To Whom It May Concern, My stay at the Vue at 3600 has been pleasant up until recently. The past couple of months The property is showing neglect I have been a longtime resident on this property, and I would like to report some problems that have been happening during my stay. I see residents leaving food out for cats, and it draws other animals to the property such as racoons, skunks, possums, ect.. I have seen a dead racoon at the entrance of the property for a couple of days and not picked up. I walk out early morning to take my trash out and seen a wolf or some type of dog scavenging around patios. It was either looking for food or hunting cats. I also hear cats fight and cry at night outside. All of the trash receptacles have been neglected and are over flowing constantly and smells verry bad especially now with the warmer weather out making lots of flies and maggots. I am unable to place my trach inside a bin of any sort and it is buried with trash on the ground and on top above the enclosure. (see attached) There is a lot of broken glass/screws,nails, every where including parking stalls (see attached) this is not good for anyone that walk outside with sandals, kids, or a vehicle tires on that regard especially if anyone has a pet. There has been stolen vehicles on the property including mine twice with an additional attempt. No security onsite and if there is there seem to never been any report of any findings. Security only takes a photo of the front office door and never patrol any breezeways or behind buildings as they sit in a vehicle and drive one lap around and leave. There are lights out through out the property, parking stalls, building, stairways, visitor spaces. and if they are not out they are flashing/blinking/flickering. this is a serious concern as I almost fell down a set of stairs at night where there is multiple lights out along a staircase (see Attached). The Maintenace shop leave wobbly wooden ramps out over a solid stair case (Trip hazard) (see attached). Flaggs are piled in the corner of the property as it seem they have no more room to dispose (see attached). Swimming pool is always closed (closed for over a year) as that is an amenity that each of us all pay for that we can not enjoy with access to BBQ.(see attached). Broken dumpster door leaning on the encloser and semi blocking a reserved parking space. (see attached). Dumpster left outside enclosure with trash blowing around when the wind picks up (see attached). Dog walk park/strip has feces (See attached). Broken laundry door that you can simply push open and does not close fully. See frame work as it is also damaged (see attached). My mother and sister has lived at this apartments about 10yrs. ago. These apartment complex has changed owners many times. Lately in the past year until present time, maintenance and office staff have been so rude and they're neglectful to any maintenance issues that happens in the apts. I can only assume that they're being neglectful on purpose so the older tenants leave and h they can then fix the apartment and rented out for more than what is now. I would suggest for anyone with issues living at those apartments to send out a claim to the renters right of the Contract Costa county . Or to seek out the main corporate property owner and submit a claim. read more

This Apartments SUCKS...they have had 3 owners in the past 5yrs and the maintenance people take their time to show up to your apartment and get your issue fix. Also, they disregard the fact that you pay RENT ON TIME yet when you run into problems there's no one there to help. This means problems with neighbors, animals loose, bugs/insects in your apartment, parking, water issues with having HOT/COLD WATER, washing your car and having no water running in the water hole, etc...Rent keeps going up with no upgrades to your apartment. no stars.... this apartment is going down quality and service wise... bought our own place and left this apartment for 6 years without late payments or issues on our end. reported some smoke smell and noise and nothing was done. the manager even responded that kids because of pandemic are affected. what about our rights as paying tenants. we work from home and entitled to our privacy. today, i got mail that most of my security deposit are being held. partly is for cleaning. lol, we paid $220 for deep cleaning on 11-28. tell me what your cleaners did if they really cleaned. i have receipt and will send to greystar. also, using neighbor video to take video of me while taking trash to trash bin since i was also cleaning just doesnt seem right. i am believer of karma... good or bad, it will eventually catch up on us based on how we treat others.... read more

I've lived here for one year and I have been waiting for a fire place cover so that I can enjoy my fireplace, which is the main attraction for me moving here, I am now on my 3rd Manger in the vue at 3600 asking again for a fireplace cover! When I first moved into this apartment I was blowed away by all the things that needed to be repaired . I am now dealing with overspray on my vehicle from the paint company who painted these apartments, this to has become a great headache as well!!! I can't give this place a 1 star I am so disappointed in the way things are being handled here !!! Considering It's such a cute place. 6months later its even worse. Do Tennants really matter today or is just the MONEY and the new constant flow over new investors???? read more

This place is a total dump. If you don't rent out highest floor you can hear your neighbors above day and nights if they're home . Foot steps sound like a pirate ship. The manager will look at you like you're and idiot for complaining and do nothing about it. New ultra rude a** offfice staff . I miss old PM Ashalic she get the job done politely and fast . Kids dribbling ball upstairs.... This is nightmare. Squeaking noise. Management should come and check on their tenants if the tenant complain about noise. Been here for 7 years and just now that noise are morning til night. we work from home. i called multiple times and nothing is done. today, i complained about kid dribbling something that sound like basketball and called office. the lady said she will notify but its been almost 1 hr and still the same dribbling noise... useless management. when you call for smoking, tobacco or noise complaints, management just keep posting warnings... my back porch is also a mess from small toys. we dont even go out at the back anymore to relax and clean to avoid from having something being drop from upstairs. rent at your own risk. read more

Cons: The apartments dont have enough parking spots, there's no AC so it gets soo hot, neighbors are very nosy and complain about every little thing you do but they also pick and choose who they wanna address with certain issues( favoritism), if you even breathe wrong some neighbors will snitch on you. pros: walking distance from many stores, clean community, fun get togethers at the pool, and a good handful of the people here are nice and welcoming read more

I've lived here for 13 years. Last summer there was a change in management and this place started going down hill. Horrible tenants that don't care they live in a community. Screaming, domestic violence, drug use in public areas, pool closed for no reason, no more security, property managers that never respond or are around to help. The dog poop and feeding the wild cats has gotten out of control. This place is cheap for a reason!!!! read more

I seriously wish I had listened to these reviews prior to moving in. First of all, my apartment looked as if it had never been inspected or anything prior to me moving in. It was dirty and several things needed fixing, and still need fixing 5 months later. The grounds are dirty. Every morning I see maintenance cleaning the parking lot but the breezeways are untouched. Office staff is horrible. Lupe is incredibly rude and impertinent, and has no clue what she is doing. The manager Dominique never responds to residents and you have to call multiple times, hoping that she is the one to answer in order to catch her. My bathrooms have a horrible smell, like sewage that will not go away, which was present when I moved in. Water pressure is terrible, and despite having two showers, I can't use both at the same time or the water goes cold. Whenever you turn on the water, the pipes make a very loud sound that shakes the apartment a bit and scares my kid. Just take my advice and don't do it. Im anxious to finish out my lease and be gone. read more

This is not the 1st or 2nd time this has been addressed to the office and the apartment management but keeps happening. I am not sure if this is just being ignored . I do not mind taking videos or pictures next time and file a formal complaint against the complex and the manager for the health risk of not doing anything to stop the smoking and the tobacco smell that goes through the non- smoking tenants like us. Now, it is actually worst since before, you just smell it through out bathroom and main room closet. Now, we cannot even sleep with windows open at night because you will smell tobacco and smoke usually starting midnight. I am not sure how they do their inspections but it is quite obvious nothing is being done to stop this. If they thought it is impossible to happen then they are wrong. Smoke smell and other nasty odors can seep and travel through ventilation and walls. If it is illegal to smoke throughout the property then they should impose the policy. If they want to legalize then do it so formally so those responsible tenants who just want to live in peace and be safe will have a choice. I moved here with my little one at the end of 2013, so far it is really quiet, I don't see a lot of people hanging around In the parking lot, which is a huge plus. I feel safe here, I'm a single mom, I work late hours and often come home around 3am. Each unit has an alarm system which adds another level of security. The grounds are pretty well kept, a little "tagging" here and there, the maintenance guys are good, they fix things quickly around here. I see mostly families and working class people around here, the staff was friendly and helped me get into my place quickly. The units are spacious, I have a 2 bed room 1 bath, the price is average for the bay area, not sure what the previous yelper was complaining about the price is worth the amenities. ..washer dryer, dish washer, walk in closet. The cabinets can use an up grade, which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 and also there is no where for my toddler to play outside since its a smaller complex. read more

So, I have been here almost three years. Sadly I am being priced out of the Bay area. The rent increases while my income decreases. My rent has gone up about $300 since I moved in. I am not sure if that is in line with other places around here, but I can't swing that cost anymore. As for the complex itself. Well, it's not bad. Nice community overall. I don't know my neighbors, but they are cordial. No drama or "hood" behavior from my experience. Fairly diverse community as well. More white folks have moved in recently. Plenty of parking for visitors. Clean grounds. The management has changed recently. With that came a bunch of visits from the new owners. I don't like having strangers in my home. The maintenance is fairly prompt. You have to remind them to come by sometimes, but they eventually get the job done. My apartment ain't nothin' special. Old cabinets and appliances. My electric stove frequently stopped working. My spouse and I use it quite frequently though. The fitness center is lame, but at least they have one. The suckiest change with the new management is that you have to pay a fee (about $35) to pay your rent online. WTF are they smoking! It used to be super convenient with the old system. I could split the rent payment online with another account. Now I have to transfer money into a single account and write a check. I hate having to go to the office, unless I'm picking up a package. They are pretty good about packages also. Never had one go missing. Always accounted for. I just hope these folks give me my deposit back. I will follow up and let you know. read more

I recently moved into the apartments here at the Vue about 8 mos ago and I must say that my experience here has been great! The complex is clean and very quiet! There is security at night which is always comforting when coming home late at night. I completed the application process with Karla and she is so sweet and helpful! She thoroughly explained all details of my contract and whenever I had questions she was quick to return my calls/emails. The manager Ahshalic is also very sweet and does well managing the property. She always makes sure the property is up to par and even on her days off she checks on her residents when she sees us around the property! Their maintenance team also does a great job and responds fast to service requests. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to rent! read more

After months of looking for a new place to live apartment search after apartment search on a time restraint I was able to call Summit at Hilltop my new home. The Office staff was extremely friendly and made the application process smooth and easy. Come move in day they already had my keys made and rental agreement ready to go. When I went to put in my first service request maintenance was over within 30 minutes to fix and had a great attitude. The location is very convenient easy freeway access and surrounded by everything you need. In passing whenever I see the staff Property Manager Ahshalic, Assistant Manager Danielle, Leasing Consultant Karla they always greet me with a smile and know name. She too is always pleasant and happy to help with any issues. Maintenance requests are always completed in a very short time. The last management co was ok but hard to deal with. I have been living here for about three years and I love it here very quiet, and convenience location close to freeway and shopping stores. the units are very spacious with walk in closets. I love all the upgrades the property is been having so far, in gym and swim pool. Management personnel are very professional and friendly. Karla, (assistant manager) she is one of the best she always has smile and very a pleasant to deal with also she is very helpful. Also Ahshalic (Property manager) is very nice and understanding, one of best manager this property has had since I been here. As well as maintenance personnel they always respond to emergencies in a fast and professional manner. DO NOT MOVE INTO THE SUMMIT!!!!!!!!! I've about had it with this dumb ass place! I've been here for a year and a couple months And now that they have new management which came in August it's gotten even worse where do I begin?! There's now field roaches in my apartment and I've heard of other tenants having the same problem! I've posted pictures of the field roaches I've found IN MY KITCHEN there's also baby field roaches that look like maggots that'll have you cleaning your kitchen every second! Who wants those things crawling around their food?! We'll you will if you move here!!! They sent the pest control people to my apartment and I found 2 field roaches crawling around when I got home. Let's not get started about the new management! They've been here for a month or so and are soooooooo unprofessional I hate dealing with them! The office is ALWAYS closed because they try to do their work without the tenants bothering them which is BS! I personally had to wait outside while the door was locked and the asst manager was talking on the phone looking at me wait outside! Once she got off the phone she finally opened the door and said "If this is gonna take long you have to come back tomorrow I got stuff to do before I leave at 5:30" Straight up unprofessional!!!!!! They make you wait for hours and talk to you so disrespectfully. If you want I can email you videos of the maggots and field roaches I have to deal with on the regular at the summit. I wasn't gonna write a review but after dealing with the unprofessional office management I just couldn't hold my tongue any longer! I've lived here three years and never has finding a park after 8pm been this stressful. I get off work at 10 pm and my husband gets off at 7pm. One of us isn't going to have a park when one arrives home after work. You ask the security where to park so you don't get towed and they tell you "I don't know but if you park in the red we may tow your vehicles." Okay? So where the hell do I park it's winter it's pouring rain, there are no near by parking lots to park. There is a bus stop parking lot across the way but you can't even park there over night, even if you could you'll have to walk five minutes in the pouring rain to get home. There is no rent control they raise the rent to unreasonable prices and they expect you to not get angry when they threaten to tow your car Almost every night but don't give you a solution to the parking problem. They currently have a listing for a $1350 a month apartment. I called on a Monday to come see it the following Saturday. On the phone, the woman seemed pretty disinterested and rude, but I decided to give it a chance anyway. We drove ALL the way from Orinda. From the moment I got there, the woman in the office was extremely rude to us. When we walked in, she didn't get up and shake our hands or say anything like "Oh, you must be here for the apartment we're showing!" No. She looked at us as if to say "what do you want?" Then bluntly asked me how much money I make in a year. Then she told me that I couldn't take the apartment unless I made less than a certain amount per year. I told her that she had five whole days to tell me this over the phone! She could have told me the moment I called to make an appointment! She started sputtering and making all these excuses. She said they have an offsite operator who may not know much about the apartment, and that's probably who I spoke to. But I swear I talked to this woman over the phone. Her blunt rudeness and monotone were unmistakable. She was just making excuses. To top it all off, she didn't let us use the bathroom in the office. Beware this place! read more

Although this place looks nice, it sucks. Been living here in a $1700 apartment that has termites, rot and continual maintenance I have to do my self due to the staff here. The security guards harass you if you decide to walk your dogs at midnight. The maintenance doesn't do its job, and if they do it is literally the cheapest and fastest way to fix things. Let's not even get into the huge rental agreement. I suggest not living here if you sincerely want some peace and have an upstairs neighbor with heavy feet, however the floor plans are spacious and the scenery is lovely. read more

There's NO PARKING. We are a two car household, we have one assigned parking space, we work in San Francisco so by the time we get home, there is no where to park, after a long day at work, it's so FRUSTRATING to come home to no where to park. It's also been difficult during the holiday's with family visiting, there are NO GUEST parking space for them. read more

I moved into this complex in January and have had absolutely zero problems thus far! The staff is incredibly kind and very helpful. Karla helped me decide to move into this complex without me ever seeing it in person. I was house hunting from NY when I found out I was being relocated for work, and the staff was able to answer any questions I had and actually sent me pictures of my unit once my deposit had been received. The pictures on the website are completely accurate to the complex itself. This place is just as gorgeous as it seems. And with an AWESOME new management staff in place, and updates to the pool, fitness center, and main office before summer, it's only going to get better! As far as the comments about roaches are concerned, I believe it to be a thing in the past. I moved in after the new management exterminated the entire complex and I haven't found a single fly or ant in my apartment, nevermind a roach of any kind. And if you do find anything wrong with your apartment, bugs or otherwise, they have staff on call during weekends/ after hours for emergencies and a team every day for the smaller stuff. The maintenance staff are kind and courteous, knowledgable about every aspect of the apartments, and great with my cat! The complex in general is very well lit, and I feel extremely safe in it as well, which was a HUGE priority to me. I'm a young female living alone, and I was concerned I'd feel unsafe. The addition of security alarms in every unit and night patrol is definitely a nice bonus. It also makes me feel safe that this complex has such a diversity in tenants. I see people of all ages and racial backgrounds including families every day. Everyone is kind and smiles and most people will even offer to help you carry something big and bulky if you look like you're struggling. I moved into the first of many newly renovated one bedrooms in the complex on the ground floor. I haven't had any complaints about neighbors, noise, or otherwise. My apartment has new carpets, paint, kicthen appliances, bathroom fixtures, and hardwood in the kicthen and bathroom. It's incredible. The storage space on the patios is also dry storage, which is a huge plus. I live ground level, and even after a rainstorm that flooded parts of downtown, all of my boxes and christmas decorations were still completely dry. I also love that we have package receiving. It takes the worry out of having to be home to make sure my new -insert here- isnt sitting outside, and I won't have to run to the post office to get it. A slip simply gets put in my box, and the main office staff is happy to give me my packages when I go looking for them. And if all that wasn't enough for you, this complex is in an INCREDIBLE location. A quick 3 minute drive (or 20 min walk if you'd rather) to a movie theatre, restaurants, grocery shopping, Target, clothes shopping BevMo, and more make it super easy to get anything you need very quickly. Also its a 2 minute walk to the Richmond Bus Terminal, which has 45 minute routes into downtown SF for commuters. And my personal favorite is the five minute drive to the Point Pinole Regional Shoreline. If you've never been there, GO. I don't know what else I can say about this complex other than I'm in love with it. The choice of where to live can be overwhlemingly difficult. I suggest cutting out the stress and seriously considering Summit at Hilltop. I don't ever want to leave. read more

Place is absolutely horrible, currently under new management and the office staff is very unprofessional and extremely rude. The rent will be increased ever year at the maximum rate of 10% I wouldn't doubt they raise it more through some loop hole or something. The interior is outdated and there's never anyone available to answer the phones or get help at the front office. It's almost a shame to treat people poorly once they are already tenants but either way I'm sure people will rent anyway. Note to self when searching again is to ask current renters of their experiences with the property staff and landlord. read more

This place used to be a really great and quiet place to live until Daniel became the manager, of which I believe is now gone. My lease came up for review, and I requested to look at a 2bd/2ba, he declined my request, despite being a good tenant, minding my own business and paying my rent on time religiously. After that, I had an incredibly loud tenant above, followed by neighbors who fought, called the police, threw TV's down the stairs from the THIRD Floor, and as someone else mentioned "field roaches" were an issue, my place was immaculate...I clean with bleach just about every other day....tons of people in the parking lot loud, and my nextdoor neighbor had been robbed, her window was smashed in. Only positive thing I can say is there's a maintenance guy by the name of Jeff, who's awesome....I know longer felt safe and moved on. If you decided to move...you've been warned... read more

As I always do, I entered the apartment complex parking lot with nerves. But as I walked in the building office, I was quickly greeted with a smile by Karla and Ahshalic at the front desk. Karla welcomed me with friendliness and profession, and asked how she could assist me. I told her I simply had questions about what the prerequisites were on the units, and what sizes they offered. She answered all of my questions with ease, and even gave me a tour around the office building. I was impressed with how clean and sophisticated the place looked. The entire staff always greats me with a smile when I walk into the office and is very helpful and quick to attend to any of our needs or problems that arise. Been living here now for 3 months. Overall the move was great and both Ahshalic and Karla are always available to answer any questions or concerns I may have and have been amazing through out (thank you girls :)). The property itself is super pleasant and have not had any trouble with anything so far and is always kept up. Nice and quiet, your own parking close to your apt and close to transportation (walking distance to express bus to SF or bus to BART) should you need to get into Berkeley, Oakland or SF (driving to SF, HA!). I moved here about 3 months ago, and I really like it here. I have one of the renovated units and it's beautiful! New carpet, new laminate hardwood flooring, fresh dove-gray walls, new kitchen appliances. Neighbors are quiet and respectful, and packages delivered to my door are safe when I'm away for a few days. The new gym is small but the equipment is great and there are like 5 tvs in there, seriously. One major plus to my unit is that is has a laundry and dryer inside. Those appliances are older, but still work fine. When I first moved in, right after renovations, a few things didn't work perfectly, but as soon as I put in my work orders, they were fixed. I never thought I'd live in Richmond, but I'll happily renew my lease when the time comes. read more
