When You employ people ( agents) you become responsible for their actions. I sold a house in Virginia Beach recently. The buyer used a Wainwright agent ( Katie Hammer). Ms. Hammer did not represent me just the buyer. Due to changes to the contract, misinforming me of what exactly the changes meant she took close to $ 5000.00 of my money. I contacted Wainwright's managing partner, basically she told me there was nothing she could do. The contract was minipulated, and I was given incorrect information untill the deal was basically done and I already made other arrangements so I had to accept the incorrect and fraudulent deal which caused me $5300.00. I have filed a formal complaint with the Federal Trade Administration (Veterans Afairs). I also filed with the Virginia Board of Realtors. I would be very careful if you are dealing with these people. Have your lawyer approve everything before you sign anything. Be sure every thing you agreed to or terms you want are in writing and signed by the parties. My lesson from this mess is I was to trustful and relied on people who misled me. Don't take my word read the other reviews. This company should be selling candy bars not real estate. Their actions shine a bad light on all Real Estate agents. read more

Arlene C is a horrible agent. Had an appointment to close at 5 pm. She said she doesn't like going downtown and gets lost in parking garages and was mad she would have to pay to park! Then when her company told her that she needed to go she lied about not having the paperwork for closing. Worst day ever and worst work ethic ever. Didn't get done untill 9 PM with a 5 PM appointment because she was entitled to not be committed to her job. read more

I have used Nash as my property manager for more than 7 years now and have 0 complaints. Communication is great, everything and anything that needs to be handled is taken care of in a professional matter and that means a lot these days. I personally live 6 hours away from my property and have not had to make a trip to the property for any reason unless I wanted too! 1 Star (not by choice) My agent was cool as a person, but there are a lot of cool people that don't belong in real estate. After having my house "listed" for over a year w/ no legit offers, I finally got the place sold. Now I live out of state, and the agent agreed to keep an eye on the place until she was able to make "a quick sale". Here are a few problems: - She obviously had not stopped by the place for several weeks because the county sent me a letter saying the lawn was not taken care of and that there was trash piling up in my yard (I was actually charged a few hundred for them to fix it since my agent didn't let me know so I can send money over for her to hire someone) - Each time I would start to get frustrated, someone would "mysteriously" put in a verbal offer, but then after a month of stalling, they would just as "mysteriously" disappear, never to be heard from again. Whenever I told my agent to get a written offer from them, she would throw some b.s. excuse at me. - My other agent that sold a different property of mine emailed me a copy of the MLS showing that my property wasn't even listed!!!! The MLS listing had not been renewed even though I reminded the agent a few times - Of the 10 people that were interested in the property, I had to find 8 of them by posting on Craigslist, and when I taught her to do it, she said she did but didn't - Candidates would call me and say they never heard from my agent to go see the house - Giving me an inflated appraisal to get my hopes up, then finally bringing me an offer that was 20% of the appraised value (yea, that's not a typo, TWENTY PERCENT OF THE APPRAISED VALUE!!) - Most of the follow-up and closing work, I had to push my agent to do it - Telling me to expect a call at 8am to review some closing info, but calling me instead at 2pm because she "overslept"......overslept by 9 hours? I don't believe that From my experience working w/ a few of the agents under this rinky dink broker, I suggest you let your house forclose before you try using them.....it'll save you a lot of time and stress. read more

I have been with Wainwright Real Estate since December 2014. I have no complaints. They are always helpful, friendly & welcoming. If I've had any issues (such as appliances, A/C, etc) they always fix it in a timely manner. They are great advocates of the tenant and understanding. We were selling our home and buying another through wainwright realty. The agent didn't tell us she was representing the buyer for our home as well. The agent wasn't present for the inspection, or the walk through on the home we were buying. We jumped through hoops fixing a lot of things that really didn't need fixing and hardly anything was fixed in the home we were buying. Our agent was extremely difficult to reach for questions. She even went out of town on the weekend we were to close on both homes. A lot is being left out because it's too much to write but in short, this whole experience was nothing short of a nightmare. Worst agent ever and we should have fired her early on but gave the benefit of the doubt because she was referred by an in-law. To add insult to injury our agent didn't give us a thank you or a gift after closing. We tried to reach her via phone and email and received no response. She had her commission and she was done. We called Mr Wainwright to complain and arrange a meeting but he said to just email him because there was no need to meet. We emailed him our concerns and unhappiness with the way we were handled by an agent from Wainwright and he only replied via email with sorry this happened and enjoy your new home. Do not use Wainwright realty unless you want to deal with a company that runs their business like a bad used car dealer where they want the money now and then they are done with you. They have no concern for repeat customers. We will take pleasure in knowing that when we purchase our next home within 5 years Wainwright will certainly not be getting our business! read more

Our agent Angela Britt was and still is very knowledgeable and professional. We have purchased and sold many homes through Angela and on every occasion we have been very pleased. Stay away from this real estate business! My wife and I were lied to by the real estate agent. She was representing the people that were buying our home and never told us that she was also their agent. She was nearly impossible to reach by phone or email. She went on vacation when we were to close on the homes. No gift at the end. No class. The owner of Wainwright refused to meet with us in person to address our concerns. My son was relocating from Minnesota to Norfolk Virginia for his first job as an airline pilot. As a mother not knowing the area I was anxious to figure out how I could help him find an apartment to rent that was in a nice safe area within his limited budget. I was put in touch with Lori Miller at Wainwright Real Estate in Virginia Beach (also a mother with adult children) and even though there was nothing in it for her (she isn't a rental agent) she went out of her way to help me scout out some apartments in various areas of Virginia Beach going so far as to drive by them and check them out. If Lori went to this much trouble just to be nice to someone she may never even meet, I can only imagine the customer service she provides for her clients. What a nice lady! read more
