Waffle House in Bonifay, FL. Right off I-10 in north Florida. The place is a little hidden behind some tall pines so we found it after searching online. Once there, there were quite a few people which I assume must be locals. The service was stellar. That server was so sweet and kind, she made our morning so much nicer. My over easy eggs were a little too runny but the bacon, grits and toast were just right. The rest of the food was good and the coffee was great. I was surprised at how inexpensive this place is. Not sure if it's this particular location or all WH, since I haven't been to one in many years. The open kitchen area and counter make this feel like an old timey diner. I liked it a lot. A hidden gem, this WH is located just north of I-10 at Bonifay, on the right, behind a cluster of trees. Charlotte our server and all the other staff were friendly, polite and appeared to really enjoy working together. Hubby ordered an omelette (no longer on menu but can still be ordered) while I order a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich plate. The food was tasty and hot. Charlotte and the crew checked in throughout the meal. I truly hope I have another chance to visit again. If you're in the area, definitely give them a try! read more

My go to choices are either the patty melt or one of their egg and meat breakfast options. But for me the big allure here has always been their hash browns. You can get the hash browns topped with a variety of toppings, you can't go wrong with chili and cheese, but really it is whatever items talk to your heart. I guess you might find it odd that I have never had the waffles at a business where waffle is in their very name of the business but I am just not into the sweet type breakfasts. If you pass 8 pm and looking for food in this area, Waffle House is your best chance. I would said 80% of the restaurant close after 8 pm. Waffle House is only 24 hours in this area. We were here at 10:30pm. I have order two pork chop with sunny side up eggs and hash browns. I always instruct them make the hash browns crispy and have the pork chop burn a bit. I like the chop here since they are thin and easy to plate grilled. The hash browns was prepared to my order. I like the crispy edge with slightly over cook with crispy touch. Try it some time. The egg still have the yolk in liquid stage. Break it over the hash browns is perfect. The service here is good. At least I have a happy tummy fill with food before go to bed. I have been to Waffle House locations across the southeast since 1990. We go because we know exactly what to expect. When I order my usual, a chicken melt plate with hash browns scattered and smothered that's what I get. The Waffle House in Bonifay, FL has gone rogue. The chicken melt has no melt!! No cheese!!! The hash browns are not scattered. They did offer to fix it, but I would have had to walk back down a busy 4 lane with no sidewalk to get there. Luckily, I'm sure there will be a more consistent Waffle House at another exit. Therefore, keep drive through Bonifay if you are looking for your usual Waffle House. read more

I came in and sat down and there were only 5 other customers when I entered. No one spoke a word to me for the first 5 min I sat at the counter and finally someone took my drink order another 5 min later and a waitress emerged from the back and my order was taken. I was rushed through ordering. This visit does not exemplify the standards displayed by other Waffle House locations. This is my first and last trip here. My wife and I were on a trip back from Pensacola, FL and had to stop here because of our screaming baby in the car. The service wasn't too bad. It's a typical Waffle House. I ordered coffee and my waitress gave me plenty of creamer and coffee when I asked for it. Unfortunately I don't remember her name. I ordered the Texas Cheesesteak Patty melt with bacon and it was pretty decent. The bacon may have been slightly overcooked. I had hash browns and they were also pretty decent. My stepson ordered a waffle and then drenched the entire plate in syrup, so I can't honestly comment on his waffle. The food was decent. I travel a lot. I stop at a waffle house every chance I get. This one in Bonifay is the worst one ever. I've eaten there a total of four times and all four times the grits had huge dry lumps that were bigger than a tablespoon. I took a chance and stopped by last Saturday night and decided to try the steak. It was like shoe leather. Lots of wait staff but they were too busy visiting with each other to work. Order exactly as ordered. Strangely the one by my house can't do it the first time. Cooked but not burned food seems to be a specialty item these days. Grilled onions are a must (not steamed). The waitress was attentive with out being bothersome. Clean place also and the juke was easy to hear with out being overwhelmingly loud like some.
