They were hiring, so they were obviously understaffed. Having said that, they did have little signs on the table letting people know this, asking for patience, which was a nice touch. The waitress was working her butt off and knew the menu like the back of her hand. She was very friendly and quick and didn't rush people when they had questions about the menu. My husband and I came into town to pick up farm equipment and found this restaurant on Yelp. You seat yourself which is okay. Restaurant is clean. Food is excellent. I got the Ribeye tips. So so good! Everything my family and I got here was amazing! Lots of flavor and huge burgers! The mac and cheese was very creamy, good texture and filling. Very friendly people working here. Only downside is we weren't offered more fries even though they are unlimited but we could have asked as well so not a huge thing. We ordered a side of baked beans and it was a tiny container. Great stop!! Driving back to Illinois spotted this place.. always looking for cars in the parking lot. What a diverse menu, they even had a separate menu for lent. They told us they were understaffed but we were waited on quickly and food was brought out in a timely manner. My husband had the seafood salad with shrimp and crab, excellent!! I had the shrimp wrap. Also excellent! Staff was friendly and prices were reasonable. Definitely be back when we drive through again. We loved all the pics on the wall and were seated ourselves. A group of out of towners we very very hungry and we very impressed with the menu. They have everything. 5 in our group really enjoyed their meals but me and one other person were not happy. We were the only ones that ordered burgers. Honestly, it was just awful. If we hadn't been so hungry and taken it to go, we both would have sent it back. That thing had to have been precooked (hours or days in advance) and sat in a warmer for hours. It was so dehydrated I nearly choked. No seasoning that I could taste. It was very busy when we got there so we had to wait for a table to be cleared. 4 people came to our table to be got cleared. The service was amazing. Searching for a restaurant on the way home from my in-laws and I found this little gem on Yelp. The food was so good. My group had a few different burger choices and all were amazing. We also had the boneless wings, huge pieces with really tasty buffalo sauce. I was pretty pleased with the app. but lets consider the main dish. I Had the Burger/ pork belly mix hamburger and my goodness... Was so tender, fresh tasting, and juicy. If I could've, I would've ate another one right there. The staff was super friendly and helpful, especially considering we had 4 of our children with us. Went for lunch and was seated right away. The server was very friendly and brought our drinks and took our order promptly. I ordered the tri tip sandwich which is seasoned with salt and pepper and smoked. It was absolutely outstanding. The meat had a nice pink smoke ring and was perfectly tender and juicy with the perfect amount of salt and pepper. It was a very generous portion as well. I ordered a side of chips which was just a bag of sysco chips. I should have ordered fries instead. The curly fries were pretty good (my dad got those) but not great. The interior is all vintage wood and semi saloon themed. The booth we sat in wasn't super comfy but the place overall was clean and we'll lit. I will definitely come back next time I'm in town that tri tip was absolutely to die for. read more

Pthe food was fresh and good (green beans NOT from a can, a well cooked 14 oz rib eye steak), but the prices are OUTRAGEOUS. We took 2 whiskey cokes and 2 glasses of red wine and wished we'd inquired for the price beforehand... over 50 dollars for those 4 drinks. luckily we shared the days special because that turned out to be 30 dollars. Ended up paying one hundred dollars for one shared days special and one shared dessert, plus 4 drinks. A glass of red wine for 16 dollars... it's cheaper and not less tasty on the Champs Elysées in Paris. Friendly place but too expensive and prices not clearly advertised upfront. read more

Hometown cafe with great food and very friendly service. I had the drunken grilled chicken with mashed sweet potatoes and yummy cinnamon butter ... oh my!! My husband had the hamburger steak and was amazed at how much flavor was in the vegetables. I love the decor in the cafe as well, the paintings are exceptional and have a story all their own. Just passing through from KC to Nebraska ... will make a special trip to try again. The entire town (love the cobblestone streets) is very charming and gotta love the squirrel art. We ate Breakfast here. My son adored the huge french toast platter, one of the best he had ever had. As for my breakfast, the mushroom omelet had canned mushrooms. Had high hopes due to other reviews. My sister and I ordered almost the same thing, the Kill Bill which is a pork tenderloin with bacon, ham and a fried egg. I ordered mine without cheese since it makes me ill. Also I ordered regular fries and she got the curly fries. When the server brought out our food, the asked who had the one without cheese and I raised my hand. They set down the plate and gave my sister the other. I ate my fries first then tried the sandwich. One bite in and I got a huge bite of cheese! I almost got sick at the table. I opened the sandwich and lifted the egg and surprise! Cheese! I waved another server over since ours never came back to check on us after 30 min. I complained nicely and they said they would make another but by then, everyone else had finished eating so they said they would take it off the bill. We went to pay and they had the audacity to charge me for an order of fries!! You screwed up my dinner and evening and charged for a handful of fries? Sad..... Oh and the ladies room sink was backed up and the toilet wouldn't flush. Not too many options in town. Guess we shouldn't always trust Yelp.
