So as soon as you…read moretry to get into the school, there's a long line of cars when I say long I mean extremely long! Which should be normal for school drop offs, but as you get closer you realize it's because the Staff allows people to park in the drop off lane and walk their kids to class!! Need I remind you it literally has one drop off lane cause they have their school buses in the other empty lane.. Which wouldn't be too bad if there wasn't a drop off line a mile along and I'm not exaggerating! And then you look around and they have like 5 public parking which are filled with the staff parking in them!! Majority I take that back most of their teachers are just normal people who walked in and applied who are NOT CERTIFIED teachers, and got the job!! Or they friend works their so that's how they got in!! And half of which are all on social media doing drugs for the world to see!!! They have zero staff presence when you walk on property!! Absolutely no one actually supervising the kids!! And as I'm leaving I found all the staff members a little ways across the street all smoking!! I mean how is it legal for these teachers who supposedly teaching our next generation that it's okay to smoke!! And further more okay to smoke right across of a school!!

Although considered a small school serving approximately 900 students, it is currently the largest charter school in the state of Hawaii. It became a charter back in 2009. Known for it's safe environment and academic rigor, the school prepares its haumana for college through a core foundation of cultural values: kuleana, ho'ihi, na'auao pono, laulima, 'imi'ike, and olakino maika'i. It is with these values that the navigators have learned to persevere, overcome challenges, and journey their way to leading successful futures. Mrs. Tiare, Mrs. Ru and Mrs Rowena is a great example of what it means to be women of God walking in faith. I was so blessed to hear conversations between my children and the teachers how the teachers used my child's mistakes and turned it into a positive learning moment that encouraged love through an experience that when they left the school for the day they were happy, safe and filled with love from the teachers never felt like they were bad. The teachers always taught love through teaching and encouraging the child to be their true self. The academic's that the school teaches is awesome the recognition and routine that my children attended comes home and shares the many things that they have learned makes me feel confident in the school that my children attended. The knowledge they have gained just blesses me as a parent and how they continue to teach in so many ways to grab the attention of each and every child that is in their classroom. The spiritual part of this is school is amazing how it is the core of each teacher and child that attends and as staff show the meaning of God's love through how they speak, dress and how they make each parent feel valued and important. St. Michael's school thank you for making a lasting impact on my family and how this school will always have a special place in my heart! May God bless you all and thank you for everything you have done to make my children feel loved even though my children are a handful you never made me think they were less than but always made me as a parent how truly wonderful my children are to you!

I…read moremust say this program was at the bottom of the list because I was not of any Hawaiian ancestry, and it is a culture-based program. Every Wednesday we went to the loi' (taro patch) to either pull taro or clean the grounds @ the taro patch. Fridays we paddled canoe @ Pokai Bay. During the other times of the week, we attended addiction classes and we had a lot of homework, all the work was about self, and we also learned the Hawaiian language and hula. Needless to say, I completed residential in seventy (70) days. In spite of me not being Polynesian this program worked, I was busy every day, doing classes & we were taken to outside meetings as well. Furthermore, it was the ONLY program I have completed in my life, and I've been to almost every program on this island besides Hina Mauka and Sand Island. Learning about the culture came like 2nd nature because I was already bi-lingual. It was also far enough for me to focus on just my Recovery, far enough from Honolulu, and far enough from temptation. By the Grace of God, I just celebrated 16 years today!!! So if ANYONE has anything negative to say about this program, they must've not been a client. ANY program is a good program, the problem is most newcomers want to go into short-term programs because it's quicker. All I got to say is, for the one seeking treatment, don't cheat yourself, because you ARE worth it. Thank you God & "Ho O Mau Ke Ola" for my Recovery of 16 years, and it hasn't been easy, nor was it given to me, I had to work for it, working on myself is an everyday job. Mahalo Ke Akua....

Jacob is excellent!…read more Life is busy, and we thought it would be extremely difficult to get our 16-year-old licensed--especially with all the Honolulu Graduated Driver Licensing Program requirements, which felt intimidating to us as newbies. Thanks to Jacob, the entire process was smooth and stress-free. He was responsive, patient, and an excellent communicator, guiding us step-by-step through exactly what needed to be done. Our daughter attended six consecutive Sunday classroom sessions and, despite some initial apprehension, ended up really enjoying herself. Jacob made the classes fun and engaging with group assignments, skits, videos, and friendly competitions. He even bought boba for the winners--which alone would have won our daughter over! As an added bonus, she got to know students from other schools. The one-on-one behind-the-wheel sessions were just as wonderful. Jacob's car has a passenger-side brake, which eased a lot of our fear and helped our daughter progress much faster. Over the course of the required 50 hours of parent-child driving practice, we noticed a clear boost in her confidence after every session with Jacob. It was also incredibly helpful that he took her on the actual test route the day before her exam, which made her feel fully prepared. Our daughter "passed first crack," and we couldn't be happier! To top it off, Jacob highlights his students' accomplishments on Instagram, which is fun and motivating. We were so fortunate to have found him--Jacob is truly the best!

I took the adult driving program with instructor Lenard Wong. While he might be a good driver himself, he is not a good instructor for beginners. I would only recommend him to people who already know how to drive and just need a refresher. For first-time and nervous drivers like me, I highly discourage choosing him. Every time I made a mistake, he would scold, yell, or sigh. This made me incredibly anxious and unable to focus. To make matters worse, he barely explained the rules or how to use the car's mirrors, mechanisms, and other essential functions, nor did he give detailed tips on how to drive well. By the second lesson, he made me drive on the main streets without proper, detailed preparation. Yes I made a lot of mistakes but everyone makes mistake and has different pace. I am trying to learn and that is what I am paying for but with him I am barely learning to drive. If you have zero driving experience, I strongly advise looking for a different driving school or instructor who is patient and thorough.
