not standard to do so. I said he had no right to cancel my appointments and say I was not getting a refund. Again, she was dismissive and unforfestional. They basically said they were stealing and then backtracked because I said I would go to American Express and have them issue a charge back for fraud. I was so upset and her attitude and dismissive words and tone. That I asked again, so you're going to issue refunds for all three credits and she said yes. And went on this long tangent about important the health of Missoula is to her business. If it was that important, they wouldn't treat clients like they treated me. As they say it comes from the top and now I know why Jack felt it was appropriate to steal from me. I said you sound like a real (expletive) and hung up. I was infuriated not only that they were trying to steal from me but the dismissive attitude like it was nothing. Check out Peak Wellness Blue Mountain. I came to workout here while I was out of town, and I was able to keep my same routine without making too many changes. This gym has an area for some Olympic lifting (with quality Rogue men's AND women's bars) , standard squat racks, and room upstairs for more dynamic exercise. I LOVE that they built a wall for throws and tosses, this is usually the limiting factor when trying to follow my own program in a novel gym. The rooftop will be amazing in the summer, I can't wait to see what they have to offer. Since this gym changed ownership, you can really tell that a heavy amount of thought and planning has gone into developing this massive space into a down to earth health and wellness facility. For as much as a monthly membership and sign up fee cost here, I was hoping the gym would have more than 1 bench press and squat rack. It's a very clean facility but the lack of equipment is disappointing and it's spaced out randomly on different floors. I'll be switching to a different gym soon. read more

Ok facilities, but too many people sit around occupying things killing time on their phone and you could wait 25 minutes for access to a singular bench or machine. Not to mention they leave the doors open every day as if they want their electrical bill to be through the roof, and if you have any kind of allergies it's going to be UNBREATHABLE for the next two months while you're working out. It's so bad I have to wear my mask while I workout. read more

Nice staff, nice facility :) I like how it's never super crowded and the sauna is pheeeee-nom! The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is there's no towel hangers by the sauna...soooooo when I set my stuff down by the door or hang my extra towel on a shower hook while I'm in the sauna --- so I won't track sweat all over running back to my locker to grab a new towel since my sauna towel is wet --- someone ALWAYS grabs all my stuff and moves it or throws it on the floor...even if all the showers are open and there's only like 2 people in the entire locker room. What they get right: Ample free weights, re-stacked appropriately Well maintained machines (I have yet to discover anything out of order or functioning sub-par) Soap dispensers always full Clean facilities Well ventilated and clean smelling locker rooms Well ventilated gym Towel Service Lots of indoor space vs. how many people are in the gym at one time Pricing for short term visitors Stretching rooms with ample stretching paraphernalia (rubber bands, mats, foam rollers,...) Smoothie and coffee bar Friendly staff: I've been greeted by lots of friendly staff and some have even learned my name, even though I've only been in town a few days Steam Sauna Music without commercials!! Large classroom for workouts with an instructor (e.g. Body Pump, yoga) Entire ecosystems for kids Where they go above and beyond: Indoor running track Workout class room where you can choose to play a workout video from a large selection (e.g., yoga, Zumba, body pump) so you can pick your class on your own schedule :) -this is IN ADDITION to the existing, separate, and larger classroom with live trainers Large lockers with coded locks (so you don't need your own lock!) Rooftop area for hanging out Ample lounge seating in front area with WiFi There is also a climbing wall that is on a vertical treadmill contraption. I have never seen this successfully used, and I was unable to use it effectively. It felt jerky when it moved, and I really didn't much care for it. Perhaps it is designed for children? Personal Tastes: I mostly enjoy the music selection (some of it is dated but still good) They've been showing the Little League World Series while I've been in town... which I appreciate very much. When not playing the Little League World Series, the TVs are often tuned to Sports Talk Shows (not live sports). I don't mind sports re-cap shows (like SportsCenter where they show clips and results from the day), but sports talk shows make me want to scratch my brain out of my skull... they really are the bottom of the barrel for entertainment content for me, discussing all the ins and outs of trade deals, who should/shouldn't be playing in pre-season games, blah blah blah. I'd rather the TVs be tuned to live sports or TV shows with subtitles or a station showing grass growing in real time. Mysteriously, there are TVs above both urinals in the men's locker room. Right in your face. I think these TVs would better serve gym goers at other locations, where you might actually be able to watch them for a length of time. For example, move one to where the lockers are and move another to the area of the gym where most of the pulley system type machines are located. Thank you to everyone involved in the creation, management, maintenance, and staffing of 'The Source.' Love this gym and the improvements from new ownership. No more weird churchy dress code. The owner calls back if you have concerns. It's super clean and carries NA beer. Not stoked about hours but I'm sure it's a cost thing which I completely understand. read more

Industrial coolness design and the staff is ultra friendly. The lockers are spacious and clean. Plenty of parking. The music is mediocre. Music is a hard thing to please people with but do people really like to do squats to Footloose? This isn't a place for "body Nazis" and "fat shamers" but at the same time if you got it then flaunt it, which The Source doesn't want you to do with their Puritan clothing guidelines because they want to be the family friendly gym. My mom tells me what I should wear as an adult. The environment is asexual as a result. read more

Just an all around good fit for me.. Certainly enjoy the relaxed ,friendless of staff and the atten ion to being sure everything is operating properly . Plenty of cardio and a great variety of weight machines to accomplish my workout. Also the family atmosphere further creates a setting that many of my fellow excersizers and I appreciate. I am not happy with the customer service offered by the Source. I signed up for a new membership on August 27th and paid the $80 for new members ($50 registration and $30 first month). 6 days later I walked into the gym and saw a sign announcing a 5 year anniversary special for new members, no registration fee and $5 first month. Essentially, I paid $75 more because I signed up 6 days too soon. Feeling foolish, I reached out to the gym to see if they could do anything for me. I explained that I understood if they could not simply return the $75, but I asked if it would be possible to perhaps get a free month or two (just something to make me feel like I hadn't just thrown a bunch of money away). In the email, I explained that I am just a substitute teacher here in town and it would really help me if I could get a little something since I made the mistake of signing up 6 days too soon. They responded by saying that they would not do anything to help me, but that if I referred a friend to the gym I could get a free month. Obviously, since the gym did not seem to value me as a patron nor were they interested in supporting me as a community member, I have no interest in referring a friend. I waited a month, hoping that in time I would see their side of the situation, but I haven't been able to do so. I decided that a business that is this uninterested in valuing me as a patron is not one that I am interested in supporting, so I cancelled my membership. If this gym has helped you get into shape, that is awesome. My experience, though, was quite negative and I just hope moving forward that the Source reflects on their customer service practices. read more
