I had purchased pistachios yesterday from queens before closing no where near home. I came here to my local Walgreens to exchange them due to both the pistachios tasting stale. I asked to exchange them or get a refund and the cash register told me no. She told me to go back to where I originally got them from due to different inventory sizing. I have worked in retail before and I am allowed to return within 30 business days. You are allowed to return at any Walgreens, but they refused to service me. All Walgreens gets same sizing inventory. read more

They always answer the phone at the pharmacy with little to no waiting time ! Always polite and helpful at the pharmacy dept and helpful at the store as well. Only problem is it took some time to get them to let me use their bathroom as other Walgreens always do . I don't live in the neighborhood,but I like this pharmacy so much that I drive over 30 -45 minutes to get there and need to use a rest room before getting a vaccine and driving home (I'm old) .I also have a medical card saying that I may require the use of a bathroom . read more

Came here for an online pickup. They had to replace a bunch of my items because they were actually out of stock. Their paper goods section was entirely ransacked when I got there. Only single single rolls of paper towels. Their reserved parking says they'll bring your order out to you, but I had to go get it myself from the register. Pretty big store and nice people working there otherwise. read more

whenever i am in bensonhurst brooklyn i always make a pit stop at walgreens on 86th st to pick up a few goodies before heading back home. small parking lot that usually filled but i got lucky at 11pm. nicely stock and organized shelves , place is brightly lite and while roaming every aisle i start to recall what i need for my crib and its always paper towels, tissue paper. cereal, diet pepsi , ice cream, liquid soap, and i better stop cause i only have to hands to carry it all. pharmacy is closed but thats cool cause i dont need anything from that dept. damn i spent 63 bucks even with my walgreens card and i better get home soon or the ice cream will melt but its cool i got plenty of paper towels . read more

I was both a customer and employee to the company. Here is my review on both sides. Reason for closing: With Walgreens owning both Duane Reade and Rite Aid, the store quietly closed and the store across the street became the new Walgreens. Customer Experience: When the store first opened, it was a good store. All the workers greeted you and would come up to you to assist you. In the final days of this store, customer service quality dropped. The workers were visibly less happy, organization and cleanliness dropped. The employees stopped greeting people with a smile, there was a sensation of rush and wanting to get the day over with. There was a reduction in workers as well. There used to be a lot more workers on the floor, but they have dramatically reduced employees in its final days, but this also happened to all the Walgreens. You can tell the quality of the store overall was dropping. When I talked to the workers about the situation, they blame poor leadership and losing good workers. The former Rite Aid that was reformed as the new Walgreens never had the same energy as the previous store. People were quiet and it felt spiritless compared to the old store. Store Management: The business talks a great deal about creating a positive work environment and protecting the privacy of their employees, but it's all a lie. There wasn't a single manager that wasn't corrupt and/or incompetent in their ability to manage the store in some form. Good leadership requires training, earning the respect and trust of your employees, but all the store managers that ever managed this store failed at it in various ways. Many of the store mgrs merely followed what the previous store mgr does, none of them went to any special training to teach them the importance of proper leadership. Because of this, a lot of drama occurred. Cronyism and favoritism prevailed in the first years of the store; employee performance ratings were rigged. The favored had high scores and the unfavored had lower ratings, even sabotaged to get fired. Despite formal complaints to other managers and upper-management, the mgrs never suffered any visible punishment. The open door policy to protect the privacy of employees was a severe joke! Certain employees suffered retaliation, unjust persecution or accusations, and was set to fail at their job to push them out. Because the employees aren't fools to what's happening, this caused several to misbehave or quietly retaliate in their own ways. After a change in management, certain aspects of management improved, but relations between the workers and mgrs became tense and awkward due to new intense management methods. In the final change of management, the store was in decline. Organization dropped, staff roster attendance was reduced, the store was poorly managed by an absentee mgr and quality of the crew. Had Walgreens deployed a more democratic system into the mix, they woud've known that the employees favored two Assistant Mgrs the most and wanted them to lead the store. They showed respect to their employees, never abused their power, knew how to manage the workers, and we loved them back. Under their leadership, work was done without drama and there was mutual trust and respect, something all the mgrs never earned. Wages & Reducing Workers: The company paid smidge above mim-wage, but not as good as Starbucks or Costco. The employees were promised to have higher wages as they continued their service, but we only had incremental 15-cent increases. We were promised higher wages after a certain amount of time with the company, but that only happened due to the mim-wage increase. When the city steadily increased the mim-wage to $15, many felt our paychecks didn't properly reflect how our wages should be. All of our wages are above what Walgreens wanted to pay us. Instead of giving the senior crew more money in reflection of their service, it was equal with the newbies. Even with the Assistant Mgrs, they only made $1 more than the service clerks; most companies would pay $3-$7 more. Since the $15 mim-wage, work hrs and attendance dramatically dropped. We used to have 3 guys on the floor for opening and closing. These days, it's only the cashier and mgr during the morning and 2 workers to close. Despite having the billions to pay for it, they intentionally shorted the work staff to save money; that only added stress to workers expected to do more when they could've done the right thing and staff the proper numbers. Overall: Walgreens is miser with unnecessary headaches. The so-called oversight is a joke if there's management connections. Many of the mgrs can't manage and that has created so much drama to soap opera levels. Unless this is your first job (maybe not even then), I don't recommend you working at this place. Go to Chipotle or Starbucks, at least they'll help pay for your education and you'll have better wages. read more

Latest pharmacy addition to the neighborhood, i like this Walgreens most because it has a 24 hour pharmacy drive thru! Decent size inside and you can tell the managers want to make a good impression because they are on top of the workers to make sure they are friendly and efficient. They just opened a couple of months ago and you can tell a few things are yet to be added inside, but it looks like they will have a nice sized refrigerator section and a spot for quick eats like sandwiches and salads. They also have an LED display outside that advertises daily sales and a small parking lot, welcome to the neighborhood Walgreens! The one thing i must warn you about is their generic brand "classic soda" - tried the "strawberry cherry escape" and... well... if you like cough medicine you will love this! read more

I always develop my photos here because they always have great promotions. but this is one of the newer walgreens in bkllyn and it's really nice, bright and big. Sometimes prices are a bit pricer compare to rite aid.but love that they have a large parking lot of the store. makes stopping here so convenient! read more

I have been getting photos printed here (online orders) for the past 3 years. The quality is always excellent. There was a young guy who worked here who was super nice. Other check out staff is ok, as expected from drugstore staff. I know it's not an easy job, but I wish the workers knew (and everyone else in the world for that matter) how much of a difference you can make in another person's life by being friendly. I hear it closed down, but the Rite Aid across the street is now a Walgreens, so I can only hope they don't disappoint next time I order photos! read more

Very clean and spacious Walgreens location. Staff is pretty friendly, they have a nice selection of grab and go food like sandwiches,fruit,salads etc, aisles are decent size and they have a nice selection. So why only three stars and why do I shop most of the times at the less organized Rite Aid across the street? Because Walgreens has the dumbest reward program ever. The decide what you get points on and its never stuff I buy (Makeup? Laxatives? tampons???) apparently I have to be a constipated lady to get some value here. Now Rite Aid, dirty,surly Rite Aid gives me 20 percent off everything every ding dong day! So you know this living in NY thing gets expensive so if I can save a few sheckles on my razor blades and giant boxes of Sour Patch Kids I can look past the aesthetics. I came here to pick up some Woolite laundry detergent, the store has a nice selection and is super clean. I could not find the Woolite that I was looking for, so I asked someone and they directed me to the aisle where it was and helped me locate it. They closed this Walgreens down because they bought out Rite Aid which there was one across the street. Tried calling the new Walgreens (previously Rite Aid) with a prescription question because the website status wasn't clear. Stayed on hold for about an hour then gave up. Finally called again to ask for the store manager and was informed that this is normal because they are working on prescriptions from both the old and new store. Maybe you should hire additional staffing to handle the load rather than wasting customers' time. read more

I have to say that the staff at this store is so friendly and helpful. They really take the time to help you. I needed a passport picture retakem for my young son. The post office refused the first photo that I had done at cvs..I ran to Walgreens and the young man took the picture properly and was so kind to my little boy. I love this store read more

I give to them. They are faster and cleaner than the cvs a couple of blocks away. But their communications skills are terrible. I receive messages from them asking me to call back but they don't explain what for. The pharmacy closes at 7 and when i call they are busy and leave me on hold for long periods of time. So worried maybe it has something to do with the prescription i recently picked up i stop taking it. Well a few days later i get fed up and call customer service. Waiting on hold again, not as bad as the pharmacy. Terrible sound quality on their phone lines and the tech just doesn't listen to what im saying. After explaining in slow baby terms i find out that they are just calling to see how im doing with my medication. Are you kidding me!!! Why couldnt they just ask that on their phone messages? If there was a zero star they would get that! So I went in to pick up pictures from the picture department all was well until I got home and found one of the 8x7 pictures was missing. so I went back and the lady that was there checked the machine and found that it got stuck in the printer. She was nice and apologetic, as I got home and went through the pictures I saw someone else's pictures with my pictures and some of my pictures were missing. So I went back and the "photo guy" that was there was such a asshole he took the pictures and slammed them on the counter like I did something wrong and started counting the pictures and slamming them down. His sarcasm was so disrespectful he said " your pictures are all here have a nice day"( and throws the pictures on the table) his name was (MATHIAS). So I asked to speak the the manager (JUSTIN MARINO) who was just as sarcastic as the photo guy , who did absolutely nothing to help and when I told him how the photo guy treated us he simply said "I'll speak to him". *****( Corporate I hope u read this because these are the people you have working and representing your company.
