I highly recommend Wag'n Tails Ranch for your dog's boarding or day care needs. I had a very injured senior rescued border collie, Pearl, when I first discovered Wag'n Tail. Pearl took several prescriptions medications a day, as well as several supplements. Due to her injuries, she was not able to run and often needed help getting up +/or walking. My job required me (then) to go on 3-4 overnight trips a yearfor 4-5 days each. For various reasons, I could not have a person come to the house for her care while I was out of town. All of the other places I called would not take her due to her medication schedule and mobility issues. Wag'n Tail not only took her but made her feel comfortable, safe and loved. Pearl passed in 2022. However, my two new Aussie pups, both rescued, also had a rough start. Because of this, they were even more very anxious than a typical Aussie. Plus, they were greatly in need of socialization when they first arrived in 2023. Wag'n Tail was/is very accommodating to them and has really helped them. The facilities here are FAR superior to any of the kennels/day cares in the Wichita KS area. The location makes it also much safer place for them, I think. Some of the kennels in the Wichita area will give your dog a walk during their stay. However, if the dog escapes their dog walker, they are in high traffic areas. This is not true at Wag'n Tail. ALL of my pups, being highly intelligent herding dogs, knew/know how to ditch a leash and a walker if they want. I live in the College Hill area of Wichita. So, yes, Wag'n Tail is an drive for taking my kids to day care!! (It really is not out of the way for boarding, as I typically fly out of Wichita ICT airport). However, I have had rescued dogs for over 25 years. I have tried most of the available competition at one time or another. Wag'n Tail Ranch really IS the best. I left 2 dogs there when I went to Hawaii, and the dogs did great! I've had one of them in a kennel before elsewhere, and he came back skinny and hoarse like he just barked the whole 9 days. But this time, they were well fed and healthy. The manager is great with handling strong breeds and the dogs were perfectly happy when we picked them up. They even smelled nice! I used to kennel my dogs here and it's decent enough as far as kennels go but it's all about customer service these days. There is to much competition in all business for customer service to be ignored. To be fair our dogs were never mistreated here and were always healthy and happy when we picked them up. We had to leave town on a days notice for 3 days. I called to see if there was room and there was. As we were pulling everything together time was slipping away and they closed at 1pm. I called to ask them if it was OK if I was 15 minutes late. It wasn't. She told me they were closed at 1pm and that was that. I don't blame her for wanting to finish work on time, don't we all, but "it's all about customer service" these days. read more

Wag'en Tails is the only boarding facility we use other than my pet loving niece's home. Our two dogs always go without protest and when we return they are happy to see us but not frantic. They come home contented and relaxed from their vacation. I have used this place for years and the experience is always positive. The one time we had to use another facility that is frequently recommended, the experience was quite different. That time our dogs came home and acted insecure, traumatized, and dehydrated for days! Never again! We will only use Wag'en Tails from now on. The staff seem to really like our dogs and they keep good records. One staff member, Toby, is a particular favorite of ours and the dogs. Toby always greets them by name and it is obvious from conversations with him that he knows their individual preferences and tendencies. read more

Wag'en Tail ranch has always been my favorite place to board my dogs. I have hairless terriers and they always make sure they are warm in the winter and have their sunscreen in the summer. My dogs love the doggy park and indoor pool that the facility has. The manager and workers are always so sweet and genuinely happy to see us and our dogs and I feel secure leaving my dogs there. I have often received messages about how they are doing and always get a report card that tells me how they did! Highly reccomend this place!!! read more
