This store is located in Midtown Village. I hate Midtown Village. As expected, it was a tricky business to locate the store (essentially across from Chuck E. Cheese) and then locate a parking spot near it without getting run over.
However, there were two very nice, very knowledgeable ladies working there. For me, at least, this is the kind of store where you don't really look around at things; you tell the employees what you want and they help you. I wanted a pair of shoes like my current (old...) Brooks, and they had me try on the newest version, and then also the generation previous, which was on sale. Let's just say, they know their shoes, which for someone like me who doesn't know and doesn't care, is SUPER helpful.
They showed me how to tie them differently so they were tighter, and had me try a totally different shoe when I wasn't sure about the Brooks (funny how brand new shoes feel different than worn-out ones!). Noting my worn-out, buy them in a bag of 10 pairs, sad-looking athletic socks, they also had me try a pair of dry fit socks, which let me tell you, felt pretty magical.
Here's the best part. I couldn't tell the difference between the sale and non-sale shoes, so I got the ones that were on sale ($75, down from $120). It was also buy one, get one half off, and they conveniently had two pairs of the exact same shoes. Yes, I got a second pair for $37.50. Finally, the socks, which are normally $12.99 (for ONE pair, yikes!) were on sale for buy 3, get 1 free. So I now have shoes for now and for later, plus awesome new socks, for the ridiculously bargain price of $165 total. Can you say very satisfied customer? read more
