My daughter and I have been wanting to try this place since it opened and hearing all the hype about it. We stared off with chips, salsa, elote corn and guacamole. The guacamole was nothing but avocado crushed up. No cilantro, lime salt or anything. Just plain avocado. Huge disappointment. The elote corn was nothing like true Mexican Elote Corn. Are main course was my daughter had the Birria Tacos. My other daughter had the Beef Tacos. And I had the Birria Quesadilla. The flavors were not there. My daughter is Hispanic and was truly disappointed. Our meal was a little over $70. The disappointment was so bad it wasn't worth no where near that. Second time trying this restaurant. After the first visit I decided I would not go back. After about 4 months I developed to give it one more try. Definitely, this restaurant is not ready. See the picture of the enchilada I waited over 40 minutes to receive. A cheese stick, essentially, cut in half with a small tortilla rolled around it. Meat on top. They ran out of queso while I was waiting! After waiting over 40 minutes No cheese sauce! Horrible. This time I'm going to stick with my first inclination. I do not plan to ever return!! read more

Wahaka Taco is so close to being one of my preferred mexican restauarants, but they just slightly miss the mark. Their service is fine, but their adherence to being a near solely takeout restauarant for their gourmet aligned hispanic cuisine holds them back. When you get them fresh off the grill it is absolutely amazing. However since it is take out it almost never has the same punch due to delivery times and otherwise. I'm giving them a 4 because I've not tried everything they serve. I loved their street tacos and the chili lime chicharron were very good. The elote Mexican corn is very yummy. I tried a Chimichanga today and it was good but I love that white cheese sauce and it didn't have it but the salsa they gave me was good. I could only eat half of it. read more

I was excited to try this place and have a lot of mixed emotions following my first lunch there today. Tor me it was undeniably delicious. For my husband his review was "a solid two thumbs sideways" (translation, meh). I got the carnitas street tacos ($11) and elote ($7). The tacos were delicious. This place maybe kind of seems to purport that it is traditional Mexican food from the state of Oaxaca. Having been to that region, this food is comparable, delicious, but what I'd see as high end and definitely not what I'd consider as an authentic street taco. Pickled onions? I mean I enjoyed them but def not "authentic." The elote was $7 for literally an ear of corn with the spread, seasoning, cilantro, and pepitas off the grill. I desperately want to eat buckets of this but for $7 each I won't consider making the drive across town for a special trip. My husband got a carnitas burrito and chips with poblano queso. The burrito was the same price or a dollar more than the very small (authentically appropriate, really delicious) tacos I had but definitely carried the value in calories. I wasn't full after my tacos. His first bite was a really chunky 2" piece of pork fat (this comes with the carnitas territory but was kind of symbolic for our trip). All in all, super delicious flavor. I like the bar stool/standing type dining area (authentic) with soccer and great Mexican music on. Not really a place for a long "dine in" experience but was good for lunch. I will try it again but not in a hurry to spend the money for what I didn't really see was great pricing. read more

Disappointed. The service was good, but the food was awful. I ordered what they called beef tacos, but what I got wasn't remotely a taco. Cabbage instead of lettuce, small chunks of lime with the skin on, heavily seasoned beef, and a soggy corn shell. Two bites, and right to the trash. Went to the restaurant this evening and had the avocado Cesar, which was quite good. My daughter had the taco kids meal, and the beef in the taco was incredibly dry and overcooked and whatever the sauce was for the churros frankly just looked like a pile of poo in a cup. It really was disgusting. The kicker was when I had to take my daughter inside to use the restroom and was told they have NO PUBLIC RESTROOM!!! Isn't it illegal for a for a restaurant to not have a restroom for its patrons? Since they cannot provide something as basic as a restroom, we will not be going back. read more

I paid $17 for a baja fish burrito online and was early so I carried it out as soon as it was done. I got to the house I am staying at just off of 46 two minutes later and the burrito was cold. It tasted okay but $17 for a cold burrito is outrageous even if it were amazing. This one was nothing special. read more

Get the nachos, trust me! In my first trimester of pregnancy, this place is all I wanted. It's so fresh and delicious, and takeout is ready in 10 minutes! I commend them for all of their fresh ingredients. You have to know what to order though. The tacos are good, however the corn tortillas were not toasted at all, just kinda thrown on there. My only complaint is one time I called to order two tacos, and they gave me to ORDERS of tacos with all the sides, so just be specific with a la carte items I guess! read more

First time here. Fun menu and delicious food. We had a chimichanga, queso, street corn & chips. The chimi was huge, fresh off the grill chicken. The street corn is to die for! Chips are great, with not too much salt & a hint of chili lime. Everything was excellent. The staff was helpful, very professional and welcoming. Went here on opening day & were underwhelmed with the tacos. Decided to try them again today. Bought nachos with carnitas, Baja fish tacos & plancha shrimp tacos. They were ok but not great. The fish were mushy & the shrimp were so tiny you could barely see them. The nachos were plentiful & tasty. We were very disappointed, especially for $50. Service & ambience were good.
