After seeing the photos that Aven Willow does, I knew that was exactly what I needed. I spoke with the photographer and owner, Jodie Jolly, and she explained the process. They do hair and makeup in her Downtown McKinney studio, which is in a cool, historic building. She recommended I bring 3 outfits and we discussed the color scheme. On the day of photos, I was really nervous. Jodie made me feel so relaxed and guided me through the poses and facial expressions. She played fun music in the background to set the mood and I felt so much more comfortable as we got to the second half of shooting. She takes her time, makes sure she got the right shots to get your message & speak to your brand. She scheduled the reveal for the following week. We met at her studio and she showed me the slideshow of the pictures. I was blown away at how fabulous they turned out. Before I went in, I was only going to buy 3 pictures, but I feel in love with too many and bought 10! This was such a fantastic experience and I would absolutely do it again the next time I need new branding photos. Aven Willow exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend you trying them out!

When my two friends and I signed up for her 40 over 40 experience we had high hopes for a once in a lifetime experience. And in September 2023 the session was just that. We happily paid a hefty sum for a large Portrait package with a lovely storage box included. After waiting months while being told that we were waiting on the box, we asked for the portraits and to receive the box when she received delivery of her shipment. I went by her studio and picked up the portraits. The portraits I was given appeared to be the ones that she had displayed at our "Reveal " saying they were samples when we made our selections. After many inquiries followed by excuses, she sent an email with a link to all of the original digital files, saying compensation for our patience. To date, we still have not received the box and my messages to her business, and to her personally, have been ignored. I feel obligated now to let others know that Jodie is a talented photographer with great sales skills who will take a hefty sum from your pocketbook and not deliver on promises. Oh, and that 40 over 40 book and the party to celebrate she promised? Beware! That never happens either. L ucy was very unprofessional during our communication. It would take several days for her to…read morerespond and it seemed as if she wanted me to work my availability around a trip she was taking. After sending several messages trying to find a compromise, she stopped responding. The next week she contacted me again. I expressed that I wouldn't feel comfortable with her because of her inability to communicate with me in a timely manner and her communication was lacking in professionalism. Her response was that I was not her client and therefore she didn't feel the need to get back to me as quickly. I was very confused by this, as I would never commit to a photo shoot with a photographer who isn't able to respond to me in a timely manner. This was family photo shoot that many of us were traveling to the Dallas area for. Our dates weren't flexible and it was important to me to find someone who could ensure that it would be a smooth process. All in all I felt Lucy was unable to provide time with the level of service I expect. Furthermore, after ending our conversation, she continued to harass me through text message until I asked her to stop. If you are planning to book a photographer please look elsewhere! I am not sure if this if her normal work ethic, if I had done something to offend her, or if she was having a bad week. Regardless of the reason, her attitude was very off putting and her professionalism was lacking.
