I feel an obligation that whenever I give a bad review, that it not only explicitly explain why,…read morebut also provide useful information to prospective customers. In my three visits to this establishment, I have left feeling frustrated for lack of attentiveness and incredibly slow service. So much so that my last visit, I left without buying a thing. Perhaps it's because they insist on Family members as employees and they're simply out of them? But it's not only the lack of servers behind the counter, it's their efficiency that lacks too. I've been to countless European delis over the years and have seen how they should be run. Think Bloor West Village's delis or even Starsky's large-scale machine. The take-a-number tags are not in an obvious location. They're sort of hidden on the counter among pickle and mustard jars. The last time I was there, I had forgotten this and whilst looking for them, another customer came in and yoinked what would have been my spot. The meat I've purchased here in the past has been good. Not great. Also, the prices are not particularly good either. The bacon that everyone refers to is good at best. Nothing special whatsoever. Again, Bloor West Village's shops are far superior at bacon makin'. Lastly, and hopefully useful to some... I'm a BBQ nut. I mean ribs, brisket, pulled pork shoulder, etc. and not just grilling. This butcher is not suitable for people looking to purchase meats for BBQ. This is a European butcher with pork loin, chops, and a bunch of cured meats such as bacon, hams and sausages, some chicken and a few beef options. I don't like to mention other shop names in my reviews but there are plenty of better butchers than this North of Evans Ave.

They also do bbq lamb which is equally amazing ( but I prefer the pork.as I'm a fat addict)..you have to hurry and get there before the end of they day as it sells out quick, then you've got to wait a whole week to get your fix

I've been buying this olive oil for a long time and never had a problem before. I even recommended…read moreit to others. But recently, I bought a bottle, and when I used it in my cooking, the food came out tasting awful. I tasted the oil on its own and realized it had a strange, old, off taste -- something clearly wasn't right. It might've been expired or gone bad somehow, even though I had just bought it from the store. So I did what any reasonable customer would do -- I called the number listed on the bottle: Pristine Promotions Ltd. in Toronto (416‑259‑3737). What happened next was extremely disappointing. Instead of listening to my concern, the man who answered immediately got defensive, started talking over me, and insisted his product is "number one" and that they "never have problems." He wouldn't let me explain my issue. I told him I live in London, Ontario, and I asked if there was a way to send the bottle back -- maybe a shipping label or return option, since it was clearly defective. But he refused. He was rude, aggressive, and unprofessional, saying it wasn't his problem and that I'd have to drive it back to Toronto myself. When I calmly said this isn't good customer service and that I might leave a review, he mocked me and said: "Go ahead. Leave whatever review you want." This is not how a food company should treat a loyal customer who simply received a bad product and tried to handle it respectfully. Businesses that stand behind their products know how to handle issues with basic courtesy, responsibility, and respect. Sadly, this was the opposite. I won't be buying from them again, not because of the olive oil -- but because of how they chose to handle a real concern. That tells me everything I need to know.
