I have felt supported in my practice in ways no other yoga studio offers. There is a spirit of lifetime learning with an emphasis on strength, health and longevity. Was super excited to take the class, bought my pilates socks only to be rudely turned away by the guy about to teach the class. There was nothing online saying I needed to be there early if it's my first time at the studio(when I signed up for an intro class pack-should be posted) and I was treated so poorly and without any sympathy I will not be a return client. After online digging, it says theres a mandatory 15 minute intro under "policies". Would have been happy to comply if I'd known, hopefully they fix this for first time clients on the website or have kinder instructors to be given the information from.

Welp, I'm here to tell you that Main Street Pilates is as knowledgeable and as experienced as any reputable pilates gym in a metropolitan are. I typically get private classes from either Kirsten or Joy. Both of these instructors are very knowledgeable and both practice the traditional teachings of Joseph Pilates. The equipment MSP uses is also traditional equipment which I prefer over the newer bed versions, which I find to be too bulky and harder to move in thus making it harder to focus on specific body parts. The studio is immaculate, very clean. And they require that you use a mask inside which I prefer. They are located right above Habitat floral shop on Higgins.

I was only able to make it to two different workouts and both times I was half awake, but they were great! I've never been much of a TRX person and the two classes I took were perfect for introducing me into it. I took the black light boot camp class that was 30 minutes which was perfect to get a quick work out in, and then a 55 minute boot camp that wasn't black light. Just think, lots of burpees and trx moves. It's hidden in an alley, and downstairs in a basement which makes it a little hard to find, but once you find the alley the signage is really good to find this place. I moved to Missoula and checked out MUST and well, it was even BETTER than my old awesome gym because there were tires to flip, working bathrooms, filtered water and a cool area for stretching. Plus the aforementioned racks. No wait for a squat rack in the morning. Then the quarantine hit and the owner was cool enough to let us borrow equipment to stay in shape. It is cool that he did something for us, when his being closed was 100% not his fault. And FWIW, it is a very clean gym.
