After being strung along by other contractors for SIX MONTHS ("oh, the weather isn't good for working on garages" or "oh maybe there is a missing part and I can't do it") I was shocked by how competent and quickly Bill got this job done and for a very reasonable price. In fact he had to rip out the work done by the previous two contractors. I really wish I had found Fowler Garage Door Service from the very beginning. If I had 12 more garage doors, I would hire Bill to do all 12 of them. Hannah was able to get a very quick turnaround on getting the work done, and within a week, they installed the quietest, nicest garage door and opened that I have ever seen. I was standing in my laundry room and heard a huge crash and did not know where it came from. Came to find out - when I couldn't park in the garage and started messing around trying to get it to open. A sticker on the door gave me the name and phone number of the original installer back in 2011 - Renner Garage Door. I called - after hours - and they took my information. Spoke with Veronica first thing this morning...she put me on a brief hold and came back on the line to say her repairman, John, would work me into his schedule and be out some time in the afternoon. I live in the city of STL - where car thefts and break-ins occur regularly for cars parked on the street - so I really appreciated the prompt response time. John arrived earlier than expected. He walked in, looked at it and immediately knew my spring was broken. He had it working within 20 minutes of arrival, and as he worked he answered my myriad of questions along the way. Last night, when I was going through the paperwork left attached to the garage door when it was installed - I discovered that part of the maintenance of owning a garage door is to oil the metal parts - periodically. John said annually is good. I had never known this - and I share it now, for other homeowners who may not be aware. My door is working better than it has in my recent experience. Much quieter and smoother opening and closing. So happy - and the price I paid was fair considering the speed of response and the improvement in the functioning of the door.
