Located towards one of the ends of The Brunswick Centre, I called in this branch of Waitrose to take a quick look around before heading to Wembley Stadium, it's in a good location within the centre and is close to many restaurants (like most of Central London) and it is also really close and within walking distance of Euston and St Pancras, albeit if you're looking for the tube the store is much closer to Russell Square. It is a decent size Waitrose store but many things about it which I usually like about Waitrose seem to let it down, for example, the staff members seemed a little rude and to just get in the way especially when stacking shelves, it seemed like they had a rude and careless attitude which was a shame. The selection of drinks in the store which was the main purpose of my visit wasn't too great, with a poor selection of Iced teas, with the only one available being Fuzetea (they didn't even have the mango flavour either, just the peach one I don't like!) Like with all Waitrose there was the quick scan via your phone service "quick check", however, I couldn't find where to go at all to activate your shopping, the only part easy to find was the checkout for people using the service. With no barcode to scan in obvious sight or mini-handheld scanners which the service uses, this part of the store could definitely be better organised. The location isn't bad and it is nice to have a decent sized supermarket in this location, which was within walking distance of the Hilton London Euston in which I was regretfully staying during my time in London, but many parts of the store such as stock of certain items, organisation and staff members do let it down so it sadly does not justify anything over a two-star rating. read more

Quick Review. This place is close to the British Museum. We stopped here, because it was on our way to the tube. Popped in to take a quick look what they had in terms of snacks. They have a pretty big selection, including some goodies with their own name. We came on a Wednesday at about 8pm and their shelves were a little bare. Not empty, but definitely not fully stocked. Not a big deal, because I only came to take a look. However, if I was looking for something in particular, it might have been difficult. read more

Waitrose at the Brunswick is one of the largest and generously spread out from the other stores. Their bakery and cakes section is fresh and very tempting. If you go late afternoon a lot of prices start getting reduced, so some of it is worth the pick up. They are very very professional and they serve you with genuine joy. Waitrose as you all know is branded in a classic traditional English set up. Subtle yet trusting is what I'm reading in a wholistic way. They are closed two days for Christmas on the 25th & 26th. I feel badly writing this update I must have been jetlagged out of my brain when I wrote the first review. Positives: Not bad selection of fruit and veg., breads are there ... but UNcovered ... Good cheese varieties. Super-negatives: The ******* buggies have wheels which get stuck. Waitrose: remove these obstacles as they serve no purpose other than (a) getting in the way, and (b) you hurt yourself trying to push these stupid things around. Lastly, and I know the shop cannot control who comes in and out but thE RUDEST and PUSHIEST patrons in London. Makes New Yorkers look like pussies. Visiting London for a week but not having access to a kitchen, I depended on this supermarket, which has any kind of prepared foods you can think of, as well as all manner of beverages, including liquor. The deli and bakery are small but have a reasonable selection. I haven't tried the sushi, though samples were frequently offered. The Brunswick boasts plenty of eateries, but I always end up preferring a poke bowl or salad from Waitrose, as there are tables outside (and in) for a quick lunch. There are plenty of ways to check out; I especially appreciate the self-checkout stations at two exits. The flowers are as fresh--and of as good quality--as the produce. By the way, I first shopped this location in 2008, and it has been impressively well maintained. The staff are knowledgeable and pleasant, sometimes cheerful. It's even a manageable walk from the British Library if you want more movement than just going to one of the cafés would involve. Moreover, items are marked down frequently, so your lunch can be very thrifty, while the walk will make you feel less deprived of sunlight. read more

This is a good sized Waitrose, and has a fab range and selection of food and drink; there is always something different here that you cannot find in regular supermarkets, and it is ideal if you need unique ingredients. It's a common assumption that Waitrose is overpriced, but it really is not. If you were really skint, the best thing to do is to look around for food with the 'red sticker' on. You can get some excellent discounts on some of their best quality ranges, particularly the meat. The meatballs are often B.O.G.O.F. The store is very accessible for disabled customers; completely flat entrances, and there are trolleys that are wheelchair attachable too. I notice more wheelchair and powerchair users in this supermarket than I do others, probably because the aisles are easier to navigate. Try to avoid at lunchtime/hometime hours as it can be full of people buying their lunch or supper/booze/cat food for when they are home. read more

This grocery store helped us save so much money on food on our trip to London last summer. Understanding that London has a higher standard of living than in the East coast and trips aren't cheap to begin with, we decided to let the local groceries feed us and splurge on restaurants a few times. We actually didn't realize this place until about a day or so later into our trip and when we did it was like godsend! We ate out of their pre-packaged food section and I have to say they have one of the better grocery store prepared foods I've ever had. Having only American East coast grocery stores to compare with, they were very good! One of my favorite was the breakfast sandwich. They used whole wheat bread and filled between 3 layers of bread are hard-boiled eggs and sausage. Loved British sausage - can't say enough of it :) Next time we visit London, definitely look for lodgings near Waitrose :) read more

Dreadful example of a Waitrose store. Parlous stock levels and always running out of certain lines (generally the things I like). Some good staff but too many transient student types. My local store and I have to say the worst Waitrose I have ever encountered. When I travel I am always impressed by other stores. Medium sized Waitrose located in the recently renovated Brunswick shopping centre close to Russell Square tube station in Bloomsbury. Waitrose dominates the Brunswick and has a wide selection of speciality foods available, as well as basics. This is the best large grocery retailer in the area (for Kings Cross and Bloomsbury). The shop is well laid out and usually doesn't get too busy. You can park in the car park under the Brunswick for free for 2 hours if you keep your Waitrose receipt or get your carpark ticket stamped. As with most Waitrose's staff are helpful and shelves are well stocked. There is a good selection of sandwiches if you are on your way to the British Museum/Russell Square for a picnic and it is open until 8/9 most nights of the week. read more

I am so spoiled by this Waitrose. After living next to this grocery store it has been hard to shop at the other grocery stores closer to my new house. On a rare occasion or when I just can't find what I am looking for I go back to this Waitrose and they always have everything I need. This is also one of the more expensive grocery stores in London. It is a nice bright atmosphere and the cashiers can be talkative and friendly. They have a very wide range of food products for people with all kinds of food intolerances. This store was a lifesaver for me, and not as expensive as shopping at Whole Foods. They have the best fresh squeezed lemonade, which is usually sold out by the end of the day, and a more than adequate wine selection. If I lived closer this would be the only place I would shop. read more

The fruit and vegetables section often is picked over and unappetizing, but the store offers a wide range of good deals on food that seems higher quality than Tesco and Sainsbury. You can also pick deals online by registering for a loyalty card and save even more money! read more

This location is of medium size and had a nice selection, though some of the produce was not too fresh. The prices can be a bit high, but there are products there that I would choose over those form other stores, which keeps me coming back. Sainsburys is better for students because it is much cheaper and has more deals, but I got some good olives and a few other organic items not available a the discount stores. Pricier but nicer. I avoid this store, even though it is so close to my home and it is the biggest grocery store in the neighborhood. I've had very poor customer service from the staff on 3 separate occasions and also found worms in my fish which I bought from here. Considering the price is more than in other stores, I'd expect better quality and service. Unfortunately that isn't the case. read more

Shop is fine, the woman at the counter had a real attitude. The card machine failed the first time and she talked like I didn't know how to use a card machine. If I didn't shop at a larger waitrose every other day (and everyone there was helpful and friendly), I might have thought that was a fair representation of waitrose. read more
