June 2026. I want to recognize and thank Cindy at the Pharmacy counter in Beverly MA on Elliott St. I was trying to fill a prescription, and the med i needed was out of stock. I could not wait for her to call around to different places, so she said she would do it and then call or text me when she found the medicine at another Walgreens. To be honest, I was not expecting a call back because perhaps she was too busy, BUT, a couple hours later, she did call me, and told me a nearby store to pick it up at. She was very polite. Some might say, "well of course, she was doing her job", BUT, there are a lot of employees who do NOT do their job once the customer is gone from the counter--they forget about them. Cindy did not. Communication within this department is poor. I went with my son to pick up the prescribed medications from the hospital, but I was told that only one of the four prescribed medications was ready. They asked me to come back the next day, so I returned home with just that single item. The problem was that the quantity of this pills was incorrect. I went back the following day, only to be told that the rest of the medication wouldn't arrive for another week. In the end, I had to make five separate trips to collect everything. You really need to double-check the quantity of the medication. I called the pharmacy again today because four pills were missing, but they insisted that such a mistake was impossible. Why would I have any reason to lie? Among them, one pharmacist was grateful for the effort made to find another pharmacy in an attempt to get the medication quickly. read more

So I'm switching it up from my usual bars, restaurants and brewery reviews. Today I'll review a pharmacy, yep a pharmacy. I had a quick trip to the North Shore to visit in-laws and I was flying out a couple days later on a business trip out of Logan. What I forgot to think of on my trip is that my antibiotic supply for a recent spider bite was nearly exhausted. I had one more refill on this script but it was called in to a Walgreens near my home in NY and it was a Sunday. I decided to visit the Beverly store first thing Monday morning to see if there was any way I could transfer my reservation there or have my Doctor call them. I was greeted by a female pharmacist who listened to my shortened version of my dilemma and she quickly said "no problem let me see what I can do". She found me in the Walgreens system and was able to transfer my order to Beverly. Next challenge was to make sure NY insurance would cover it. She asked me to give her 10 minutes so I did a quick shopping spree around the store. I returned in what was probably 8 minutes and she had my order filled and fully covered by insurance. I know this isn't the most interesting review but the exceptional care and attention I was given was honestly unexpected and refreshing. Great job to this employee and her team. read more

Went to this location on a late night to get some items and the overnight staff was not friendly at all. If it wasn't for the fact that the cashier had to tell me the total I don't think I would have ever heard their voice. The location was fully stocked but I didn't care for the customer service. If you must go to this location go early in the day. read more

The pharmacy is seriously understaffed, to the point where driving to the store to ask the pharmacy staff a question would make sense, except they are too busy even when you're in the store. You can hear the phone in the pharmacy ringing continuously and constantly but you never hear anyone pick it up. On more than 1 occasio, I went to pick up a prescription and the price was so high (in the hundreds of dollars) that I knew that it couldn't possibly be right so I asked if they applied either my insurance or Medicare (I have both) and they insisted that they had but when I called Medicare, they told me that no one had "run the prescription through." So back I went to the pharmacy and insisted that they "run" the RX through and miraculously (sarcasm) the correct price appeared. I spend more time on trying to get my meds refilled than I do on anything else in my life. It does not and should not be this bad. read more

I come here to pick up my prescription and everytime you go through the drivethru you are ignored. Last time I waited almost 30 minutes and just had to end up going inside. Today, the light was on indicating that the drive thru was open, I watched as many workers walked by the window (which was half closed) and ignored me. I waited about 10 minutes as I saw they had a huge line inside and then I called (no answer). I called the front desk and they had to tell me the drive thru was closed. There were also cars behind me waiting. It would have been very easy for someone just tell me it was closed instead of ignoring their customers and turn the lights off outside. I'm 9 months pregnant and the last thing I want to do is walk inside somewhere that has drive through service. Don't offer the service if you do not want to attend to the cars outside. read more

There isn't enough room here to detail what I've been going through with the pharmacy at this location for the last few weeks, let alone every time I've refilled a script here over the last 9 months. I transferred to this location after dealing with the exact same runaround and shenanigans at another location I'd been at for over a decade (so we can't even blame a pandemic here--there's clearly systematic issues going back several years with this company). Things were seemingly ok for the first few months or so, there were no issues. But since last year, every single time I fill or pick up a script at this location, there's nothing but runaround and hassle. Pharmacy staff here for the most part don't seem to want to or even know how to do their jobs. My experience with multiple staff in the pharmacy, including the manager, has proven over and over again that nobody there knows how to process billing insurances. They're quick to blame the customer and the insurance but when all is said and done, the problem is always on Walgreens' end with the pharmacy techs and pharmacists not filling or billing things properly. The level of ineptitude, arrogance, and poor attitude here, coupled with a clear lack of decent work ethic, is mind-boggling. Due to this most recent runaround and lack of follow-through on filling a script that multiple calls to my insurances have repeatedly verified that said script is indeed covered, they continue to play games with me and have thus now lost a 20+ yr Walgreens pharmacy customer. If you want to avoid headaches and runarounds, I highly recommend anywhere but here. read more

Worst pharmacy experience of my life. Want to waste 3 hours? Go to Walgreens! They could not have been more condescending, did not help me at all when they interpreted my insurance in a way that made no sense. And this was literally after visiting 2 other Walgreens. No one mentioned this non-issue until I had been waiting for over an hour. Walked away with nothing but my original prescription. Never again! read more

I have been on hold with the pharmacy for over an hour. When I have had a message, it has said I have 1 person ahead of me. Three times it has rung through and I have either had the store hang up on me or put me back on hold. This is maddening, atrocious service, and the final nail in the coffin that I will never fill another prescription at any Walgreens. read more

After Rite Aid closed, my prescriptions were sent to Walgreen's on Elliott St. At first I wasn't happy but after several visits, I started to feel welcome by the staff and anytime I was looking for something, a staff person would actually take me to the site. Anytime I get a prescription filled it is always ready when I get there. I don't have to go and sit and wait, as I get a phone call that it is ready. Their stock is always filled and it is rare that I don't find what I am looking for. I would give this Walgreen's a good report especially their staff from the pharmacy to the check out person. When lines start to get long someone is called to help and so the processing of getting out is quite fast. (Hate those darn brown bags...they do rip...so now I bring my own cloth bags). read more

Used to be such a good pharmacy but recently they have gone down hill in a big way. I have missed doses and gone without medication for extended periods. They claim to be waiting for physicians approval but when I contact my physician they have not been contacted. read more

The Head pharmacist was absolutely terrible I just received a spinal fusion and sent my fiancé down there to pick up the prescriptions she was yelling at her and completely rude With the most unprofessional person we have ever dealt with I even had to get my pharmacist to talk to my primary care doctor while she's screaming through my fiancé cell phone on her phone and takes her phone out of my own fiancé's hand she's an absolute disgrace and needs to be fired from this establishment ASAP or I will never come back and do work with their pharmacy again read more

Nope. I'm not too happy with walgreens right now. I'm missing a prescription. Called 12 times since 7pm and got no answer whatsoever.

I went here to get a prescription filled. They told me it would be about 30 minutes but I chose to wait because I needed it filled immediately. After waiting 20 minutes the pharmacist told me that, actually, they didn't even have the drug in stock and wouldn't for another five days. I then payed for something up front and had to swipe me card multiple times. The cashier assured me I would only be charged once. When I checked my account history today I saw that I WAS charged double for the purchase. Never going back there. read more

I went to this Walgreens today and let me just say...I WILL be back!! I'm a Home Health Aid and take care of a woman with Dementia and memory issues. Shopping usually tends to be a battle with impulse grabs and wanting everything in sight. A treat ever now and again is fine however having memory issues buying multiple quantities is not encourage as they are used immediately especially candy bars. Alex, the cashier was WONDERFUL! I was able to push an item to him and shake my head and like he knew what I meant! It saved us from overbuying and the client getting upset with me! I felt compelled to stop back after my shift with the client and thank him personally!! It made my day! THANK YOU ALEX!! read more
