Wow, well...fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I came here to write about a bad FedEx experience and realized...I have already written that exact same thing...and forgot about it. DO NOT SEND YOUR FEDEX PACKAGES HERE. The packages aren't being scanned when they arrive here, and so they look like they are on a truck for days. They will say "unavailable for pickup"...forever. And they are actually available for pickup. Here's my boring shipping story: Thursday morning at 5am the FedEx tracking said "on vehicle for delivery" and "should arrive before 9am". Then it updated to say, should arrive before end of day Thursday. Then it updated to say, should arrive by end of Friday (today). But, there was no new timestamp since the 5am vehicle scan... Since there was no time stamp on this package since 5am...I guessed that there probably is a scan that happens when the driver transfers the package to a FedEx/Walgreens for customer pickup...and maybe it didn't happen. I went to Walgreens, even though FedEx said "not available for pickup", and told them it was probably there, and the dimensions. They searched for it a little, and then tried to turn me away. I pointed to a box that could be it and was like "what about that?" and they were like "no, those are shipments for Walgreens, like our supplies and stuff" I pressed them further and they checked it, and it was mine. I signed for it on their scanner and a few seconds later got a push notification from FedEx "your item is now available for pickup!" These employees need more training and organization and/or FedEx needs to make sure these get scanned when they hand them over to Walgreens! read more

I came down here to pick up some groceries at the end of the work day before heading back to the house. I wanted to avoid the crowds at the nearby Carrs across the street or go to the chaotic mess that is the midtown Walmart. This Walgreens location is located on the corner of Northern Lights Blvd. and Minnesota Dr. across from the Aurora Village Carrs and adjacent to Starbucks. One of the busiest intersections during rush hour, I had no desire to go to the supermarket and just wanted to be in a less crowded place. Granted, the supermarkets are cheaper for food items than Walgreens and they have larger selections, but I just wanted to do a quick in and out and not worry about parking. That was a mistake. The evening when I came in, most of the shelves were unbelievably barren or poorly stocked. I was hoping to get a few snack and drink items for the office and not have to spend additional money eating out on lunch break every day. That wasn't the case here. I was looking for 4 or 6 pack bottled water or ice tea to place in a fridge with limited space at work. Unfortunately, the Walgreens around town don't have bottle packs that size or on the times I was there, just 24/28 packs of bottled water. Ice tea bottles would have to be purchased separately. Looking at the shelves more closely, there were many empty areas in one aisle alone. It'd be a stretch to think that this store could sell out items consistently if Carrs across the way has a wider variety and discounts every single day. There are items that are better deals when they are on sale, but unavailability is a major issue. This was not a one-time thing. I have noticed that in the past several weeks every time I came in to get something. Another major problem here is their pharmacy. It was temporarily closed due to staffing and people who have prescriptions here would have to notify their doctor's office to arrange a pick up at a different location. I'm sure a lot of customers were not happy about that. The employees are friendly and helpful but their hands are tied as to the problems this store is having. This would have been a convenient spot to avoid Carrs if low inventory and being short-handed weren't a common occurrence here. read more

I have transferred my prescriptions elsewhere due to unsafe practices at this pharmacy. I do like this store for seasonal items and bath and body items. But I have a family member who still uses the pharmacy here, and once again today, their prescription was not filled according to the physician's directions. The last time I was here I was assured that this pharmacy was taking drastic corrective measures to fix the issues here. Clearly that is not the case. I stand by my previous assertion this pharmacy is unsafe and should be shut down. read more

I haven't been to this Walgreen's in a very long time, but I knew the other closest location didn't have one important item so I gave it a try. Five stars because everything went great. The store was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the store seemed well stocked. The aisle for item one was easy to find, bit after maybe a minute of looking someone came over to help me. I should have got his name! We found item one, so I challenged him with my second item, which I already know is obscure. He knew exactly where to go, it was great! In and out in less than five minutes with someone available to help; that's great! read more

Dropped off a prescription for toothpaste. After waiting 1/2 hour I asked if it was ready and the pharmacist wouldn't fill it because he didn't think the instructions from the dentist to brush for 5 minutes before bedtime , spit and don't rinse mouth for 20 minutes were specific enough. No phone call to tell me they wouldn't fill it, I could have waited there for hours and they didn't care. Incompetent pharmacist and poor customer service. read more

Walgreens pharmacy and online options are limited unless you have their App. They are understaffed with conscientious workers. I am relieved we were able to transfer our prescriptions to Costco and Bernie's Pharmacy. I signed up online for a two hour rapid COVID test. The gave me the 48 hour test. I needed the results earlier because I was on day three of symptoms. read more

I never leave reviews but this experience was the worst. I had a prescription that I need for an ear infection and they were so rude and tried to charge us 1000 for ear drops even after insurance. Finally got the store manager involved to clean up the mess and sure enough the prescription was actually 40 dollars. The guy with brown spiky hair in the pharmacy has no clue what he's doing and was rude to my mom as well. read more

This place is HORRENDOUS. I was waiting for an hour for a Covid test that takes literally less than 3 minutes. When I called to let the manager know that the person helping me took forever and a half, then told me that there must be something wrong with what I was reporting. I told her to roll back the footage and watch. I hate being a Karen, however this was so atrocious I felt others needed to know. read more

This review is solely based upon the pharmacy. They mess up my medication every time I visit, which results in me having incorrect medical supplies or going without needed medication for over a month. You can pay out of pocket for needles and syringes if you have a prescription that requires injecting on file. I've had to do this countless times, since they always give me the wrong type of needle, and somehow always the most dangerous ones. The only reason I keep coming back is the extremely convenient location, and that they sell the brand of black hair dye I like. The ATM is in a very poor location, not private at all and doesn't process checks. Honestly, don't go here. read more

The one star is in regard to the store manager at the time and the Western Union (WU) service Walgreens "offers". WU offers a money transfer service with which the recipient may answer a security question created by the sender to pick up the funds, instead of a state-issued ID. I specifically utilized Western Union because I did not have my identification at the time, and Walgreens on Northern Lights advertises as a certified Western Union agent. NOT TRUE! The manager at the time not only refused to complete the transfer (against Walgreen's agreement with Western Union), but he was rude, snide, and clearly uneducated on how Western Union works. I called Western Union and they told me that as an agent, Walgreens/the manager were required to complete the transaction, so long as I was giving information that was matching what he had. My information was correct, and the agents of Western Union on the other end of the line were willing to speak with the manager at their Walgreens location, but he refused. When I asked him to call Western Union back to see if there was anything he could do, he again refused, told the other employee there not to complete the transaction, and that was that. I was taken aback by his behavior but he could care less. I reported his behavior with Walgreens' 1-800 customer complaints department, and never received follow-up. After all the drama and wasted time, I went to Carrs Aurora across the street and they completed the transfer, honoring their agreement with Western Union. read more

It's a pain to get a hold of someone bu phone but when I finally did Robert went out and beyond to help me with my online order and questions. We even got disconnected and he called me back. There ending up being a mistake with my order and he called back and third time and explained how we could fix it. This is actually my favorite Walgreens because it seems this is the online Walgreens that understands coupons and the policy and I've never really encountered a bad sales associate here. I literally go here all the way from rabbit creek because my local Walgreens has bad sales associates and bad attitude most of the time except for a few of them. read more

Arrive for Covid vaccine. I had an appointment. Showed up 15 min prior to appointment. They had two desks. One for prescription pick up and the other for vaccine check in. The line for script pickup has 8 people waiting. Nobody at the vaccine counter. Go to vaccine check in counter. The staff ignored me and kept filling scripts for about 5 minutes. Finally this lady says "can I help you" from across the room. I tell her I'm here to check in for my vaccine. She says in a rude tone "you'll have to wait in line like everybody else". Didn't say anything. Go to the long line and wait like everybody else! 30 minutes later I get to the front of line. Fill out the paperwork there at the cash register while everybody else is waiting behind me for their script. Then I'm sent to the waiting area. There I sit for about 30 more minutes. Listening to some guy that's been waiting in line for his vaccine yell at the cashier about his wait for his "appointment". So we're over an hour at the zoo since I arrived and long past my "appointment". I'm late getting back to work. Finally someone from the front comes slowly walking in to grab the vaccine and pull me into the side room. She has no gloves. She goes to get them. Finally gives me the shot. This is my primary pharmacy. Usually the drive through takes 30 minutes with a long line of cars. Snail's pace. Same with the line inside. I got a text the other day, on a Friday at 8PM, that said my script is ready for pickup. Drive over on Saturday afternoon. The drive through is empty! Jackpot!! Not! A sign on the window says the pharmacy is closed for the weekend. How convenient to be closed on the weekend when everybody is off work to get there scripts! Then Monday midday I get a text that says my script is delayed. Then a text of a partial refill ready a day later. Figured I'd wait till they had it together. Finally on Saturday, a week since I tried to pick up, I get a new text says my script is filled. Hurray! Now debating on if I should waste my time driving over there. Maybe just call the doctor on Monday and have it filled at Carrs. Worst Walgreens ever. Avoid if you can! read more

Took me 35 minutes to get my prescription and I was only the third car in line at their drive thru on a Saturday afternoon. This is simply the worst pharmacy in the city. Unhelpful and Unknowledgeable staff look for ways to not do their job or communicate with their customers. I discovered this after going 4 separate times to pick up prescriptions that were not ready or unavailable. We go elsewhere after wasting a lot of time. The worst experience getting a prescription filled I ever had. I am in healthcare and recognize community pharmacy is challenging. However this experience was beyond bad. They erred everything step of the way and took no responsibility. It took 9 1/2 hours to get a prescription filled for an ACUTE condition nearly warranting a return to the emergency department. The only way I got these scripts filled was by calling three times and then going to the store and waiting even though they said meds were ready for pickup. This is a shout out to the pharmacist, Warner H. Wolf, who totally helped me out when Alaska Airlines lost my luggage on my way to Anchorage. All of my medications were in my carryon, that they checked when I was on the plane, and it was a serious situation. He realized that, and did whatever he could for me to get my medications as soon as possible. That included figuring out work arounds with my insurance company when my doctor wasn't able to call me back in time (it was a Saturday), finding me the cheapest rate for the medication when I had to refill some before the due date, and keeping in touch with me throughout the day so I knew what was going on. It was very important that I get that medicine that day and I was really nervous about it. Warner Wolf's perseverance and dedication made it happen. Thumbs up to this pharmacist and the pharmacy who hired him. read more

Pharmacy techs are Incompetent and need retrained or replaced. from my insurance calling them and myself, they couldn't input data correctly. Got the prescription sent to a different Walgreens and it only took 5 minutes and they also said the forms they willed out were not correct. They deserve minus 2 stars. read more

Admittedly the nicest Walgreens I've ever been in. The pharmacy looked freakin' high tech even. I came in to fill a prescription which got done in a timely manner. Great selection of toiletries, health and beauty stuff, seasonal, and even a few food items. I like the store because the lighting is less obnoxious than most drug stores and the layout is very open and airy. The air seems to actually circulate or they simply don't heat it to a million degrees like most places seem to. Good for us claustrophobic and cooler temp loving types. Glad to know this is the closet Walgreens to our house, although I do wish it were open 24/7. This is the only reason I'm giving 4 rather than 5 stars. The only 24/7 Walgreens I know of that's close to us is the one on Northern Lights and Seward Highway. read more

Nice store. First time I used the pharmacy. My prescription was waiting for me and there was no line. That's made me super happy. Pharmacy lady (named Cherrie) called me honey twice which seemed a little weird. They also got my first name wrong. Hope my insurance company figures it out. There are some creepy people hanging out outside. I was hoping the people sitting in the truck next to my car weren't going to lunge for my drugs. read more

Well don't I feel silly. I was fairly new to Yelp and gave a few businesses reviews. I had always been happy with Walgreens and gave a wonderful review. The last three times I was in there I did not get the advertised sale price on the items. I also have not seen any of the usual employees. They obviously have some sort of change going on. That's ok businesses have changes all the time. This change of having to watch the price I am being charged at the cash register is too much of a change for me. I expect to get the posted price and don't often look until I get home. Maybe I won't stop going to Walgreens but I certainly will stop going to this Walgreens. I want to be fair as often times business lose a couple of key employees and have to hire new people who are not as experienced. I am very patient and to deal with that but the major job of a cashier is to accurately ring up the items and if I can't count on that I will quit going. read more

This review is only for the pharmacy. Skyler should be the only person that works in their pharmacy. It is exhausting constantly having my intelligence questioned. Don't ask me if I'm sure that the name I gave you is my name. I'm pretty sure I would know if I had submitted a name change on my own name, along with knowing other vitals like my birthday and address. They're constantly screwing up the order of my name when it hasn't changed at all. If I receive a text that says my prescription is ready, that should mean it's ready and I'm going to pick it up. Don't question my ability to read by telling me I read the text wrong and it said refill instead. I'm at this pharmacy twice a month, so why is it so difficult to maintain consistency? Skyler is the only employee that seems to have the intelligence and logic to do his job. He goes above and beyond. He corrected the pharmacy's error of changing my name, which I still don't understand how that happened since I literally haven't changed a thing on my end. He's efficient, understanding, and thorough. SUPER professional employee and Walgreens should be elated and proud to have him. read more

I went to the drive thru and was told maybe 20 minutes so I should park and then Go back in line. But do not wait in the driver thru. He the. We get all of our prescriptions for our family through Walgreens. The staff are usually quick, friendly and happy to help. My wife and I stopped in at this location as it is convenient to work and our kids school. We had a question regarding what we had paid out of pocket for a prescription earlier in the day and we're hoping to get some advice about lowering the out of pocket by getting 90 day supply or other methods. In the past the Walgreens pharmacy staff at other locations have offered advice and suggestions unsolicited to help make better financial decisions about our prescriptions. Tonight we ran into Ed. Apparently Ed is not interested in assisting customers or offering the slightest bit of help. He was rude, condescending and argumentative. My wife had to walk away as she was not going to allow him to treat her this way. I on the other hand am used to dealing with people such as him and was not going to allow him to chase me off. He said they were too busy to offer any assistance. I turned and showed him that I was the only person in that part of the store. He then complained about being short staffed and attempted to lecture me about how busy he was and that we we're wasting his time. I was now hooked so I continued to politely ask for assistance and ask why the service they provide in this store is different than what they offer in all of their other pharmacies I have used around the country. Ed continued with his rude and condescending tone. He refused to help us and said he would pass it off to people the next day. He made minimal efforts to help and was unsuccessful in answering any of our questions. I think I know why they have him working the slower shift in a slower location. I have already put in a call to the pharmacy manager and am in the process of switching my prescriptions to Costco. It is too bad as Walgreens is convenient and I have been willing to pay more for the convenience and there service. Avoid this pharmacy at all costs especially if Ed is working! read more

From what I have heard about CVS they are far better than our Walgreen's here in Anchorage. That's too bad, because I do love a good drug store, having been to a few outside (San Diego in particular: awesome!) and in Europe (where they are called by a different name: Chemist is one). This review is basically for all Walgreen's here in Anchorage. Our Walgreen's in general is very disappointing in that the prices are high for the most part, the stores are messy, (including this one) and the selection is slim. In fact, they remind me of a somewhat glorified 7/11 store, (mainly because of the weird selection of travel size food items) which is truly a bummer. I do like the website w/ emails though, and appreciate the fact that you can order to ship to store (with free shipping) items that they don't have locally. For that, I will make my 2 stars 3. But seriously guys, do we really need a Walgreen's on practically every corner? read more
