For the items I like to buy, the prices at Michael's were slightly higher than Hobby Lobby, too. The employees at Michael's were not rude, but they were not particularly friendly or helpful either. My sister and I were there for much less than an hour ( we can barely drag ourselves away from other craft stores in under 2 hours) and felt we had seen everything and were not particularly impressed. The ranks were crooked, the stitching cuts across the rank and doesn't stay on the border, and the service stripe looks as though it was frayed on all edges and has stitching running across it. If you need something to look professional I would completely avoid this place. After calling them about it the lady I spoke to said the following about the lady who did the work. "She's been sick and sometimes that's an excuse to do a bad job." After she said she couldn't give me a refund. I've served my country for 3 years and all I wanted was to have stuff sewn, but instead I get treated like my uniform doesn't matter. Like I said; avoid this place.

It's also experiences like shopping at the Shiprock Trading Company that make us appreciate our home in the Bay. Why? Read on. My wife is a proud Navajo woman. She's also an attorney, and probably earns more in a year than the gross receipts this shop takes in in six months. Unfortunately, she doesn't have her bank balance tattooed on her face. If she did, perhaps she wouldn't have been met with the all too typical racism of a border town. Did she have to ask three times to be helped? Sure did. Was she treated with courtesy and respect? Of course not! It's Farmington! And she isn't white. So the white woman behind the counter was passive aggressive, hostile, and uncommunicative. Sweet. Does this bother us? Sort of, I suppose. It is a walk of several dozen feet to the next store.
