Completely disgusting and appalled by what my wife experienced with Dr. Sass - please read about…read moreher experience with him: For those of you who are frustrated with the US healthcare system, and my fellow cancer fighting / mental illness fighting friends, this actually happened to me today. I've never felt so humiliated/angry/frustrated with a doctor. Since I have moved, I was trying to find a new primary care doctor nearby. Due to insurance issues (don't get me started on that), I need a new psychiatrist and meanwhile needed my psych meds refilled from a primary doc. My old primary doc in Philadelphia always did that with no issue. Also had a few minor health concerns I wanted to mention. I found a doc, set up an appointment for today. They said all new patients have to have a physical. I was fine with that. I had all of my medical records sent over from my primary doc in Philadelphia. I fasted from midnight as they requested in prep for the bloodwork. They took a urine sample, took 4 vials of blood (couldn't find a vein and poked me like 5 times), did an EKG, checked blood pressure. I filled out a load of paperwork. Then I waited. And waited. And waited to see the doctor. In a freezing cold room in a tiny hospital gown. About an hour later, he appears and tells me that he has a large practice and he can pick and choose patients, he doesn't have to take on new patients. He tells me he read through my "56 pages of medical records" and that I'm too "medically complicated" for him to take on as a new patient, due to my cancer history and my history of mental illness. He then goes even further by telling me he can't prescribe me any of my meds because I'm on "too many medications", and that taking me on as a patient would be too much of a legal risk for him. He said he didn't want to be held legally liable for prescribing me my meds or for taking me on as a patient. At this point, I was near tears. It felt like being rejected at a job interview! I asked him what he was going to do with my 4 vials of blood and urine sample and he said they will be discarding the samples and not running any of the lab tests. I'm ready to just go back to my doc in Philadelphia, it's worth the hour drive to me at this point. I wasted an entire morning on this appointment. Hours of my day, gone. Has anyone ever had such an experience of being rejected by a doctor for being too complicated/too much of a legal risk? I need to call tomorrow to make sure I'm not going to be billed for that useless appointment. The whole experience was so deflating.

As well I was getting confusing feedback on the possibility of cancer issues based on my symptoms. Post all of the confusion I contacted Paul Haser and he introduced me to Dr. Tomer Davidov Surgeon at RWJUH and I could tell by my first meeting with me that he had both profound experience and knowledge concerning Thyroid disease. Not only that but as he was examining my throat while training and intern and I felt like I was getting a through education on the thyroid and neck regions. I knew form that given his knowledge and how articulate he was with his hands that from that moment forward that I could trust Dr. Tomer Davidov. He told me that he would have to remove 1/2 of my thyroid (the right side) but that he thought he could save the other 1/2 (left side) and that that 1/2 could produce all the hormones my body needed post. Which was a relief as paying $100 a month for synthetic hormones for the rest of my life seemed daunting. Dr. Tomer Davidov didn't let me down as an intern that witnessed the February 26, 2010 surgery reported it was reported back to me he did an emasculate job. Not only did he meet the job of saving 1/2 of my thyroid when i went back on March 9, 2010 he found cancer in the biopsy and told me that "he thought he got it all". The post surgery reports that Dr. Tomer Davidov were incredible through and detailed as well grammatically perfect. His level of professionalism across the board is amazing. Today January 13, 2011 the other 1/2 of my thyroid is successfully producing the chemicals my body needs to function and as far as I know I'm cancer free. To me what Dr. Tomer Davidov possess which no physician can go without is a deep love of what he does combined with deeply caring about his patients. I cant recommend him highly enough. if your in need you can trust Dr. Tomer Davidov he is the "man for the job".

Dr. Tierney and Dr. Sokel are great doctors. I've been going to them since high school - so at…read moreleast 8 years. They've always been interested in what I'm doing outside of the office and genuinely seem to care. The downside is the wait. As with any general practitioner, there's a lot of patients. While your appointment is x:xx PM, you'll be waiting in the lobby for a bit. It's always been a packed waiting room when I went.

He is very professional, respectful, courteous and friendly. The medical staff is always professional, courteous and responsive. All of my appointments made have always been on time or within 5 minutes of the time appointment was for. Dr Platzman has been and will always be my primary physician even though I live in Florida now. When we return to visit our family and grandkids in NJ I still maintain my well being checkups as well as not feeling well visits. The Doctor is a 5 star recommendation for me!
