3.5 I've heard the…read morestories. I've read the (thinly veiled rac1st, if we're being all the way honest) jokes. I went and experienced it and it was fine. Useful, even. Look, if Hair World is surviving the rent in Maxwell, Nashville, TN in the year of our Lord 2023, they have to be doing something right -- and had to have been doing it for quite some time because they've been at the location for a minute and we all know that rent isn't cheap. More power to them. As with all things in life, change is constant. The change I have been experiencing is with my hair- specifically, my hair texture/grade. As a young(er) man, I didn't value and take care of my really awesome hair. I didn't investigate proper care. I didn't care about products. I didn't educate myself on techniques to make it shine. I lucked into some good styles and let the very basics do the rest. Fast forward to now and those glory years are well behind me. I needed to invest in what the kids are calling 'protective care.' I set off to Hair World and found the people, products and advice I needed to enter into this new phase of hair care. Useful products. Helpful people. I will return (if needed).

I had a pep talk with my nephew about respecting yourself with your head up (posture) and talk. It's important to maintain professionalism (yes stay in your act) the whole time you're clicked in. Gosssip, condescending conversations labeling people as "It" needs to cease. I didn't respond to the needless banter that wasted my time in line but it's unfortunate for me to have a conversation about disrespect with my suspended nephew and grown people do it to each other everyday...and to people they don't personally know. The clerk was kind to give me free sunglasses for Aiden after she figured out I may be competent enough to understand the conversation she and a couple shared in front of me. The theme today and for the rest of 2024 is RESPECT. It can never be closed. Thank you for your time in reading an old 47 year old woman's comments. Blessings.

I gave this one a try and was pleasantly surprised! There was ample parking in front of the building and it appeared clean from the outside. As soon as I walked in I was greeted, and a woman very genuinely asked if she could help me find anything. I knew what I needed (and the introvert in me prefers to search alone anyway) so I declined, but she was very kind and let me know I could ask her anything. After a few minutes I was ready to check out, and again she smiled and took the time to have a genuine interaction. It goes a long way, and I will definitely be going back to this location!

I think they made a mistake on processing my tickets at first then I had to come back later in the day so they could correct it. Thanks to the brother behind the cash register at night time with the Jamaican accent and to the daytime guy with the hat and glasses. I appreciate. Even if I don't win anything, the help is appreciated. The desk to fill out your tickets is small, probably only for 2 ppl to write on. There are scratch offs too to play. Lines can get long but they're efficient. 5***** for the service I received from the workers 3*** for location and convenience store itself. I stayed at the Gaylord opry resort so the walk here ( Is a bit (if you don't have a car, the walk is ~0.6miles one way). At least you get kind of a workout in for the day, 30min walk one way depending on your pace and traffic. They have bathrooms too which is often used by passerby travelers filling up on gas. Bring a scent deodorizer to be safe lol. Bathrooms are next to the lottery counter desk.
