So my wife placed a pick up order and sent me to pick it up at the store. I got to the store and an employee greeted me and asked if there was anything they could help me with. I said no, I am just picking up an order. She said great, the pick up counter is all the way in the back. So instead of wandering around I knew where to go. Picking up the order was very easy and quick. On the way out I checked out a few of the soaps and hand sanitizers near the checkout area. It always amazes me just how many different sentences they have, which is great but that brings me to my only thing I don't like about the store. Bath and Body Works located at 800 E Diamond Blvd, Anchorage AK 99515 My family and I went into the Bath and Body Works in the Diamond Center mall and the cashier ruined my shopping experience in from of my family. I was searching for the beach chapstick and asked the cashier as she walked past if they had it and she said they didn't have it. I then looked around when I was and located it. During the time I was looking for the beach chapstick I opened the drawer that was directly below where it should have been. I didn't see it so I closed the drawer and located the chapstick directly in front of me was that hiding in plain sight. While checking out with all my items that totaled $75.84 after discounts the cashier asked if I was an employee. I said no and the cashier replied "you are absolutely not allowed to open the drawers." In a rude and condescending tone. I said I'm sorry, I won't do it again and proceed with my checkout. After leaving my family and I were taking about how rude it was for the cashier to act like that especially after not assisting me in locating the Chapstick. The comment "you are absolutely not allowed to open the drawers" stuck with all of us. My husband said we should return the items based on our customer experience and we all agreed. No business should receive a customer's money when the employee is rude. While returning the items my husband informed the same employee that we were returning the items based on her attitude. The employee said she was sorry for the way she acted and my husband said "we are absolutely returning these based on your attitude and the way you treated us." My husband said there are no signs informing customers not to open the drawers where extra items are located. The employee agreed and said you are correct there aren't any signs informing customers. The last two times I went here they didn't have what I wanted and I had to place an order online and pick it up and the 5th Ave which is consistently better stocked. The reason for the super low review is my last experience with service here was SHOCKINGLY bad. When I arrived there were hardly any customers in the store. I went in looking for something specific, and the floor clerk offered help. Surprisingly, she didn't know if they had it or not (weird since it's one of their most popular products.) She disappeared and never came back. I walked around a bit and couldn't find it. I saw the same clerk standing behind the counter gossiping with her coworkers. She made direct eye contact with me and made no effort to acknowledge the status of her effort to find what i asked for. This was a not a teenager, but woman in her mid-30's. This should be an essential business because of the amount of hand sanitizer I have gone through here this past year . So much better than run of the mill Purell no scent. With Cucumber Melon or Champagne Toast scents that aren't over powering using hand sanitizers ain't so bad! When The family runs out of wall scents, we miss them and got to make a run. The spring collection is in and everything is fruity or floral. I especially like the beach themes and pineapple pina colada, mango mai tai island margaritas reminds me of Hawaii or Florida. I guess that's what they do, they transform you to a place in time that's familiar and reminds you of bourbon maple or spiced apple or cinnamon. I don't come to these type of stores all that often, but came because a friend loves the candles here. When I first stopped in I noticed the nightlight air fresheners and decided to get one. Not that my house is all that stinky, but it does smell a little like dogs. I like fresh smells like lemon and eucalyptus, so it was pretty easy to talk me into getting a simple air freshener. It lasted a really long time so I came in again to get a refill and this time tried lemoncello, which is very nice and light. All the staff have been really helpful and great, both times, which is rare. There's usually one in the bunch, but I haven't noticed that here. My sister came with me during the second visit and got a nightlight air freshener for herself. There are a multitude of all things bath and body works, from oils to hand sanitizers and more. Will shop again and recommend for gifts. read more

Oh the smells! I come here a few times a month for most of my home fragrance needs. They are located between Ulta and Footlocker on the first floor of the Dimond Center. Their workers always greet you and offer you a basket as items here can get heavy. They always offer to help you pick out scents and just make your experience easier. I love to peruse and check out what's new. Their 3-wick candles are on the pricier side of $25/pop however they are long lasting and the smells really permeate throughout large spaces. They have 3-wick candle sales often so it's rare I pay full price. Also, the first week of December is when they have their annual National Candle Day Sale and you can get 3-wick candles for less than half the normal price. They have special hours for this special sale usually opening as early as 6am! This past winter I was 9months pregnant and sent my spouse with my wishlist. All the ladies thought it was cute of him and they helped him find all my candles. I was so greatful. I'm also big on their wallflowers and their 24/7 light up wallflower plug-ins. Great for the bathroom/nightlights. Their hand sanitizers, hand sprays, and hand soaps are also elite. They have fragrances, body sprays, room sprays, and 2 wick candles to meet your needs also. Love bath and body works. I really only buy hand soap and hand sanitizer, but they have such a variety of those two things I highly recommend this place. Now, normally it's $6.50+ for one hand soap, you just have to know how to shop to get it cheaper. Sign up for emails (frequent 20% off coupons which you can still use up to 3 days after the coupons expire if you ask), shop when it's 6 for $20 type of deals. Wait for a $10 off $30 and stock up. I love the variety of soaps, they have plain vanilla types, fruity varieties, fun drink scents (red wines, mai tai, pina colada, peach Bellini). Kitchen scents like lemon (gets rid of cooking smells left on your hands), eucalyptus, and all holidays come with all sorts of fun scents. Oh, and lots of florals (which I hate but lots of people love). Why not pay around $2-3 (after coupons and deals) for your favorite smelling hand soaps and treat yourself and impress your guests? Also, everything makes great gifts- they have hand sanitizers that say "thank you" and they are great for stocking stuffers or goodie bags for birthday parties. read more
