Not even worth 1 star . It's a shame that you overcharge people for their prescriptions on a fixed income with additional extra help . My husband went in to pick up my muscle relaxer and at the Walgreens near Silver Springs this medicine was 3.26 when I had it filled in January , you charged me 21.86 . The same Dr sent over my prescription . Catherine told me I need to call my insurance company to get this resolved . Shame on you Walgreens I'm Dunnellon , you won't see me as a customer anymore . I will drive the extra mile to get my prescriptions from now on ! Walgreens, in general, around the country when I have moved or traveled has been consistently above average and at times excellent. Of course, there are problems, bad attitudes, employees who should not be dealing with the public, and of course a lack of younger people willing or capable of working at such a complex and fast-moving pace. The current "team" from what I believe to be mostly the past year, needs some serious training on task orientation, attitude, but mostly customer service. There are many jobs to be had where people do not need to deal with the public and as said on many of these reviews stretching back years, this store doesn't get it. The current clerks are rude and inefficient, probably due to sheer volume of this store and lack of training focusing on interpersonal skills. The "teammates" around didn't even look up, let alone help. Not a team. This has been going on for years with different actors. What is the common problem here? read more

My wife just had a high risk labor. The hospital called Walgreens with three difficult to fill medications very late in the day. When we arrived 50 minutes after discharge, all three of our medications were ready and, most importantly, correct. Not just for my wife, but for our baby as well. read more

One of the worst pharmacies and companies to deal with. Some of the techs in the pharmacy are nice and professionally polite, the pharmacists and a few techs act like they hate their job. You are not allowed to ask them questions without being met with the worst demeanor you will probably ever experience in your entire life. Also, I'm currently in the process of submitting a complaint about one of their (female) pharmacists that lied to me about a prescription. She told me a non-narcotic medicine was out of stock and wouldnt be available for three days. Mind you, I take this every day at the same time because that's how it's SUPPOSED to be taken. When I asked her if there was anything I could do about that, check that a nearby walgreens might have it and transfer it. She lied to my face and told me no. That I would just have to wait. She denied me medication so she wouldn't have to click a couple buttons on her keyboard and send it somewhere else. Keep that in mind when using them. They can just lie to avoid doing more work. I will be reporting her now that I no longer have to use them and fear retaliation by a PHARMACIST. read more

I received awful service from the pharmacist. Actually no service at all, just a waste of my time. Called inquiring if a medication that I'm PRESCRIBED was in stock because my other pharmacy was out. Didn't get any type of help from the pharmacist nor did they seem to even care. read more

Everyone has their own opinion, so I'm going to give you mine. I am from Orlando and I've also lived in much bigger cities. I've lived in Dunnellon for five years and I now only used Walgreens. Dunnellon is a small town. As a result, There are are a limited number of places to get prescriptions filled. (Walgreens, Walmart across the street, and Publix and Winn Dixie down the street. All are within minutes of one another. Walgreens is the only one (that I know of) that has a drive though. ALL of them are going to have some kind of wait ESPECIALLY if you (1) come during peak hours (2) call a prescription in that same day and expect it to be ready in less than an hour if it's at peak hours or (3) You have luck like me and are bound to get caught behind someone who has an issue with their insurance or other problem with their prescription that ties up the line for everyone else. To remedy this, I (1) don't go during peak hours, (2) I don't wait to the last minute or until I'm on my last dose to get a prescription, (that way if I see that there may be a long wait, I'll come back on another day or time) and (3) if I got there and see that there are already a bajillion people waiting and I choose to wait, I make sure that I have enough battery on my phone to play whatever game I'm playing or to challenge a new person to Words with friends or something else to make the time pass. I have really had only one slightly grumpy pharmacist. She wasn't directly rude to me, but you could tell that she was just "done" with the BS for the day. I was in the the drive though and the lady in front of me trying to get her prescription filled was cursing at the pharmacy tech so loud that I could hear it with my WINDOWS UP. Goodness. And from what I gathered it was because she'd made repeated returns to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription that sounded like her doctor failed to fax in. I Told you the person was loud. She even had them call her doctor while she was in the drive thru and the pharmacy tech kept checking and it hadn't arrived. So she was essentially cursing out the tech over something that the tech couldn't control.) For the most part the technicians have been nice. I take Advair. Even with insurance it's at least $50/month. One tech saw the price, gave me a website where I got some kind of code that i gave to them, she applied the code and my Advair was reduced to $10. My doctor had even told me this. Most techs are friendly. They are as busy as a cat burying poop, but they are still polite. So overall, I'm not saying that pharmacy is perfect. You WILL encounter some wait time if you come at a peak time, but overall I've had much better service and people here than elsewhere. (I use Walgreens but I've had to pick up meds for family at other pharmacies in Dunnellon. Those places weren't particularly awful either, but I prefer the convenience of a drive though. read more

I don't ususally submit negative reviews; this is more a "careful" to others. I'm a diabetic and, for some reason, had to get my diabetic supplies from Walgreens. With my insurance, they're 0 copay, so I go. THE WORST EVER! I got a new Rx for test strips and lancettes, doctor called them in directly to Walgreens. Supposed to get a call/text when they're ready . . . don't wait for that, it never comes. So I tried calling. Each time while on hold I was disconnected after 5 minutes wait. Called back 4 more times, same result. Into town I go to check. Test strips ready, Walgreens was unable to get an approval for lancettes. ??? As in: you'll need a hammer and nails for that, here are the nails, unfortunately, can't supply the hammer. Clearly, the test strips are no good without a way to draw blood, i.e. lancettes. No offer to help me resolve this issue, but they DID offer for me to just pay for them. Unfortunately, my husband's Rx's were also called into Walgreens by doctor. They were filled at a just under $200 copay. Informed the tech that he has insurance . . . here was her answer: Well, it all depends on what relationship the pharmacy has with your insurance company. It's Blue Cross, I travel and get prescriptions filled everywhere, never encountered this. Had his RX transferred to my local hometown pharmacy; they were ready an hour later with $0 copay. I managed to get Blue Cross to authorize the lancettes after hours on the phone. Fast forward 1 month; test strips approved, lancettes not. Repeat of last month. This time just under 2 hours on the phone with Blue Cross, 1-1/2 more on hold with Walgreens. My insurance rep called Walgreens with an authorization but had to discontinue her wait on hold after almost an hour because it was time for her to go home. I stayed on the line for another 1/2 hour before hanging up. Before leaving the Wallgreens call, the insurance rep told me to tell them that she authorized the refill, just have them call it in again and stay on the line until they answer. I called back this morning; 1/2 hour wait on hold; pharmacist denies having received the refill authorization and offered them to me by me paying for them once again. I will transfer all of this to my hometown pharmacy and pay any and all co-pays. This is the WORST ever. I'm a diabetic and have to test 3 x daily, something that's impossible to do without lancettes. Once again, they didn't care; no help from Walgreens. read more

Horrible. I was insulted. I waited for days for my script: finally, I went in and asked where it was. "It's in storage," came the answer. Huh? What does that mean? Then some other technician floats by and snips, "You didn't pick it up, so we put it on hold. You know, on hold as in "In storage." Huh? Meanwhile, where is my prescription? I was quite uncomfortable without it. Never got it. Went down the street to some non-national drugstore. The doctor had to call it in again, of course. That's a bunch of people inconvenienced. They do a great job. Did I mention that at the Walgreeen's, they even pronounced the name of the medication wrong. read more

Probably the worst pharmacy I've been to. They had 6 or 7 people behind the counter but only one manning both the drive thru and counter customers. I was inside at the counter with no one in front of me waiting for an extended amount of time while multiple drive thru customers received their scripts. I had called in my refill ahead of time and told it would be ready at 10, I got there at 12 and once finally attended to I was told it wasn't ready and would have to wait another half hour. Over the phone there is always a hold time and once someone does answer they seem ill-equipped. I have to call to have request refills faxed over which is a horrid pain. I had to spell my name and give my date of birth multiple times but they still couldn't find my info. I had to give up and call again another time to get someone else. They also sound like I am a bother to them on the phone. I'm sorry you guys spent thousands of dollars for college just so you could talk to me for 5 minutes to order medication. Must be a huge disappointment for you. I'll take my nuisance self to Walmart to be treated better. read more
