Waffles (with pecans, of course), hash browns (peppered, obviously) and sausage. Yeah!

Caveat: any time I review a Waffle House it's likely going to be five stars. I absolutely love this place, and crave it all the time after leaving Texas for Michigan (where we, depressingly, have no Waffle House). This particular location is extra special though. We found it by accident while traveling through Ohio. While eating our kick ass waffles and hash browns, we looked out the window and saw a large, bizarre looking structure across the street. Turns out that's the Armstrong Air & Space Museum -- so we visited there too. All in all an unexpected and very cool surprise.

Probably the best Waffle House experience I've had, if I could pack this place up with all its management and employees and bring them to the 'ville that would be great. Service was spot on and that food was great! Stopped by around 12 midnight for a late night meal traveling back to louisville from Cedar Point. First thing that stood apart was that it was actually packed, most waffle houses are dead around this time. They were fairly staffed for the time of day, once again, that doesn't happen often. Our waitress kept my coffee cup full without asking which was nice, same for my water (I'm a fish). I ordered the Texas Bacon Patty Melt and it was made very well, it wasn't over cooked or under cooked just perfect. The hash browns were to die for, especially with a drizzle of mayonnaise. Once again it's a shame I'm so far from home otherwise I'd be visiting very often!

I have a soft spot in my heart for Waffle House so my boyfriend and I stopped in to this location before checking out the Armstrong museum. We got a double order of hash browns to split, a side of bacon, and a side of sausage. I ordered the hash browns covered and smothered but they only had cheese. They were delicious though! Hash browns at Waffle House have a different texture than typical hash browns and they're usually cooked perfectly. These weren't quite as crispy but they were greasy and delicious. The bacon was crispy and the sausage patties were flavorful. It was a nice treat as we never usually go to Waffle House! Service was quick and friendly. This location is convenient to the highway and has a good amount of parking. If you've been to one Waffle House you know what to expect. This one was about as clean as they usually are and food was being turned out quickly. I think it's fun to hear them expediting orders and calling out the different dishes. Nothing fancy but like their motto says, good food fast.

I was asking the people I work with there where are some good places to eat for lunch.I believe The Side Rail came out of nearly everyone's mouths.I arrived at the restaurant for a late lunch probably around 4:30 and the place was not too busy but had its share of patrons. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door with a hello and a smile.I chose to sit at the bar beings I was alone. The decor was very neat with a mix of local and railroad themed decorations. The alcoholic drinks included a large collection of various unique and flavorful drinks and cocktails. I enjoy a good hard cider but the one they had listed on tap had a strawberry flavoring. I mentioned my fondness of ciders but my lack of enjoying strawberry flavored drinks to the waitress/bartender and she immediately offered a sample. I was quite surprised how good it actually was.The menu definitely has a large selection of unique food and combinations especially burgers. I started with an appetizer of garlic cheeses curds. They came out quickly and were fresh, hot, and crispy just how I like them. The garlic flavor with the cheese curds was a great change from the normal cheese curds I'm used to with them even being in cubes.I had to try the burger with Peanut Butter and Jelly, the loaded fries, and Mac and cheese.I was really second guessing that ordering that choice was a good one but boy was I surprised. The burger was cooked perfectly.I will never understand how a burger with cheese, peanut butter,a fruit jam sauce, and even a egg actually not only worked together but was delicious. The loaded fries were crispy, cheesy, and the jalapeños were flavorful but not too hot.The Mac and cheese was also very delicious and very creamy.I will definitely be returning to try some of the other unique sandwiches and cocktails. The only regret I had was forgetting my leftovers in my truck when I got back to my hotel.

We really liked this place in downtown Sidney. It was different. On our way down I -75 traveling to…read moreDayton, we were looking for a place that was relatively quick, easily accessible and not too expensive. That usually means choosing a fast food chain location. These chains serve their purpose but aren't much fun. This place popped up on Yelp and turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. The location is a short drive off the highway into downtown Sidney, taking about 4 or 5 minutes to get there from Exit 92. It was located in a retro building on the main intersection in town cross corner from the County Courthouse. Approaching from the West on Court St., it looked a little divey. It looks more pleasantly vintage from the Ohio St. side, which is actually its storefront. Our visit to this place prompted me to do some quick research. The Spot has been in business for over 100 years, opening in 1907. A fire destroyed the original building in 1940 and according to the local paper, "the current Art Moderne-style building was completed in 1941 and still features its original white porcelain tile, mid-century neon sign and iconic diner layout." It truly has a retro feel inside, going more or less for a 1950s aura where you would not be surprised to see Richie Cunningham sitting at a booth drinking a malt. Although the jukebox is digital, the upgrades enacted by the new owners who took over last year generally seem to be spot on. While it looks retro, the infrastructure is in nice shape with a clean, tidy appearance. It's a pleasant place for a meal. The format is walk-up-and-order. The girl working the counter was polite and efficient. To be fair in context, however, we walked in around 6:45 PM on a Wednesday night an hour-and-a-quarter before closing. It was not at all busy when we entered with one party there finishing their meal and only two others who walked in before we left. Hence, efficiency would be expected with no other customers to be served, but I'll still note the good work. The food was up quickly without any issues. We sat in 1950s comfort to enjoy our meal. I had the Turkey Club. It was quite good. I ordered mine with Onion Rings as my wife wanted to split these with me. She had the Swiss Lad sandwich, which she said was also very tasty. We split an Iced Tea which was likewise quite good. With everything, we spent $25.48 for dinner. At less than $13 per person, I was happy with that value. We'll certainly look for this place again when we are passing through Sidney.

Loved the sign that said "Table of Champions" I always like it when a restaurant recognizes their customers and appreciates them. We will be back, plan on going up to Sidney again next week.
