Get rid of the large religion kiosk next to the pharmacy selling dozens of Christian & Bible books, Jesus coloring books for kids, Christian bookmarks, women's Christian devotional prayer books etc. Walgreens, as a publicly held corporation, shouldn't be in the business of promoting Christianity much less any religion. I have used Walgreens happily for the last 20 years at least. Since moving to Indiana, my experience has gotten really bad. My last incident was unable to fill the prescription for pain medication after going home from surgery on a Friday night. I was told it would be 3-5 days. I was unable to get any help. I was told they could not check other stores to get from there. I had to wait the 3-5 days. Other problems were sending my prescription back to old doctor out of state to be filled, delays in filling maintenance orders (metformin) until repeated calls and others. If my doctor prescribed pain medication for pain I am having now, why on earth would I want to wait 3-5 days? I'm done. read more

prices may vary from online compared to in store. Why? whats the point of being on places like DoorDash if you're not going to have the items and not have what you claim is in stock. It says they have a deal then you go to that exact stores and end up paying twice as much for the same items. The online prices and what they claim is in stock are not relevant. read more

Their customer service has been excellent during the pandemic. Even though they are working under very stressful conditions and surely dealing with more than their fair share of difficult customers, everyone I have dealt with here over the past few months has been cheerful, helpful, and kind. Ugh, I've never had a good experience at any Walgreen's... Ever. This one was unique in that I went in to get one item, as quickly as possible. When you have a sick family member in the car and just want to get some relief, you tend to hurry...amiright? I get to the checkout, there is ONE person in line that is of course being as difficult as possible trying to activate some prepaid card or something.. The cashier looks at me and goes, "You can check out in cosmetics if you want..." I looked over there and of course there wasn't anyone behind the counter.. She was at least 30 feet away and was obviously avoiding her register area so she didn't have to help out. Then the cashier looks at me and says, "Sorry... I called for help but I guess nobody gives a shit..." Are you kidding me!? Who talks to a customer like that!? Walgreen's I hate that you are sometimes the only place to go. I hate your awful high prices. I hate your awful service. I hate that nobody in your store ever wants to help. I hate that your employees always sound miserable. I hate that your stores are always dirty. I hate that there is always a long line. I hate that your cashiers are never allowed o make a decision without manager approval. I mainly use Walgreens for photos. Even if someone isn't at that dept, I only wait a few seconds. All the people are friendly. I'm always greeted by the person at the register by the door when I enter and exit. read more

I had a horrible experience at this Walgreens that made me give up on Walgreens altogether. My vet prescribed predinosolone for my cat. My vet said that it is hard to find in pill form. I called around to local pharmacies to try to find a drugstore that carried it. This Walgreens said that they did. When this Walgreens said they carried, I specifically asked them, "I need predinosolone, NOT prednisone in pill form", and they verified it. So I drove there and submitted the prescription, told them I will wait for it. They said it will take 20 minutes. I waited for 40 minutes. I got up to ask about it, and they said it's already been done (in other words, they didn't bother to call me). I pay for it and start to leave. As I'm leaving, I figured I should check the medicine, and IT IS NOT PREDNISOLONE, IT IS PREDNISONE!!! So NO QUALITY CONTROL, NO DOUBLE-CHECKING. I take it back to the pharmacy. And they worked to replace it. After about an hour, they said they didn't have predinosolone in pill form, but they had it in liquid form, but they would have to get an OK from my vet. They were able to track down my vet and get it OKed. What should have taken 20 minutes took, them three hours to finish. Of course, the idiot who took my original phone call didn't know what he was talking about. Another thing: at one point during this three-hour misadventure, the assistant store manager came back. A young guy with tattoos on his knuckles, reminiscent of prison tattoos. Very unprofessional looking. But that may have to do with the quality of Michigan City's workforce (being a prison town, I guess released prisoners tend to stick around the area). read more
