This particular Walgreens ALWAYS has customers waiting lines...in the store....2 drive thru lines for the pharmacy always has at least 3-7 cars waiting. After working in retails for 28 years. The whole vaccine process needs an overhaul. I scheduled myself and two of my children for vaccines. I completed the entire process through my app including the consents and questionnaires for each of us. Our appointment was 11:30 am, we arrived at 11:20 am. I got in line, waited my turn and said I have a scheduled vaccine appointment. I was told to go and scan the QR to check in. No further information was given. I found where the QR is posted, scanned it, checked in my party and the app said "wait for your name to be called". So we waited, and waited some more. We waited until noon (30 minutes past the scheduled time) and still nothing. Finally I was called to the counter, not because it was vaccination time, but because it was check in time. Huh? I did that 40 minutes ago, but I digress. I was given 3 forms to complete of the exact information I was asked in the app which I'd already completed in the app. Evidently that is a waste of time as there is no way to print the entire questionnaire from the app in order to have in hand. After completing the second round of paperwork and another consent, the vaccine orders were finally put in the system. We are now a full 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment time. I should add we were the ONLY folks there for vaccines and people picking up prescriptions were waited on one after another while we waited for our name to be called....for 40 minutes. After completing the questionnaires and consent, having them finally entered in the system, we sit down to wait some more. It took about 4 minutes for the three of us to get our vaccines. All told we were there for an hour and 20 minutes! Now let me tell you that they encourage scheduling ahead, but that isn't going to be helpful to you. Had I come with no appointment, the first time I was in line to check in when I arrived I could have said, no we do not have appointments scheduled and they would have given me the paperwork on the spot. I could have completed it, signed consents and got the vaccines entered in the computer in the first 5 minutes AND I would not have had to complete everything twice. I'll never schedule ahead again! Walgreens needs their system to interface with their online scheduling. We don't need to double the information, it needs to update in your system. If you want people to schedule ahead, treat it like an appointment. As in, if my appointment is 11:30 am and I am there and checked in, we are taken care of ahead of the 30 people that came in after us. Lastly, the website indicated that a 10 year old could not be scheduled for a vaccine. What it should have said is Under 12 cannot be scheduled at THIS location. You can get a vaccine under 10 in the town 10 minutes away. Had that been noted, we would have gone directly to that location rather than now having two trips for vaccines. read more

Can I give zero stars?! This is no doubt the absolute worst Walgreens I have aver been too. Drive through pick ups take forever as apparently they can only ever have one person working the two lanes. Going in is no better. Takes just as long but then on top of that you get greeted by angry pharmacy employees. We have never had issues at any other Walgreens before. We recently moved to Huntley and had all of our prescriptions moved here...shame on us! We are changing to the other Walgreens on 47 by Jewel. It's 1000% better. read more

I arrived to the pharmacy dive thru about 6:30pm, 3 cars in front of me. 20 mins go by and its my turn, I am the last person in line and as I roll up they put up a sign saying pharmacist is off duty and close the window ON MY FACE and watch me sit there behind the window waiting for me to leave. I go inside the store and ask why they did that. They said they go on lunch in 2 mins. I WAS THE LAST PERSON! why could they not have helped me then gone on lunch. Honestly I have to admit it doesn't get any worse than this Walgreens pharmacy. It most certainly will be my last prescription I fill with Walgreens... each visit in line at the pharmacy is over an hour wait. I think it's actually very negligible that they staff one person when they boarder a retirement community who drives more foot traffic. You must and I do mean must plan for a few hour trip regardless of time or distance from your house. I used the online to refill a prescription. I attempted to use Walgreens chat to change my insurance info. That cannot be done in Walgreens chat. I called the Huntley store; was told that they would just process my prescription as is and I can change the info when I got there. Me: Well, I come thru the drive thru. Pharm: That's OK, you can just hand us the card and we'll change it. Me: Isn't that inconvenient to the person in the drive up behind me? Pharm: Then you can just drive around and come back. I don't like Walgreens. They are understaffed and the wait times can be 30 minutes or more. I used the one in lake in the hills and the one on the corner of 31 and 72. I also don't like they are inconsistent in their hours of operations with their pharmacies. My prescription was sent to the pharmacy. I called to check the status first I was hung up on. Then I was told my insurance won't cover it o said that fine I'll pay cash they said one hour. If there was an option for 0 stars, that's what I'd pick! Please don't leave this place without counting the pills in your prescription or quantity of your medication. They shorted us 10-pills for a few months. We would have never thought to count our medication, as we have always trusted the Walgreens name. In addition to being short on the prescription, we had to fight to get the correct amount on our last prescription and never went back. No ownership. The only reason I give two stars is for the poor folks who are running around like nuts in the pharmacy. With so many old timers at Del Web right down the street, you'd think Walgreens would staff this pharmacy appropriately. Nope. My prescription was called in an hour before arriving and it still wasn't ready upon arrival. No problem they said, they'd get right on it and announce over the store loud speaker when it was done. A half hour later, when there was finally a lull in the line, I went up to check on the status. "Oh yes, it's ready". I'd still be sitting there if I didn't check. I know you're busy, but at least have the courtesy to let folks know when their prescription is ready if they are waiting. From now on I will go to the Walgreens a couple miles north of here. We called my husbands MD at 9am for a new rx. They sent it to this Walgreens. I know they're busy. At noon I called to check when it would be ready. I got an automated voice saying they were dealing with the insurance coverage for this med. it's a prescription for pain. at 4pm I called and finally spoke to a person who said they were the pharmacist. She said the insurance would cover the meds because he already had 1 script filled 2 days ago. I said we'd pay cash. She said fine pick it up after 6pm. I called at 6:30 to check the status and was told it hadn't been filled and that the pharmacist was on dinner. Call back in an hour. At 7:15 Pm I went to the pharmacy, waited to speak with the pharmacist. He then told me he wouldn't fill the script because my husband had another pain script filled 2 days ago. I tried to explain that that med wasn't working. He still refused, and said we needed to go to am emergency room. My husband is supposed to be in quarantine until his surgery. Not his problem! Call the surgeon in the AM. So now we're having a THIRD not with no sleep, no relief from the pain......Walgreens has lost our business and I will DEFINATELY let everyone I know about their pharmacy read more

The worst wait for prescriptions. We've been customers for years & stayed for convenience. Every single time we pickup there's an obnoxious wait. The drive thru line often takes 20-30 minutes just to get to the window. We usually wait for them to find or mix our prescription another 10 when we get to the window even though a confirmation tells us it's ready. No exaggeration. We've gone into the store thinking it's just the drive thru & stood in line for 40 minutes only to be told a prescription sent in 8 hours prior still wasn't available, despite calling an hour before & being told it would be ready. It's a busy location. They don't have enough staff to fill orders. Those working seem under-trained & overwhelmed. Twice they've had to "find" our order after it was misplaced. Once they couldn't find it so we had to wait again for them to fill it. It's ridiculous. We'll be switching pharmacies. read more

This Walgreens is located near a senior retirement community. Our state mandate is that masks are to be worn and social distancing be kept to keep everyone say. Every time I have been in that store there is one person, family with no masks on. On one occasion a little boy who obviously was sick - the father sat him on the checkout the counter and the boy was wiping his nose and playing with items on the counter. The entire family had no masks on. Each time I asked the manager why they are allowed in the store with no mask - they responded it is Walgreens policy. They don't want to lose customers - I called the Deerfield office and they echoed that they don't care to enforce the policy. I have been at Costco, Jewel and Walmart where they have asked individuals to leave or would not let them in. So that is where I am going from now on. If they don't care about their customers - I don't care to support Walgreens ever again. read more

I made an appointment on line for my 18 month old son who wasn't feel so good and was tugging his ear...Thinking it was a ear infection and with his doctor out of town, I decided to give the health clinic a try. I put our information in online easy enough and made the appointment. I arrived 20 minutes early and signed in on the walk up screen. I was then greeted by the nurse that would be seeing him..she seemed annoyed that she wasn't giving flu shots and had to actually give my son a look over...she was putting our information into her computer and after about ten minutes said to me very happily I might add " We are not seeing him". Then she went on to tell me my son was not 18 months old...he was 12 hours away from being 18 months old...are you kidding me...she actually was doing the math and stated that they don't see patients under 18 months old. With that she turned around and went back to her screen. She did not call over a manager to help. It was really a sad situation since my son who wasn't crying or complaining at all was not able to be seen and it took over a half hour of my time...when I could of been somewhere else that would of seen him. I asked why did the online registration let me register him if he wasn't old enough...she had no answer...I was at this location for a back to school physical with my four year old and was treated very well and the nurse was very nice to my daughter. This visit was really upsetting and I would think someone in the medical field would be more caring about patients. read more
