Even though the store is only a couple of blocks from my home, I will never set foot in there again! This is another one of my go to establishments, and I just don't understand why they have such a LOW rating . The cashier's are always friendly and deliver great customer service. Upon arrival this Walgreens location is always clean, and NEVER to crowded. Just like most Walgreens there's a little of everything and a pharmacy. The shelves are also always stocked . Today I did a in-store run, but it varies because at times i'm on the go and just make a pickup order. I took my time and browsed around today after work. I got some really great deals. It's also great to have an account with Walgreens so you can clip coupons from the site or app to use in store . Today's shopping I saved over $25 on household goods and toiletries just from clipping coupons . I will always continue to shop at this particular location being it's close to home and it's always great customer service. read more

This place never has medications that you need, pharmacy acts like they're doing you a favor by doing their job. They also have dispensed me expired medication. They will make you wait half hour just to check to see if medicine is available. read more

This Walgreens taken over from former Rite Aid. They have better line of products. But the place is unorganized with shelves. Items are all over the place, in multiple aisles in different parts of the store. For example, you can find household item at the entrance and at the other end of the store. Confusing and making your shopping experience difficult. Also especially when you purchase an item make sure it hasn't been opened. For instance, the cleaning wipes you purchased, mostly people open and use it and leave it in the store, make sure package is sealed. read more

Been trying to get my cats prescription refilled for 2 months. Pharmacy department made a big mistake. My vets office spoke with them 2 times and they still can't get it straight. The store itself isn't bad, but the pharmacy... OMG that's a different horrible story. The lines for the most part are always ridiculous. They are super slow. When you finally get to the point where you can speak to the technician she's got a bad attitude and doesn't seem to want to help at all. They just pass you off. Tell you to make calls and handle it yourself. God forbid you try calling the pharmacy it usually take at least 20 mins for them to pick up, mostly longer. Then you get put on hold. Last time I was trying to resolve an issue that she didn't want to deal with obviously, I asked to speak to the pharmacy management & I was hung up on. This has to be the worst Walgreens in NYC. The Pharmacy is very slow and understaffed. Always a line to pick up a prescription. If they go any slower they would be going backwards. The store in whole is ok but even the line in front is always long. I can't tell you how many times I just left my stuff and left. The other issues is parking. There's a planet fitness gym that practically takes up most of the parking spaces. Once again I get so pissed I just leave. Use another pharmacy it's not worth the wait. read more

Two things happened here today that completely destroyed any positive opinion I had left of the pharmacy at this Walgreens. I highly, highly advise against using this pharmacy. About a week or two ago the pharmacist (the one who doesn't wear her mask) told me my doctor had called in a refill for my medication and that it will be ready when I need it. This was in 2021. Today that pharmacist informed me that Walgreens does not carry that medication anymore in 2021, after telling me it will be ready for me. I now need to find it somewhere else. The second thing we witnessed was disgusting and I ask that if you had a vaccine here that was cancelled, that you PLEASE make a complaint. We heard the pharmacist (again the one who doesn't wear her mask right) talking about how they overbooked the vaccines and needed to cancel some. She then said that she knew some of the people on the list (as in they are her friends or family) and she would not cancel their appointments and will instead choose other people. Walgreens on Cross Bay Blvd. is the absolute worst. They do not care about their customers. * They share a parking lot with a gym and when we are not in the middle of a pandemic, the gym patrons take all the parking spots that are for Walgreens customers. Walgreens has done nothing to rectify the situation except say they are working on it. * They have no available shopping carts of any sort for the customers. They say they were stolen so instead fixing the problem; customers have to hold all their purchases which are usually falling out of their hands. How are you supposed to carry around a case of water and continue to shop or wait on line? Never went to a store that does not have shopping carts. * Their rewards card does not always apply coupons; they say I am not registered. Yet I receive weekly advertisements via email. There are no great bargains at Walgreens worth this type of treatment. Even if they were, I would rather pay more and be treated with respect. read more

Does this store have managers? The employees are miserable and they treat the customers poorly. Long wait times and constant screw ups in the pharmacy. There will be one person in front of you on line and you'll still wait 20 minutes. Since Walgreens took over from Rite Aide this location has been terrible While the employees are generally helpful the service is Very slow. Waiting for a RX that is ready for pickup should not be a 30 or 40 minute wait. This was not a one time event. Also they do not have many items that Rite Aide carried. Very slow and rude people in the pharmacy. Today they tell me that they do t take my insurance and that an antibiotic would be over $20. When I complained about it and went to call my insurance company, as I was here last week and they took my insurance, the person behind the counter said "oh no. It's my mistake! Pharmacy staff in the Howard Beach 11414 store will pick up and put you on hold to falsify their call pick up statistics. You can tell the difference from being in queue and plain hold by the music and lack of the interruptions (announcements) telling you where in queue you are. Go to a different pharmacy. Options exist. On hold ONE HOUR and counting. At this point they are willfully ignoring my call given the hold time. Hung up and called back asking for a manager. Call got picked up right away. Have had plenty of issues filling scripts during covid but there is one employee named Ricky who was willing to help and now the process is seem less. Plenty of other employees are nice too but none were able to get my family's issue resolved but him. Other than that shelves are always stocked and the holiday selection is good. read more

My father needs his diabetes medication and they are taking days because the computer is down for days now. The worst pharmacy ever, terrible customer service. They suggested he drive to another Walgreens which is not close by any means and basically just wash their hands of the issue all together. Simply put they don't care. On other days they will take forever just to have your prescription ready, with a line down the store and workers with attitudes. I suggest going to cross bay chemist much more efficient and timely. Probably the worst place to fill a prescription. A few months ago (before Covid) my son had the flu and they told us we wouldn't have to wait more than 10 minutes for the medication. An hour later with my sick son we were still there. Fast forward to today, I have strep throat. Urgent care unfortunately filled my prescription there. First, they didn't care to call me to tell me I needed to give them my insurance card. I had to call, after her saying she will fill it and I can bring the card she then said it will be ready in an hour (she didn't care to tell me in an hour they go to lunch). So after waiting for lunch break to be over, THE MEDICINE STILL WASNT READY. The worst customer service, the worst communication. Will definitely be bringing my prescriptions elsewhere.
