I explained the situation to Response Crew and I was relieved to receive reassurances from the manager of Response Crew that he'd send one of his best door guys out and that we would not be disappointed. The manager also called back twice to make sure we were happy with the job. Although I missed those voice messages I figure posting about my experience here will make up for that. It's always tough when you are trying to hang a new door on an old frame that may not be perfectly straight anymore. And yes only time will tell if the fit holds. But I will say that even if we do have another problem in the future, I know where to go - Response Crew is a no brainer and for sure I'll be a repeat customer for future needs!

My poor shoulders literally got scratched walking through. Daren and Dave performed the following projects: widened the small doorway and fixed shoddy prior work, patched 8 electrical cut out boxes (old cable/lan lines/tv hidden wire boxes), ceiling light move hole patched, big 10x20" cutout from a plumbing project, float out old drywall repair that had a big vertical seam. He was highly skilled and at all of the patches, the framing and sheetrock installation/mudding/taping/texture spraying. I appreciated how quickly Daren worked and the quality of every job. A lot of the work was detailed but also technical in terms of fixing that doorway. He nailed it. In addition, he arrived promptly at 7:00am each day as promised, did an immaculate job taping and containing the areas in plastic to ensure no overspray got on my stuff. I received quotes for work to be done on 2 properties. Not a huge job ($3000) but a solid variety of tasks that allowed me to see if this is an experienced company that can do the jobs well and reliably (installing ceiling fans, bathroom exhaust fans, weather-stripping exterior doors, tightening a few loose toilets). They said that it would take 4 days to complete our job. So I waited 3 weeks until they could scheduled us in. At the end of the 4 days, this was what was completed: 1 ceiling fan installed in a bedroom. Nothing else. 4 days to install a ceiling fan? The injury to insult was the total lack of communication from the office. Not one single email, text or phone call after I left multiple messages as to what the status of our job was. We had tenants moving in the following week so I sent an detailed email to cancel and explained what went so terribly wrong with this job. No reply. Just an invoice for the 1 ceiling fan. I found a different handyman who singlehandedly completed the entire scope of work in 2 days! without complaint or fanfare and $840 cheaper.
