Today I made a purchase here and mistakenly began to leave without paying which all of us have done after following all the steps at checkout. The clerk called out loudly" You have to pay". In my embarrassment I paid while the young customers behind me stared and laughed at me while the 5 foot tall cashier with all the makeup laughed and held her forehead and shook her head. BRUTAL pharmacy. The technicians act tortured. Your prescriptions will not be filled. You will ask ask and ask again even in person for them to be filled and it will not happen. Not your average, neighborhood Walgreens.. why you ask? This walgreens is special in that it has a special department dedicated to durable medical equipment and supplies, such as canes, walkers, wheel chairs to name a few. A great choice to have in an area that has a large poplulation of seniors. The rest of the store is pretty much like most other Walgreens. I especially like this Walgreens because the staff is always seems available to lend a hand, or open up another register to get you on your way quickly. four stars in my book read more

Be aware that this Walgreens does not require customers to wear masks. I walked in the store today and saw outraged customers yelling at a family who were not wearing masks. One member yelled back, "It's a free country," meaning they could do what they wanted, even though mask wearing is a state law. I complained to management, and was told they were following corporate policy, and had to wait on these people. Really? Though I will still use the pharmacy drive-through (which has other issues), but will go to CVS for other store shopping. I find it ironic that Walgreens cares little about the well-being and health of their shoppers. Starbucks will turn away customers not wearing a mask, but not Walgreens? Shame on Walgreens! Sadly, it appears Walgreens isn't concerned about the well-being of its employees, either. read more

Pharmacy, pharmacy, pharmacy. Over it... don't waste your time coming to this Walgreens for pharmacy service. The staff is usually pretty courteous. Unfortunately that doesn't excuse the slowness, incompetence, or the overall unhappiness that the customer is left feeling after trying to fill a prescription here. I don't know if there is a high turnover rate at this location which causes the continued problems, or what it is. What I do know...I'll be looking for a new pharmacy going forward. read more

Walgreens, in my opinion, really has to review the customer service provided by the pharmacy here in Oak Lawn. I walked in yesterday to pick up my significant others prescription. When I got in line there were 3 people ahead of me for Rx's and 1 waiting for Covid-19. While it forever to complete the transaction of the person already at the window, 2 other people arrived behind me. Then another couple walked in and got into the Covid line. The person working, Armon, then took care of the first gentleman waiting for Covid then proceeded to take the couple that just walked in leaving the 5 who were already there waiting. I got in line at 12:30 and by the time I received the Rx and walked out it was 1:18. When I asked why he bypassed the 5 of us, he claimed that he is only 1 person working the counter and he wasn't going to debate with me. I turned around and looked at the line and saw everyone shaking their head. I informed him that what I told him was the truth, his response? Call corporate.......nice customer service. And you may wonder why most of stores receive 2 or 3 stars. read more

THIS REVIEW APPLIES ONLY TO THE PHARMACY! I have visited this store numerous times and aside from a long line every now and then really can't say anything bad about it. It's clean, the staff is friendly, and they have great prices. The pharmacy, however Is a different story. Apparently the staff of this pharmacy is not aware of "pharmaceutical law" (the phrase quoted to me by one of the pharmacists there). I had a prescription called into this Walgreens by mistake. It should have been called into a pharmacy a few blocks up the road (I had a coupon giving me a $25 gift card for filling a new prescription there which expired at the end of the month and since I don't get sick very often this was my only chance to use it). I called the correct pharmacy and asked that my prescription be transferred over to them instead. They said no problem and I could pick it up from them later that night. When I got home from work there was a message from my pharmacy informing me that Walgreens refused to transfer my prescription to them. The pharmacist was just as baffled at this as I was. She said that the Walgreens' pharmacist told her that it was against Walgreens' rules to transfer a new prescription; they can only transfer refills. Having transferred prescriptions before, I thought this was surely a mistake so I called the Walgreens' pharmacy and explained the situation to them. No, it wasn't a mistake. According to the pharmacist I spoke to at Walgreens, it is against Walgreens' policy to transfer prescriptions to another pharmacy unless it is a refill. She then went on to claim that the other pharmacy didn't know pharmaceutical law. I explained to her that I really needed the prescription filled and by her not transferring it it was going to force me to pick it up 24 hours later, when I got home from work the next night. She didn't care. I called Walgreens' corporate office the next day and found out that Walgreens does NOT have such a rule and prescriptions can be transferred to other locations without having to be refills. If the pharmacists aren't aware of simple things like their own company's rules and policies it makes me question their knowledge of more important things like drug interactions and side effects. You can bet this is the last time I'll have a prescription filled here! read more

Seriously SCREW THIS F**KING PHARMACY! My fiancé was told his prescription would be ready by 8:30 tonight, I got home right before 10pm and told him he had to call since he never got a call. He NEEDED this prescription ASAP and told them that! He got on the phone with some guy who said he was going to grab the pharmacist, and we were put on hold for 30 MINUTES!!!!! I called Walgreens regular number to see if they can tell me what's going on and guess what? EVERYONE WORKING IN THE PHARMACY LEFT WHILE WE WERE STILL ON HOLD!!!!! My last two experiences with the Pharmacy have been extremely troublesome. Both times the medications that were ordered weren't covered by our insurance, both times I told the person that answered the phone in the pharmacy not to fill the part of the prescription that was not covered by our insurance, both times when my husband picked up my prescriptions they had filled the prescription that wasn't covered along with a cheaper version of the medication that was covered by our insurance!! After calling to complain they told me that once the medications were picked up they couldn't be returned! Both times we had to have an argument with the manager. This is totally unacceptable! What if I didn't have a medical background and I took both medications and my heart slowed to the point that I passed out or worse, when you are ill you just want to get better. You trust the pharmacists and staff to know what they are doing. SMH, time to find a pharmacy where they know what they are doing!! read more

The prior reviews posted for this pharmacy are spot on and identical to my frustration. I've filled my script here only three times and all three times encountered an issues the required me to come back later wasting more of my time. Every single time my prescription that was called in was not filled when I arrived to pick it up. Likewise the one I hand delivered was promised much earlier in the day. When I arrived at 9:50 with no one in line to claim my script there was no one at the counter. When someone finally came out of their hiding spot I was told "we're still working on it". For 5 hours??? That was the last straw, dropping the ball 3 out of 3 times. I'm gunna stick to walmart for my meds from now, never had a problem with them. Bottom line the pharmacy staff is incompetent and inconsiderate. As some else stated I too question what other more serious potentially life threatening oversights occur on a daily basis here. I have used this pharmacy for years and they used to be great but over the last six months the service and wait times have become deplorable both inside and in drive thru. I don't know if they are understaffed or what has happened. Ive actually had the retail cashiers apologize for the pharmacy's horrible service delivery. I've brought my concerns to mgmt attention. No change. Still ineffective, unresponsive and unapologetically slow. My family is moving to a new (non-walgreens)pharmacy home. read more

For the pharmacy only: My repeated, terrible experiences at this pharmacy led to me transferring all prescriptions to CVS. I cannot even begin to explain the constant headache the pharmacy caused both myself and my doctor. If I could give the pharmacy at this Walgreens a zero, I would. This store has been known for slow service in the pharmacy but today was the last straw for me. First, with two cars in front of me, I waited over half an hour for service. Once they began working with me, they wanted me to come inside for GoodRX insurance information that I had on my phone for 15.00 off the price of the prescription. I have had no problems with CVS using this before. The staff person here said they needed a hard copy and refused to use the Walgreens Good RX price. It took 46 minutes before I drove away, paying way too much. Mariano's price was 9.49 for an antibiotic, Walgreens should have been 21. I paid 31.00. Never again!!!! read more

Worst management of a pharmacy I have ever seen, period. One employee puts you on hold, another employee picks up and ask you to repeat the same story - this happens constantly. No one is aware of how to use their own computers, they screw up prescriptions all the time, and they seem to have no concern for any of what's going on. Well lets see. I went to the gynecologist to have the "cookie jar" examined. Oops! Whats that? A yeast infection. Darn:( TMI? So what. Im trying to make a point here. Shit happens. Annnnyhooo, I dropped my prescription off here at this lovely (extreme sarcasm) establishment, waited in a 10 minute line but hey, Im practicing patience, no big deal. I call in the next day to make sure it was ready for pick up. Get this honey: THEY LOST THE FREAKIN PRESCRIPTION! Yes you read correctly. They LOST IT HONEY. Tisk tisk. They told me they would call me if they find it. "IF" they find it. No one called me. Not one single time and I waited two days. My "cookie jar" went without it's milk for 2 days! This review is for the pharmacy. Once again we tried to get a prescription filled. It was for a simple muscle relaxer after my wife injured her shoulder. The kind technician said no problem, twenty minutes tops if you wanted to wait. Forty minutes later and her name was still not on the board. The line of people was now about 6, physically standing in line. I watched person after person have problems getting their prescriptions. I cannot believe they still allow this to happen. I am going to start looking into other pharmacies. read more

The pharmacy customer service is the worse. Was told my medication is out of stock and they will not have it for another 3 days. They told me to "just try another Walgreens". I asked nicely if they can tell me of a location that may have it in the area so that I'm not just driving around aimlessly. He immediately made me feel as I was a bother to him. He didn't know any phone numbers of any local Walgreens, so I had to look up the locations in my phone to give to him. Each number he "called" just rung and rung and he said no one was answering. WORST PHARMACY EVER!!!!! They're always "out of stock" even after I get the voice mail that it's ready for pick up. A manager told me, "It was pulled to fill another order." Along with excuses and comments like, "Mondays are awful for pharmacies." "I shouldn't even be back here." And, "Trust me, I wish I was at home... or dead!" ?! I have to come back 2, 3, sometimes times 4 times to get a script filled, causing a delayed start in the medication (ahem, if you start it late, it Fs your whole cycle!!! ) They always end up sending it to be filled at the 95th Walgreen's, which is kind of hard to get out of, being on the northeast corner of 95th & Cicero. Awful pharmacy. I think they are always understaffed or something. I pushed the button in the drive thru, said hi be with you in a moment. waited 15 mins another car pulled up next to me . Another 5 mins later they help out the person that came after me of course. I rang the button again and another staff member asks for my name and address. ANOTHER 10 MINUTES LATER as im late for work, a different staff member asked what i needed for the third time i said im picking up, shes like "well i need your name!" Ugh so frustrating. I agree on the previous comments on the pharmacy - it is awful. I put in a prescription a day before picking it up and it still was not ready! How does that happen? Then to top it off, the pharmacist gave me the wrong over the counter medication which I could not return! She forgot to show me both variations of the brand. What a mess! read more

The pharmacy is terrible. Signed up for a flu shot online. Ended up taking an hour. The place was empty and there was no line and it still took an hour. Made me wait in the back room for 20 minutes. When the head pharmacist finally did come in she commented that she did not even know I was in there waiting for her. She left and came back another 20min later. She was rude and gave a bunch of excuses as to why a flu shot should take an hour. No excuses... they don't have a clue. This was not my first bad experience. I will never use this place for this again for preventative care. CVS is a little farther away but I am not putting up with that again. read more

The pharmacy at this location is horrible. The lines are always super long and there is no sense of urgency to decrease the lines. I've used Walgreens to fill my prescriptions for at least 10 years and this location's pharmacy is by far the worst hat I have witnessed. My granddaughter (adult) tried to pick up her prescription 4 days in a row and two calls to her dr.to no avail. On the 4th night, a male in pharmacy told her she didn't have insurance and tried to charge her $47 when it should have been 0. He also told her she gets a new insurance card every year and she had to bring it in or he wouldn't give her the insurance price. He doesn't know what he s talking about. Can someone in charge send the pharmacy more help. I think they are so busy it s overwhelming. The drive up line is ridiculous. Matter resolved today thanks to a female pharmacist. read more

If you would like an experience in the worst customer service possible, then this is the Walgreens for you! The manager Mr Jank, yes I said manager is absolutely atrocious. I went to this location for passport photos, after standing next to Mr Jank for about a minute while he punched buttons on a screen I asked him for help since he did not even acknowledge I was there. With a disgusted look on his face he told me to wait a few minutes which I patiently did. Mind you he hasn't said hello or any other common greeting. After a few minutes of dealing with Mr Jank I was happy to be almost done as I was feeling extremely unwelcome in the store. As he is finishing up, for the first time I see a smile on his face, and it's right before he tells me I have to come back in 30 minutes for the pics. They have a big sign that says passport photos in minutes, I asked him why he literally said the machine needs to warm up. I then ask him why he couldn't tell me there would be a 30 minute wait while I was waiting, and I got no response, just a smirk. Not even a goodbye or have a nice day. I then drove 2 miles down the road to another Walgreens and got my photos in 5 minutes. I told the clerk of my previous interaction and she knew of the exact location. And I got this horrid service from the manager, THE MANAGER! Mr Jank you very much need a refresher in customer service, as you are very lacking in that area, and you are in the customer service industry in case you didn't know. read more
