I live locally so I wanted to support locally...the first time was a miss, the groomer doesn't seem to be experienced and doesn't seem sure of what to do. I figured I'd try again, this time 6 weeks later..no lapse in time, we were early coming in for the visit so we had to come back in 20 min big inconvenience, we did and then they weren't ready for the appointment, the groomer seemed frustrated and my dogs must've felt it cause they wouldn't go with her, never been a problem when going to the groomers, I asked her if this was a good time if not we could rebook. She went on to say she's been having a rough day, but it was ok. I left them said she's call when they were ready we'll I dropped them off at 2:30 and it was now 6 so I went over there the clerk said she was having issues because of how the day was going and could I come back in 40 minutes which was closing time. I sadi ok. When I came back in was 5 min to close and my animals weren't ready yet. They brought out 2 dogs which had on the wrong harnest, I waited another 15 mins for them to bring out my other dogs, they were ready to go and it was closing time. So I left, I live in apartments very close, 5 mins maybe. When I walked in my apartment my dog i waited for the longest was limping and there was blood drops everywhere on the floor and furniture. I picked her up to see where it was coming from, it was her toe, half of her toe was clipped and bleeding, this has never happened to any of my animals. I called back over to see what happened and why they hadn't made me aware? The clerk proceeded to argue with me and everything short of calling me a liar. Then said it happened because my dogs toenails were too long, they just groomed her 6 weeks prior no long lapse in grooming. All along while I waited for them they had to try to get the bleeding under control before giving her to me. She then proceeded to tell me I can come back over and buy some medication for the bleeding they caused! I asked when the owner would be in, she proceeded to say the owner only comes in for 15 30 maybe an hour at a time and staff never knows she can try to pass a message. Wag has been a life saver with my two cats who REFUSE to let us trim their nails at home. It's $15 a cat to get all four feet trimmed and they are so fast. My chill cat is out in 2 minutes and my squirmy one is out in 3. They've never hurt them or made their nails bleed or anything like that. $15 every few weeks is so worth the girls having soft feet and not having to go through the battle of trimming them at home. Also the staff is so kind. The person working the register every time I am there is so sweet and helpful. The groomer is gentle with them and takes great care of them. Aside from the general stress of taking my cats out of the house, they are treated great at Wag and the staff is calm and gentle and work to keep the cats safe and calm. They've also got a fun selection of toys, snacks, food, and accessories (if you're lucky enough to have a pet that will wear them ). I totally recommend and will continue bringing my girls here until they give me a reason not to (which I don't foresee). I cannot vouch for the other grooming they do because I've only had my cat's nails done, no other services yet. read more

I have taken my dog to wag a couple times before and her haircut has been fine. I am also usually not picky over my doggies haircuts but this is unacceptable. This time I took her, they ruined her. She is a Maltese poodle mix and came out looking like a chihuahua. Had they been able to cut more off, I'm sure they would've. I am outraged. My Sofi is 13 years old and has never had an issue with any groomer she's been at. Oftentimes I'm told she is very sweet and easy to work with. I did not receive any complaints about her behavior today yet she came out with this kind of haircut (pictures below). There are patches everywhere. My boyfriend explicitly told the groomer to leave her ears alone and only cut a bit around her face. TELL ME WHY MY DOG CAME OUT WITH BARELY ANY FUR. My boyfriend was furious and did not pay for this haircut. We will not be going back. And just wanted to mention, she did NOT have ANY MATTING at all. There is no excuse as to why they cut her this short. The business owner needs to pay attention to who they hire and make sure they know how to follow proper instructions. The photos below include how she looked JUST A WEEK before her haircut compared to now. (As you can see the length is not bad at all.) PS: owner reached out and only cared about the money. She said it was our fault as her staff had told us it would be short. That is not the case. We wanted a trim and Eryn (owner) says we wanted it short. What a welcoming space! Located on an adorable strip of Wag, Green Street Cycles, and Muglife Coffee on 25th and Harney, I was drawn in from the cute signage visible from the street. Wag does grooming and pet services and also carries some unique and non-wholesaler brands of food, treats, and dog/cat accessories. They gave me some samples of food to try with my puppy, which is a first for me at any pet store.I think the owner was sweet and knowledgeable about dogs and their diets. I'll definitely be back for the unique treats they have and the all natural food. They have brands that you may not be able to find elsewhere and provide alternative ways to feed your pets other than kibble and wet food (I saw this dried meat stuff that you just add hot water??). If you're obsessed about your tail wagging friend like me and want to see all the options that are available for him/her in terms of health and food, certainly check this place out. read more

I like to get the latter because of our wood floors. Then the dog isn't slipping and sliding around. I called Wag and set up an appointment with Ashley during COVID-19. $160+ to shave a 40lb dog (not including tip)! Extremely expensive and since they charge by the hour there's no clear way to tell how much it will cost. I will admit his undercoat was starting to get matted and nails were long but they usually are when I've taken him to previous groomers and was charged around $70-$80! When I went to pick him up she said, "he might be ready but sometimes she likes to sit and talk to the dogs for awhile to make them comfortable and calm them down". We have a very energetic 2 year old Wheaten. We have visited Wag a few times and have been satisfied with our service and the final hair cut. We feel our dog is treated well here because when we walk up to the door he is instantly excited to go in. And when we pick him up he is happy and quite dapper. We have not purchased anything from the shop but there are some cool looking items. Their natural food choices look great. When we take our 57 lb Wheaten in he really wants to play with the little dogs that are there to be groomed. They do a good job at keep by everyone separated. I think this is one of the cutest little pet stores I have been to in a while! You first walk in and it feels like you're in nature with the decor they have at this store. Wag sells many different types of pet foods here for dogs and cats. This is only store I have ever seen carry Wysong pet foods too, as for the longest time I could only find sites that said they only had it in Canada. The other pet foods Wag sells are all natural and not every one of them is carried in a petco. Wag also sells many different pet toys, pet treats, leashes, and collars too. Not a lot of stuff, though, where you feel overwhelmed and can't make a decision as to what to buy for your beloved pet! The ladies that work at this store (I have encountered two) are very friendly and helpful! They are always asking if you're doing okay or need help finding anything. Rocky and I can't totally wag about Wag, but after the loss of our beloved Three Dog Bakery, it does the job. Rocky is a dog and doesn't really care about supporting local businesses, but I do. Wag has a pretty sparse selection of products, but what they do have is quality. The handful of times that I've visited, it's just been to pick up dog food, so I haven't browsed very much. I have seen the staff interact with other customers, and they seem to be very informed about the products their carry. Our family has tried so hard to bring our business to independent businesses, but we no longer feel comfortable with the grooming aspect of this establishment. The turnover seems high for dog groomers (for whatever reason). The previous time before the last, the groomer rushed the job, got soap in our dog's eyes (and didn't mention it to me when I picked her up), and cut off the hair that is supposed to stay over her eyes (it protects the breed's sensitive eyes), after giving very explicit directions. The owner is great and we like and respect her a great deal, but the groomers lack skills that are important. My wife recently called and spoke with an employee. The employee yelled at my wife and stated that over time, we have voiced too many complaints (soap in the eyes, cutting off bangs [after letting the groomer how important it was to her vision that they be left. If it was done correctly, no complaint would follow]. The employee was impolite and escalated the conversation to an unprofessional level. We will be using a different groomer from now on. read more

I fostered kittens for a year with this business. I paid for the food, litter and was never told they would supply it.. I was able to place 6 of the kittens. I had three that were never adopted. Wag didn't contact me during this time, although they had my number. They only became concerned when they contacted my friend who rescues, within the last couple of weeks. Then I was told I wasn't fit to foster. They ordered me to bring them back and I did. I wasn't happy and yelled when on the phone with them, but apologized as soon as I walked into Wag. But that was all unheard because of the screaming of an employee, named Ronell, there. It was ugly, and I'm not going to say I was perfect, because no one wants to be screamed at and not made to get a word in edgewise. I am not sure she should work around animals, with that temper. Very nonbusiness like. I will never foster again. This was just too traumatic. Extremely pleased with this business! Took our dog Molli in to be groomed, as we couldn't get her in anywhere else on such short notice. The woman who answered the phone (extremely pleasant but her name escapes me, maybe someone can give her a shoutout!) worked hard to fit us in on such short notice. This was our first clue that this place cares about their clients. The decor is adorable, and the staff is kind and knowledgeable. Eryn, the owner, gave me lots of training and dietary tips while I shopped around and waited for my dog to be finished grooming. It's clear that the people that work here love animals! Tara, the groomer, did the most exceptional job grooming our little girl that we will not being going anywhere else in town. And to top it all off, they work with local animal shelters as big advocates for rescuing. Who can beat that?
