If you know me, you know I am OBESSESSED with Mozart, so naturally, this was a stop that I only in my dreams could I fullfill. I ended up getting fantastic seats, right up front! Buying tickets was a bit of an adventure, we got a discount card so we had to go the venue at a certain time in order to purchase. So be prepared for that. Otherwise, once we got the tickets, it was smooth sailing from there. The concert we got came with musicians dressed in period wear, and it was a quartet chamber ensemble. They also offer a piano recital as well. We even got a bonus piece at the end, but that might be something they do all the time. The musicians were very good and I loved the selection they chose. The final program number was Mozart (the bonus was Strauss? Schubert? I forget - one of those). There is also a short intermission where you can enjoy refreshments in the courtyard.

They were both less crowded and in better repair I think you have to go here, but it was very crowded when we went and it was being repaired- so it wasn't all that great to look at. But it's iconic and it's in the middle of town so you have to see it. And there's great shopping all around it.

The view was worth it though. It was pretty incredible to see the tile work in this gothic cathedral. We did a catacombs tour as well and that was totally worth it. Short tour if you are short on time, which in our case we were, so it was good for us. It was very interesting to learn about the history of the city and the cathedral as well. The guide also answered all our questions even though it was a short tour. I do wish we could have seen more rooms/chambers of the catacombs. I must also point out that the organ at this cathedral is HUGE!!

We purchased skip-the-line tickets via Viator and rented the self-guided audio headsets (I think they were around $5 each, maybe a little more). The collection of art is beautiful, spanning many different periods. Their most famous piece is Klimt's The Kiss. I'll be honest -- I didn't know much about Gustav Klimt before, but after seeing his work, I'm now a big fan. After touring the art museum, stroll through the vast gardens. They are beautiful, both in the front and back.

We purchased tickets to both the upper and lower houses to view the extensive art collections. If you like Gustav Klimt, this is where you will be able to see his most famous work The Kiss as well as some of his other paintings. It also houses paintings from Monet, and Van Gogh a magnificent Rodin sculpture.

The museum is divided into 6 sections - and numbered for your convenience to follow the path of Beethoven. The path begins with him leaving home for Vienna and then follows the progression of his career. It was an amazing bonding experience with people I've never seen or will ever see before. Just being in the same room with people sharing the same interest and love for such a legend, was truly humbling. We spent a couple of hours here and really enjoyed everything about it. There were some interactive elements and it was so cool getting to be in the same HOUSE that Mozart lived in and composed. 10/10 recommend if you're in Vienna, even if you don't know much about Mozart, it's something you'll walk our from feeling so rich.

It was interesting to see that this was where he lived. There were multiple rooms and displays with information about his life and career. While I enjoy classical music, I'm not terribly well-versed, though I'm sure Mozart nerds will enjoy exploring the rooms. Was able to walk through Mozarthaus under 1 hour. It's a short walk from St Stephen's Cathedral and easy to find with the help of Google Maps.

Dreamy, incredible and full of awe!…read more This gorgeous opera house is everything. We came here for Simon Boccanegra by Giuseppe Verdi. Disclaimer: I'm not heavy into opera or know a whole lot about them. However, this place was a WOW moment. Being in Vienna, the most incredible, historical, full of life, music and character, city in the world - a visit to the Opera House was needed. We are so glad we did! They have all kind of seat selections, balcony, floor and even standing for a more budget friendly approach. Our little balcony section was awesome though it had a heavily blocked view we were able to hear everything so clearly plus we had the little screens where you can follow along with the vocals. It was an unforgettable experience and so worth it if you're in Vienna visiting. You can also book tours and learn all about the history of the opera house which I think would be fascinating to learn.
