Have you ever been indoctrinated to a cult? Ever get pinned by that family member wanting to talk to you about their latest MLM scheme? In the course of talking to 3 people, I was aggressively solicited to their annual plan SEVEN times. If I don't know you, and I don't know what your work is like, I'm not commiting to any annual plan. This was sometime last year when I tried their services and yes, they did as asked, but I would not call it budget friendly but maybe something short of harassment and some things I thought might be obvious, weren't. They could have great technicians but they are so focused on the hard sell, you're left just feeling exploited. I called them out due to my AC not cooling. Once here they looked at the system and said they weren't sure what was going on. But yet he could charge me 300 and some odd dollars to diagnosis it. Hmmmmm. Well I was hot so I let them do it. He said it was some kind of hose but said that was not a permanent fix but for thousand of dollars more I could choose which plan I wanted to go with. I am like most of you; I went with Waldrop because they have a big name and good reviews. Here is mine and my families experience. 1. a Tech came out to assess what we needed. He said we needed a whole new unit; the cost would be $31K. This was way out of budget for us since we had just purchased the home barely a month ago. When I told them it was too expensive, customer service called me and asked if I would let a project manager (Madison) come take a look and possibly find a more feasible fit. I agreed, thinking what could it hurt? He came out assessed our system himself and gave us 3 options. All options included replacing duct work and a pipe. Of course, we discussed that later on we may decide to do a full replacement. We went with quote #1 for $7K, it was more affordable and we were told that after his guys were done, we would be comfortable until we were ready to replace. We are unsure as to what the project manager wrote or told the company, as he asked us to call his cell direct for a more "honest conversation", stating those calls aren't recorded. when their guys came out, they replaced some duct work and left. Didn't ask to check in the house. They were already frustrated saying they need more help and they hope Waldrop was charging enough for labor. we gave it a day or 2, our home was still staying around 80 degrees. We called Waldrop back and they sent another guy out, who then proceeded to tell us that the duct wasn't the issue, it was a leak at the coil. He stated it would be another $3K-$5K to fix. He did not have anything on his truck to help. Our refrigerant was less than half full and would cost us $700 to refill, that we needed 10LBS put in. We declined and wanted to speak with Waldrop again. We were getting upset because we felt like we had been lied to and conned. Waldrop sent out another tech (Dakota) he was friendly, he also said we had a leak and the coil would have to be replaced. I called 2 other companies for their opinion, they assessed and stated that whoever had put the new duct work in did a half ass job. Last night on 6/24/26, we had a small business owner of HVAC come out and take a look. He also stated the duct work that was replaced was not the best. He also did a dye test and found NO leaks. He said I can have you guys fixed tonight for a very small price. He cleaned our unit and coil, opened up closed areas. as of this morning 6/25/26, our house is cooled to 69 degrees. I am sharing so you know what to look for if Waldrop is used and they send someone with shady conversations and very pricey set ups. read more

Waldrop Plumbing has been an absolutely fantastic resolution to my many many conflicts, which all tied back to having plumbing knowledge and plumbing skills, in addition to teamwork and full-circle communication. I tried the Google self-help, and actually changed the internal parts of my toilets tanks. I had already printed the paperwork to act on my dishwasher warranty in the near future. Then the storm really hit when my Terminix rep told me that there was standing water in the crawlspace. (Shout out to my Daddy for insisting that I pour a full concrete slab under my log cabin ; ) My son and I went under the cabin last night and removed 30 gallons of water in about 2 hours. Then my nephew and brother came over and turned the hot water heater off late last night. Thankful to them for saving me hours of more water removal. I believe my crawlspace was covered between 20% & 25%. I was already relieved because Sarah (never seen her but feel like she has been my friend forever) and I sent 28 emails back and forth to reach the exact plan that I wanted to roll out. Sarah answered my original email request instantly, unlike the other 4 local plumbing companies. She impressed me at the very beginning. That's how you grab the sale, kudos to Sarah. It's get a little blurry because I do have a complicated life, but Madison came in the picture after that and was also a positive reinforcer of comfirming the plans and details that I had hoped to bring to life, on my schedule and at my convenience. Then, as I was hoping, Noah showed up right on time this morning. Noah was my sales rep. He spent 90 minutes assessing all my plumbing issues. Most were way above my knowledge level but he brought down his vocabulary to include simple concepts for me to understand the profound depth of what was going on. Noah then went over all my options, in depth. Answered all my questions and right like that, another crew was rolling in to begin the resolution we agreed upon. Holden and Hayden worked the list like magic. They installed a PRV, a new expansion tank, rebuilt both toilets, and made accommodations to the 2 lowboy water heaters that I have to get our normal lifestyle up and running again. This nightmare has just been a domino effect until Waldrop Plumbing became part of the equation. Hayden and Holden knew what they were doing, confidence is a big thing in installed sales, they fully have mine. I commend them on their performance, attitude and hands-on knowledge. From start to finish, it has been 6 hours of non-stop action. It almost felt like it was staged. I am sooooo happy and will definitely recommend Waldrop Plumbing for professional service at a reasonable price. With a career including managing The Home Depot Installed Sales Division in Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, I will confidently say, Waldrop Plumbing could not have done a better full-circle turn-key job for me! Before we allowed Waldrop to do the work, we had a second opinion. The second opinion told us that they could not find any problems with our unit. I believe we were scammed. read more

Called initially for an inspection/work quote (not to have work done). Technician disabled the system without consultation and said I needed a new heat exchanger. $2000 later the furnace that was working BEFORE they touched it, no longer works. ANOTHER $2000 to replace the main board they fried replacing the HE, plus $900 for surge( they even broke one of these installing it) and it won't even turn on. Been without heat for 3 weeks for a system that got "fixed" to broken since they also Over volted the Gas valve. .DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE .. read more

First let me start with, I don't usually write reviews, however my experience with Waldrop Plumbing in Simpsonville SC has infuriated me. We called for a water heater spout drip. They talked us into being a member for $120 a year, we did it ugh!! our own fault for not doing better research. Anyways, the plumber Noah came out to inspect it and gave us a quote of $1500 just to fix it, I told them NO (as I knew this should not be more then a couple hundred dollars) we called another plumbing company (WW Plumbing, they are fantastic) they came out free of charge to inspect it, they ended up fixing the temperature and pressure relief valve for $140. Heater stopped working so a couple guys came out and played on their phones for a couple hours, charged me $320 for a $2200 estimate. After they left, I replaced the thermostat and the unit has been working like a dream since. I was going to let it go but just didn't feel right about it so I called and requested a refund. Was told that a manager would call me back in 24-48 hours. Almost a week later, I call the 8645787252 back and talk to Kelsey. She assures me that her manager, John has just stepped out of the office and would call me back by the end of the day.... two days later (today) I called back and was forwarded to a voicemailbox and never got a call back - starting to sound like a pattern. Our A/C quit working the other night. My husband got us an appt for the next day. Our technician Chase was very nice and did a great job checking for issue's. He had a problem he hadn't seen before so he came back with his manager and he confirmed the problem. Both were extremely polite and we have not had a problem since. First let me say we did not hire Waldrop so my stars are for the fact that they are overpriced and the sales person said "you can afford it...I can tell". We got a Trane system installed for less than half of what they quoted and could not give any reason other than they have engineers. We did call the salesperson and told him he did not get the business. He was a nice guy but you don't tell people the reason you are charging them 3x as much is because they can afford it. Technician blatantly lied regarding parts being replaced, pricing kept obscure until after payment, significantly more expensive than competitors. Management states they have now way to address such issues after the service has been performed. We had a new HVAC system installed right before summer by another company. After several issues we decided to call Waldrop. They said we needed new duct work and that would fix the issue. Over $20,000 spent and the system heats worse now. It's been over a month and they can't seem to find the problem. We spent more money and still nothing fixed. Waldrop came into my home and made a bigger mess than the work they were supposed to do. They told me I needed a new water heater, even though there was nothing wrong with my old one other than it was 12 years old. They ripped up my bathroom floor by dragging my washing machine out instead of using a lift. They told me I needed a new sink because the one I had didn't have brackets on the back. They put in a damaged one to replace it and told me they didn't put brackets on the back because there wasn't enough room (so why did it need to be replaced in the first place?). Then they took my original sink without permission. I had informed them I have 4 cats, yet they left the air return vent open and one of my cats got stuck in the vents for 2 1/2 days. They refused to come and rescue her, so I had to hire someone else to do it. While she was stuck she had to use the vent as a litter box, thereby cancelling the cleaning job Waldrop was supposed to do. The vet bill came to almost $600 because of her being trapped in the vents for so long. Now I have to hire someone else to come clean it again. They charged me $9400 without giving me an itemized bill to know exactly how much I was paying for what work. They have refused to answer my many calls and messages. This company was paid in full for a sump pump and hot water heater. One month ether installing the new parts, the system failed. A technician came out and tried to say there is not under warranty because the water heater flooded and wanted to charge me again. I did not fall for it because you guys put in supposedly a new sump pump and a new hot water heater so how would it fail? Currently, I've been waiting at home for two days for them to come service the unit. They have never shown up and every time I call them to see why they have not shown up they tell me the technician is at another job before mine and he is on the way. He must have spent the night at those jobs because he has never shown up. my guess is that they have their money so the hell with it the customer. I would never recommend them to anyone. read more

Great work the two plumbers did. BUT the Salesman overcharged us big time. We got confused with all the pricing and information the salesman kept telling us. I told him we were very confused. (We are seniors) he was pushy .... Telling us how inexpensive Waldrop was .... Etc... we ended up paying over $1200 for a not high priced new toilet ... the shut off valve & line alone was $300. We never saw invoice with all broken down u til I checked our email. We also got a new water pressure valve which ran $800. The salesman scared us that it was beginning to wear out and if it did our floor would have to be busted up because it ran through the front of house to garage. Pressure was 110. The Salesman pushed to have work done that day ! I guess he did not want us to cancel ... we wanted a different toilet and he said it would cost more to install and they would have to order it .... We ended up getting same toilet we had installed last year from Lowe's. The plumbers were professional but the Salesman... not honest. Rating our experience with the Salesman below. Our Air Conditioner quit. I called Waldrop but they could not come until perhaps the next day. I called another outfit and got an appointment for late that afternoon. Yea! Then the Waldrop truck pulled up. OK, I and my bed-bound wife needed cooling. Do you remember when you would take a car in for brake pads and the mechanic would find a leak in the brake line and a worn rotor, oh yeah and the shocks need replacement! The technician quickly found the problem, a burnt relay, and had to replace the whole board it was on. *Let me give you some of my bono fides: Forty years in motors and controls. Three years in instrumentation. Three years with electrical contractors.* Had I been physically able, I would have soldered on an "ice cube relay". $15 in parts and half an hour labor to repair the board with parts I would have had on the truck. The tech had to drive across town to get a new board, (roughly $350). While he had, me he tried pretty hard to convince me that I needed new capacitors for both motors, one was priced $260+, the other $280+ plus labor. I declined. I have replaced these type capacitors before. Never paid more than $10-$25 each, often less, at Grainger, Lowes, etc. So, I got a $15 problem fixed for $350, plus labor, total about $450. Being in the construction industry and not having time to do it myself. I called and set up an appointment thinking this was going to be an easy process. I needed an outside faucet replaced and a drain line unclogged on a vanity. They charged $135 just to come out which they rescheduled. They charged over $500 to replace outside faucet to an existing line which all they had to do was unscrew the old faucet and replace new one. They charged $100 to unclog a vanity which was easy to take off P trap clean and re-install. Total bill being over $700. After speaking to customer service they said it was the national average. Maybe in Hawaii. These prices are beyond ridiculous. They did give my wife a quote which she does not know what these things cost. read more

They worked constantly and professionally. My water heater stopped working. The technician said I needed a new water heater. I let him replace it for 2,500, and STILL had no hot water for 2 days after the replacement. They sent another tech out a few days later, and he said the my issue was electrical. I replaced a breaker myself and have had no issues with hot water since. A simple fix ended up costing thousands, all because the original tech wasn't thorough with his diagnosis, even after I paid an expensive diagnostic fee. Waldrop stood behind the original employee and only offered a $130 refund. This happened a few months ago, but I was just reminded about how upset I was because a lady named Esther, from their office, just called and left a message about scheduling someone to come out and perform a maintenance check on my air conditioner for $79. So that $79 can turn into another thousand dollar upsell? No ma'am!! I hate it when companies take advantage of those who don't know enough to question what they recommend. That's dirty. And although I can't do anything about it at this point, I'll make sure others know my experience so that they can at least make an informed decision. It's not my desire to get anything for free, neither do I want to needlessly hurt a business. However, my experience wasn't good...and they shouldn't be able to just get away with it. read more

If I could give Waldrop negative stars, I would. We called Waldrop because our heat stopped working downstairs. A technician came out and said we had cracks in the heat exchangers of BOTH of our units. She also said we were in danger of carbon monoxide poisoning and shut off our heat. She sent a salesman out in the afternoon, and he quoted us a bill of $18,000+ to replace our units with a "basic" system. An "efficient" system would put us in the ballpark of $24,000+. He also warned us that we should buy 3 or 4 additional carbon monoxide detectors (we already have 2), and he insinuated that we were in grave danger if we ran our heat until they replaced our units. In the meantime, we called a second company whose technician said we had no cracks. He charged us a service charge and left. He said we should use our heat and sleep calmly and safely that night. A third company came out yesterday. The technician affirmed the second company's opinion. He even took our units apart and investigated to make sure there weren't any cracks. The "cracks" that the Waldrop technician noted were actually creases from manufacturing. He didn't want to charge a service fee at all. He said if anything, we might need a new flame sensor. Both the second and third companies told us that Waldrop uses scare tactics to sell people expensive units. I'm appalled and dismayed that these people are taking advantage of others. They scared us, manipulated us, and tried to use our concern for our family's safety in order to make money. If you are currently using Waldrop or considering them, I beg you to get a second opinion. I had the worst experience with Waldrup Plumbing and Heating and urge anyone considering their services to look elsewhere. Our TXV part failed, and their technician, Clark, insisted the entire condenser needed replacing but refused to provide an estimate for a new system. Clark returned alone, took a lunch break before finishing, and warned us about freon theft. Later, our AC wasn't cooling, and we found freon caps in the yard.Clark came back late, got confrontational, called my husband a liar, and drove away without fixing anything. We spoke to Esther, who rescheduled, but they canceled and refused service due to the altercation. Clark also made inappropriate sexual innuendos, making us uncomfortable.We discovered water dripping onto the AC's wires and had to call the Holly Springs fire department, who confirmed the fire risk. Waldrup hung up on the HVAC specialist from the fire department. Another technician found the condenser improperly installed. Waldrup's incompetence and unprofessionalism were infuriating. We can't comment on their work because they didn't make it to our door. We set up an appointment to repair a water leak. Their earliest appointment was for 8 days out, so we got on the schedule. One hour before they were supposed to arrive we received a call that they were too busy and couldn't come out. We were told they MIGHT be able to "squeeze us in" the following day, but there was no guarantee because they had a full schedule that day as well. They then said the next appointment would be the following week! When asked why WE were being bumped and not given any priority for the following day there was no explanation given. We decided to do business with another company, as we couldn't trust anyone who would treat customer with such total disregard. read more

After "routine" maintenance on our service contract, a salesman came out and gave a price quotation on one of our units. Before the service call, both units were working fine. After a few hours, I noticed the temperature in the house continued to rise although both units were running. I called about this and was told a technician would be out the next day. I decided to look around for myself. I found that the power to both the units outside was disconnected. I don't know if this was negligence or a ploy to make me more eager to buy a new system. Waldrop will NOT get anymore of my business and I have requested a refund for the remainder of my service contract. read more

Waldrop let me know via text message who the service tech would be (picture & name) so I knew who would be knocking at my door. He was very friendly and professional, asked if we were having any issues that he should know about prior to performing the maintenance check which I like. He took pictures as he went along with his system check and showed them to us as he explained what he did every step of the way.
