There's a lovely patio if the weather is nice. Things that I love about the Bierstube: *Moscow Mules available - properly served in copper mugs. Hell yes! *Great burgers. They're 1/2 lb, and never frozen. Above average fries too. *Cozy atmosphere - lots of warm wood and "lodge" decor. *Super friendly staffers. I've only ever had warm, pleasant service here. *Great fried cheese curds *Old timey slot machine that actually pays out quarters FYI - the Bierstube gets quite popular with boaters and vacationers so it might take a little time to get through a meal if you arrive after big groups. Also - the people watching is great. I saw a group of 8 middle aged peeps order giant Slippery Nipples (Baileys + Butterscotch Schnapps = baaarrrrff) and drink 'em down quite happily. Then a table of old guys played Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines on the jukebox. Good times. Good times.

People travel for several hours to get here, or hey, maybe they're just from a nearby golf course, but when they get here, they can be LOUD. That's OK though. It's entertaining to watch, and you CAN get good draft beer here (including German style beer) along with good wine, and some tasty appetizers and sandwiches. The lighting is warm and not too bright, and the walls are paneled in knotty pine. The staff generally works well together to make sure patrons are taken care of although during crowded times service can take a bit longer. The windows are large and look out onto the deck where seating is available, and just past that you have a great view of the lake. I dig it. And Joanna T is right, the slot machine is way cool.

On our recent visit, we had a large party, but the staff handled it well. We sat in the back area, which was spacious and very clean. The younger guy that helped us was super friendly and able to handle our party with ease. The food was excellent and arrived to the table hot, fresh, and around the same time. My patty melt was amazing. It had tons of grilled onions, and the rye bread was toasty and buttery.

Nestled in the city of Haugen, you will for sure find yourself wondering how and why this facility exists, yet I am forever grateful it does! We sat outside on the patio which has twinkle lights and overlooks a running creek. The trees above in the skyline are gorgeous and the entire experience is serene. We opted for the Heavenly Hibiscus which is a raspberry mimosa with an edible flower. This drink was delightful and fresh! For food, we split the charcuterie board which was filled with grapes, almonds, two types of cheese, crackers and salami. We also split the pizza and were happy that we could pick our own toppings for each side. One pizza was the perfect size for two! There was one canned beer and a sangria ordered as well. While truly a 5 star experience, I did think it was odd that the plates and water cups were paper as everything else was elegant and upscale. This observation is not enough to damage any lower score, yet I am still calling it out so others are aware / genuinely curious on why this would be ? None the less - Thank you for the lovely experience, The Creamery! Looking forward to my next visit.

When we first walked up, it was clearly a dive and we were wondering if we would feel unwelcome because we are not locals. Absolutely not the case! Steve got us drinks and Kevin, the owner, chatted us up and made us feel like regulars. His mom was there watching a soap opera with some friends and she shared some delicious homemade cake with us. Kevin dropped $5 in the juke box for us to listen to some songs and made us The Best Pizza! Cheeseburger with extra pickles. There is a reason it has won awards! We are the whole thing! The bar area has a fantastic lakefront view but the outside is awesome too. There is a stage area for a band and plenty of outdoor seating if you want to keep your distance from others but still enjoy getting out and about. This place is a glorified dumping yard- should've left right when I saw the camping chairs in the backyard and all 50 ashtrays. The locals all gave us dirty looks upon arriving, aliens as we were, including the bartender (who also unfortunately made our pizzas too). Speaking of pizzas, I mean y'all... seriously??? Good pizza?? Ive had better pizza from a gas station in a pinch. I'm pretty sure there was no fresh ingredients on it, even had canned mushrooms. I wouldn't have even bothered writing this, if it weren't for the fact that I paid severely for this mistake all night and into the next day with trips to the bathroom, thanks Hoots. Do yourself a favor and find anywhere else.
