This is the closest stop off the highway, but not a large or great place if you can make it a little farther, imo. There is a restroom, but it is tiny, somewhat dirty, and smelled terrible. The water pressure was very low, and the sink was dripping constantly when you try to turn it off. Toilet paper on the floor--not very well maintained. Writing all over the metal stalls. The gift shop was pretty tight--not somewhere I would want to shop in the middle of a roadtrip. Worth stopping for a quick restroom or drink/snack, but if I had a couple more minutes I'd drive further to a nicer place. read more

Gifts way over priced for all junk they have in there. I would drive 10 more miles down the road and stop where it is safe! read more

A Godsend. Open late, which is good. They own another gas station down the road, near the Subway, where the pumps are open 24/7, however, there was no cashier working inside. As a general rule, I don't swipe my credit card at the gas pump because the numbers can be skimmed. I prefer to go inside and prepay for gas by tapping my card. read more

This is the place to be in Julesburg! Well, I think it's the only place I've ever been and when driving cross country I always look forward to it because there's not only the gas station but there's....shopping!!! Elevated for "convenience store," like they have cute Knick-knacks, seasonal stuff etc. at pretty fair prices. The cutest I got was in the end of August...they had a nice selection of Autumn/Halloween household items (photos). When I passed through again just last weekend there was only one such item left so I suggest if you see it, like it?, buy it. There's also a little grill area that I'm not sure what they offer but it seems like hotdogs and the like, as well as one table with a checkered tablecloth and a good flyswatter. Now, I didn't see any flies, but then again I didn't order anything to eat nor sit down so you go figure that out when you're there! The restroom is always clean and the service is pretty friendly. My family and I stopped in on our drive home to Wisconsin around 9:30 pm to fill up and use the restrooms. The place was very clean and smelled great. The staff was nice, respectful and Chris was Amazing. We would absolutely visit wagon wheel again. read more

DANGER!!!! Gas pump exploded gas from gas tank covering me in gasoline. Staff response was to accuse me of not knowing how to use a gas pump and treat me and my father very badly and continued to insult and accuse both of us like we had done something wrong all while leaving me completely soaked with gasoline. After multiple attempts to try to explain to the employee how a gas pump should work and how it shouldn't even be possible for gasoline to shoot back out of the tank soaking a customer with gasoline and spilling gas everywhere (while still being completely soaked in gasoline) he continued to accuse me of doing something wrong and not acknowledging that the sensor that shuts the gas off to keep that from happening was defective and did not prevent the fuel spill. He finally offered to give me a sweatshirt so I could take off my shirt that was soaked with gasoline. I followed him inside where he then hid in a back room and proceeded to call someone and talk about me and my father in a very insulting way leaving me standing there breathing gas fumes from my clothing for another 5 minutes. After he finished his phone call he said he can only offer me a short sleeve t-shirt (I was riding a motorcycle). Then another employee (Victor) showed up to add to the insanity and began threatening to kick me out of the store without giving me a chance to clean the fuel off myself because I was becoming upset by the treatment of the other employee and had been left to breathe gas fumes for way too long. I was finally allowed to use the bathroom to clean the gasoline off of myself and washed my bra with soap and water and came out of the bathroom in nothing but my bra and pants that were still soaked in gasoline since due to Victor further escalating the problem they decided to not even give me a t-shirt. These people should not be operating a gas station. They turned an extremely dangerous situation into a total nightmare. Once my head cleared after escaping the gas fumes I had been breathing I realized I should have called 911 the moment I realized the staff there were not capable of responding to the situation appropriately. I was so upset I left and went to the next exit to deal with the rest of the gasoline on my clothes and also called 911 to report them to the fire marshal. I plan to follow up with the Julesberg fire department this morning to try to make sure this doesn't happen to someone else. read more

What a dump. If you need to use the bathroom you better move on from here. They are absolutely tiny and there is a toilet in the men's restroom with no stall walls and right next to the sink. The mirror is right above the toilet for some reason. The women's I was told was no better, because the stalls given were so small you can only fit 2 people at a time literally. The gift shop has little to offer. The employees/owners were very rude and had no respect for customers. I would only get gas from here and nothing else. read more

It is a very crowded, small gas station. I would have purchased gifts. However, the few gifts I could look at were very over priced. There is no posted limit stating how many customers are allowed in the building at one time - definitely not 6 feet for social distancing. I will never return. read more

Stopped at this location for last minute souvenirs. My family and I which include my wife, three teenagers, a toddler and myself went in to look around. While doing so two employees (an older woman and woman with highlights in hair) followed us around as if we were going to steal something, while that was uncomfortable, we still kept shopping. My son Who is 5 started to throw a temper tantrum, my wife took him outside to have a talk with him and a few minutes later came back in only for him to restart his tantrum. We all quickly paid for our merchandise and went back to our car, my wife decided to go back in to purchase some additional items since she hadn't been able to properly look around. Thinking that we had all left, and not seeing my wife, the woman with the highlights asked the older woman if she had seen the little boy (my son) and how he was acting. Then said if it was her son she would of "taken him to the bathroom and beaten his ass", to which the older woman agreed and said she would of too. My wife hearing that conversation stepped out and Asked her what gave her the right to judge someone's parenting, that employee didn't know if our son was just throwing a tantrum or was autistic (he is not). He is 5 and does what most toddlers do when they do not get their way. Point is she did not know our situation and for her to disrespect a customer is not only unprofessional but rude. Shame on them, needless to say, my wife did not buy anything else. She left furious, had we not been on a bit of a time constraint, we would of returned all $200 worth of overpriced things that we bought. They have not only lost future business with us but we have advised multiple family members and friends who travel to and from Colorado of the situation and they will no longer do business with them. Also watch out for the puddles of urine all over their bathroom floors. read more
