The rudest and most unprofessional Customer Service I have ever experienced in my 60+ years. I was trying to drop off a return for Fedex, a service Walgreens is paid for by Fedex. There were two registers at the front of the store. One had a line, the other did not; the one with the line had a Fedex sign behind it. I pardoned myself to ask if it was the correct line for the drop off. The woman said either register could help me and to place the box on the counter at the other register.; the attendant at the other register was about 5 feet away and hear d the interaction. I did as I was instructed. The woman at the second counter was tidying and dilly-dallying, totally ignoring me. When I finally commented she rudely asked if I were speaking to her and said, "if you want help from be you gotta ask for it; you can't be standing there thinking I will help you if you don't ask me." I said your coworker just asked me to come to this register. She repeated her rude little you gotta ask tirade and continued to do other things, at which point I walked out. Abominable, and not the first time I hae been treated rudely at this store. I will drive 15 miles out of my way to avoid that store. read more

The pharmacy is incredibly frustrating. Long lines (sometimes) aside, the computer system just doesn't work. I have signed up for monthly automatic refills numerous times, and it never works. I have to call to refill, and lately the refills cannot be made in time, so I run out of medication. The automated system is garbage, and when I opt to attempt to speak with a pharmacist, I am put on hold for a half an hour or more, and hang up. No one has ever answered the phone. Nothing against the people who work there, but it's a really bad store in terms of functionality. The rest of the store is a typical Walgreens. read more

Frequently opens late. I went this morning at 7:15 and it still wasn't open at 7:40. Then they remove the atms at will, and then replaced them, and don't even notify the public by a door notice or anything. That is important because people depend on those atms if they have Chime Bank and other apps that allow free atm use. read more

This is by far the most incompetent group of employees ever!! I called to transfer a prescription from walgreens to walmart for my day. I called at 4pm on Sunday. The pharmacist from walmart tried calling and was on hold for almost an hour. I thought maybe the pharmacist was exaggerating. I attempted to call thinking I would get some resolve. I was on hold for 36 minutes. The automated system stated that I had 3 people was in front of me. By the time I got to 1 person, someone picked up the phone and put me on hold 5 times. I called the store lead who said the store manager would be there tomorrow. I told him what my issue was and he said he would go to the back to ask them to answer the phone. I spoke to the tech who told me he would connect me to the pharmacist and was left on hold for 13 more minutes with them picking up and putting it on hold. I called the store lead back and asked for the district and regional managers number. He put me on hold but forgot to press hold. I heard people in the background cursing and having conversations. I called the manager back and he kept putting me on hold. I finally got the pharmacist who told me that the pharmacy manager would not be in until tomorrow. I am absolutely livid!! These are patients and deserve better than that. Not one of those employees will get up out of their beds to help my dad tonight when he's going through it. If I could give this store a 0, I would. I pray the my mom would switch every prescription from walgreens to walmart. They do not deserve our business. read more

I wish that there was way a to give zero stars. If you need a prescription, expect: 1. Confusion regarding the techs' protocol. They will tell you that you need to call docs, insurance, when it's the pharmacy's job to do so. 2. They have been known to give customers the wrong prescription and the wrong information. 3. It doesn't matter how many times I have been there, and that I know the pharm techs' names, they treat me like a stranger every time. 4.The pharmacy/business doesn't care about the community. There are heroin needs all around the pharmacy. There is always an abundance of graffiti on the building. 5. While the cashiers on the business side of things are slightly more capable than the pharm-techs, they tend shout "Welcome to Walgreens" in a manner that is somehow unwelcoming. read more

Your basic urban Walgreens, it could be a lot cleaner and the staff always seems to be doing something else when you need them, but if your in a pinch for something, here it is. Big plus, they have their own parking lot and often there is a security guard present. Getting in and out of the parking lot requires a little thought as it's located on the intersection of two busy streets. read more

This Walgreens is quite strategically placed; as it's on the corner of 'everything & somethings always happening' blvd. I mean there's NEVER a dull moment on this corner. Let's not talk about the various bars, taverns & chill-spot just a few paces north & south of here. But i digress. Overall this is a regular degular (yes I said DEGULAR...lol) less the extraneous activities on the outside. This Walgreens has a steady flow of traffic & the staff/cashiers tend to be swift in handling of customer transactions. Quick complaint: Most recently, as in 5.3.13, I utilized the iPhone app to upload & send for printing some photos. Uploaded & in the midst of processing, I was told, via email, they'd be ready at 7:22am the next day, 5.4.13, as I uploaded the image after 10pm the night of 5/3/13. No problem. Well 8am that next day, 5.4.13, I went to pick up the pics & after much shuffling & searching, the photo clerk stated there was no ink/print cartridge. She summoned the manager who was able to confirm the lack of a replacement ink/photo cartridge (she even went to the stock room to check). Hmmmmmm that's no good, as uploading there was my last ditch effort. So all in all, great for quick pickup items, not so much for reliability of photos. read more

This is my second visit to this pharmacy today. The service is steadily deteriorating. I called in two prescriptions last night and when I checked out this morning, only one was provided. This required me to place another call for the missing prescription when I arrived home and realized that I had only received one of the prescriptions. This prescription was supposed to be ready at 1:00 pm. It's now 6:22 pm and I am still waiting for the prescription to be filled. For some reason, this location seems to be alternating Pharmacists and the workflow is not very good. Also, the cashiers in this area are servicing the counter as well as the drive-thru window. This practice creates long lines for service at the counter. There is also some sort of disconnect between the status of prescriptions that are available to me on the automated phone data bank and the in-store records. read more

On a recent trip to New Orleans I had to stop into this Walgreens to pick up some toiletries I had forgotten to pack. The store was clean and well organized. I had no trouble finding what I was looking for. The staff was friendly and got everyone through line as quickly as possible. If you're in the area and need a quick Walgreens stop this is a good place for that. read more

My fiancé tried to deposit $750 cash into his Chime account to pay rent; however, he was told by cashiers the limit was $500. He thought the limit was higher but was repeatedly told it was not and they weren't going to try to deposit any amount over $500 either. They said he could deposit $500 and drive himself to a DIFFERENT Walgreens and deposit the rest .... After a call to Walgreens customer service, it was confirmed the amount that could deposited was indeed more than $500. It appears their communication with Chime about these regulations were lacking and hope clarification is provided to this team in the future. read more

Let me start by saying that there are some good people if you come for anything but a prescription here. The pharmacy is a complete mess. I have been on 1 medication...ONE...for over 3 years. It always processes. Ive been all over the country traveling for my job, and it always processes at Walgreens, and it always costs $0 because of insurance. ALWAYS. You can even see this in the Walgreens system. Now, I attempted a week ago to fill this same prescription (that I have had MULTIPLE issues getting filled here, but I have maintained it to keep it in the general Walgreens system). I got a message that it was pending and I would receive a call, made 3 separate trips to the store (because I received no call) and was told that their Resolution Center had to process it. I am now over a week, no medication, and 3 days without it because they would not process it. THE SAME MEDICATION THEY ALWAYS PROCESS! Then, when I attempted to have it transferred to another pharmacy so I could get my medication, they called me to make sure I knew the processed the transfer. At least I got that call. This pharmacy is horrible. I have one prescription filled here, well I used to have it filled here. One of my dogs has severe seizure issues and is on 3 medications to control them. Two of the medications I get directly from the vet, one I have to get from a human pharmacy- diazepam. This particular location is so inconsistent on how they fill it, is unbelievable. I can't request a refill online, through the app or the automated phone service. I actually have to call and speak to a person. I understand that this is a controlled substance and an ID needs to be shown to pick it up. Sometimes they ask to see my ID, sometimes they don't. Sometimes I can give the ID number over the phone and they'll fill it and ask to see it when I pick up. Sometimes they don't ask for the ID at any point. Today I tried calling in a refill as my dog had a pretty epic seizure this morning and I was running low on the diazepam (the one medication that actually stops active seizures). I waited on hold for over 10 mins to speak to someone. I was then told that they couldn't refill over the phone as they needed to see my ID. I asked if they could fill it and I'd show my ID when I pick it up- nope, not this time. Doesn't matter that they've done it in the past, I now have to go in, request the refill, show my ID and wait. I just wish they were consistent. It's way too much of a hassle to work with them anymore. I'll give their competitor, CVS a try. I'm done with this place Update: about a week after I left this review I got an automated text saying that my dog's prescription was ready to be picked up. I didn't call it in (again) and I didn't go in to refill it. It just magically got refilled. However, I had already gone to CVS and got it filled there. Absolutely no hassles. They did ask to see my ID and I clarified with the pharmacist the procedure for future refills- I can call it in and show my ID at the time of pick up. Over the next week, I got a few more texts from Walgreens saying that the prescription was ready for pick up and this morning the Walgreens pharmacy called to see if I was picking it up. Told them I already switched to CVS and I wouldn't be using them anymore. I can only guess that someone is watching these reviews and following up with the location. read more

I'm starting to feel like I can't trust these people to administer my medication. They had my birthday backwards. They can never find me in the system. The wait time is usually more than a half hour. My prescription that I dropped off yesterday for pickup today is an hour later than they said(still not ready). I've dealt with someone either new, rude, or just incompetent, every time. You can't enter my birthdate into a computer and I'm supposed to trust you to properly administer medication? I'll stick with Walgreens, just not this one. read more

I have been having my prescriptions filled at this location for several years. It was not a bad experience. But this pass week was a nightmare. I had to call my primary care doctor to submit my prescription 5 times. The back and forth between Walgreens and my doctor was dizzing. At one point a Walgreen pharmacy rep said they had not gone through all message via phone, email plus one other way. The prescription was approved on Tuesday, and this is Friday! I had one day left on prescrition. It was finally resolved. But they were trying to cover a mistake by sending an email saying that there is an issue with insurance. Less than one minute late I recieved another email saying my prescription was ready. read more

Pharmacist, Huong vu, tried to essentially shame my pregnant wife for taking a certain medication she took safely and successfully with our first child and has already had filled several times at this particular Walgreens. The pharmacist refused to fill the script and implied she was needlessly risking the safety of our unborn son! Despite the fact our doctor has repeatedly assured us of its safety and has even cited clinical studies regarding its safety. How dare you! You are interfering in someone's health, superseding their doctors diagnosis, passing judgement and making an already sensitive pregnant woman feel despondent! How dare you! Count the damn pills and shut up!!! It's Friday and doc won't be able to resolve until Monday. Never again!!! read more

For a Walgreens, this place isn't that bad. If you live in the Bywater, you know that prices for anything are inflated and crazy. That being said, this place is the only good option to grab some frozen food, beer, and soft drinks. (3 essential items for a bachelor) I tired of spending $3 for a 2 liter of soda, $20 for a 18 pack of beer, and $11 for a frozen pizza. Those prices are crazy and the places close to Bywater can do it because no one has a car. So jumping in your car and going to Walgreens makes perfect sense to me. The milk is decent priced as well. The customer service here isn't good, it isn't bad either. They just do their job like they hate their life. I don't really blame them due to some of the stuff they have to put up with. Being in prime location of where you see some of New Orleans craziest people, I think they deserve a little slack. Lastly, I know there are many of you who hate supporting corporate America. I'm shopping here because the little guys close to Bywater are greedy. There is no way a to justify a 20 oz. Pepsi costing over $2. So I'll give my money proudly to corporate America over local greed. Also these little stores try to cut corners more than the big guys. I know an employee at one where the owner fired him and then refused to give him his last paycheck. I don't see how he doesn't have the money when that owner charges $6 for a half gallon of milk. You think in a free market system, people would try to compete with the prices of the guy down the road, but for some reason they just all keep inflated prices and try to fleece the local people that support them. I currently have a tear in my hip. My doctor prescribed one medication that is not am opiate, along with a mild narcotic. The first prescription ran out Sunday, so Monday morning I called in my refill. This Walgreens got authorization from my doctor but decided to hold my medication until the doctor calls back a second time. Why? The answer I was given was "because I have two medications." It is now almost close of business on Thursday and I still do not have my medication. This is outrageous. read more

THE worst. Always out of basic medications, 30 minute wait times to speak to a pharmacist, confusing auto-messages that call your phone and say your prescription is ready, then you show up and it's not even in the building. Or the city, apparently. We called in a refill of a basic IMPORTANT medication that needs to be taken every day last Thursday. They said they had it, we came to pick it up, turns out its out of stock. They said they ordered it and it would be ready at 4pm Friday. Showed up Friday....no meds at all, no call telling us it was delayed. I ran out of doses on Saturday. It's now Monday. Waited 32 minutes on hold to speak to a pharmacist. "Sorry hun we don't have that." We asked if she could check with another location to see if they can fill it. She says "It ain't my job to call around looking for it, you can call the other locations if you need to." IF we need to? It's now 3 days without medication. We asked when the medication would potentially arrive so we could go to the hospital for dosing if they aren't getting it in soon. "I don't know." We asked if she could check that the medication HAD indeed been ordered. "Look (snotty now) I already TOLD y'all when it gets here we'll call you!" Um, right. So sorry to make the outrageous request of seeking out medication at, you know, a pharmacy. Thank you Walgreens...we'll send you the hospital bill. read more

I have to use this Walgreens all the time because it's the closest pharmacy / larger store (for toilet paper, bug spray, etc). Every time I shop here I wish for another pharmacy in the neighborhood. Checkout lines are always four, five or more customers deep. Always one person behind the counter, always surly. If you need to pick up meds, be prepared to wait at least 45 minutes in line. Shelves are poorly stocked. The whole experience is miserable. read more

The retail part of the store is fine-- it's a Walgreens, it's the same as any other large Walgreens. The pharmacy is generally woefully understaffed, though, so give yourself a solid 30 minutes to pick up any prescription. The staff is nice and I feel badly for them.
