If it were Woolgreens maybe they'd sell sheep. But it's not, and they don't. I am never a fan of Walgreens. Never have I ever really enjoyed paying these extortionate prices for pills and toiletries and stuff. But this is America and that's "how we do" in these parts. As far as Walgreens go, this one has most of the things we needed, and had no wait time at the cash register and friendly service. But when you are charging prices this high across the board - even the hairbrush I bought here was 14 when it would have been 6 or 7 in Walmart - then I can't give you more than 2. read more

How bout this crazy weather? Ugh. This Walgreens is as good as any other Walgreens in town. The cosmetic counter sales associates are great and very helpful. The only complaint I have isn't really against Walgreens, it's my problem, it's my issue with impatience, inefficiency and my dislike of pointless small talk that make some visits to Walgreens less enjoyable than others. It seems like every time I go to Walgreens and am in a hurry, I get stuck in a long line because of Richmond's very own, "how 'bout this crazy weather" Miguel. (I've changed the name to protect the Weatherman Extraordinaire's identity) "Miguel" is friendly but very slow when it comes to doing his job. I know many people probably appreciate his slow pace, small talk and weather updates but I don't. Id like to buy my Advil and tampons and get out of there ASAP...but nooo, I get to stand in line an extra 10 minutes because of a Chatty Cathy who can't keep quiet, he can't just scan my items and let me be...he can't just tell me what my grand total is. I don't need to know what my total was before you scanned my Walgreens rewards card and then hear how much I saved and then hear what my actual total is. Jesus H Christ. I wish everyone would wear a communication/friendliness button, a red button means DON'T TALK TO ME, a green button mean talk to me, I've got nothing else going on. - kind of like the red/green coaster thingies at Texas de Brazil. I am usually polite but its a struggle at times, and now I sound like an a-hole. I hear him give weather updates to almost everyone in his line "cloudy today with a high of 92, tomorrow will be 91 with a slight chance or rain, sunny and pleasant the rest of the week...how bout this crazy weather"! REALLY???? The weather has rarely been "crazy". Snow in August would be crazy, 100 degree weather in January would be crazy, but 80 degree weather in July is normal. I get weather updates from Andrew Freiden from NBC12 and I'd like to keep it that way. I'd like to challenge Richmond to visit this Walgreens and say "how bout this crazy weather" to "Miguel" before he has a chance to say it. You'll know it's him. read more

Update....patient first called in my prescription and Walgreen's still does not have it. Taking away a star every five minutes. ******************* If I'm checking in and its not a restaurant you can assume I am bored. Anyway that's not the fault of Walgreen's. But buying meds or Pocking up house hold stuff is not fun. I have no complaints anyway so I'm not going to give them a low rating. Also I wish drug stores had lunch counters or coffee shops. That would make trips here more enjoyable. read more

Stopped in to buy some Epsom salt. Pharmacy employees were very loud and goofing off so I just decided to find it on my own. Store was very organized, so it took maybe 20 seconds! The clerk, Carlos, rang up my purchase and was very nice!!! Asked me the normal, how was I today? Then wow'ed me with, Are you going to work or going home?, Reminded me about Father's Day coming up in 4 days, and then told me to be safe on my way home because of the heavy traffic!!! Carlos is the best clerk I have had a pleasure meeting in a long long time!!! read more

I love Walgreens, it WAS my little treasure hunt. Between reward points and hidden clearance and the app coupons it was exciting to see how much I could save. Sadly I will not be coming back. I bought a wireless speaker here two nights ago on clearance. Great price, originally 29.99 marked down to $2.99. Grabbed a few items before heading to check out. The night cashier is always friendly. Fast forward to getting home. Open the box to see if I need to charge it for work the next morning. To my surprise the box was empty. It's after midnight so they were closed. Next morning I call and speak to the manager. Explain the issue, she was nice and said that Phillip would help me that evening when I could swing by after work. So I come by after work. Box and receipt in hand. Ask if he was Phillip. Told him the issue, he seemed less than happy to help. Says we can see if they had another one or get a refund. I find one. He says hold on, I'm assuming he went to get the hanger keys but no. I stood in electronics for 20 minutes before I realized he wasn't coming back. I go up front. All he says is he will give me a refund. I mention that I found one he said it's not the same. Fine. I tell him I'm going to grab a few more items then check out. I come back ten minutes later to check out and they call him back to ring me up. This man looked me in my face and told me his cashier sold me an unopened sealed box that I opened the box and took the speaker. At this point I think my jaw dropped. The box was damaged when I bought which is why I assumed it was on clearance. Secondly, I drove 30 minutes out of my way. Wasted more than 5 times $3 worth of gas to come and try and get $3..... really. Aside from the fact that he humiliated and embarrassed me in front of customers and accused me of non sense. I told him to go pull up the cameras I had time to wait so he could see. He continued to argue that he wouldn't honor the refund. I couldn't care less about the refund at this point. Like I said it isn't about the money or three little dollars. You slandered me and called me out my name and accused me of something I didn't do. I told him to ring me up so I could leave and don't worry about me returning. He tried to charge me twice as much and "couldn't" find my reward points or mobile coupons. I will not ever be returning to this place where I felt less than and not welcome read more

by far my favorite pharmacy chain to date. convenient drive thru and shopping hours (there's a 24-hour one located right by my house). nice iphone app that makes refilling prescriptions seamless and easy. wait times typically no more than 30 minutes. read more

I posted a really annoyed review of the Walgreen's in Carytown, so wanted to post about a good experience at their sister store. Thankfully I had the prescription transferred here. The prescription was ready within 15 minutes. The pharmacy person was kind, confirmed everything was correct with my child's prescription, gave a couple of ideas for encouraging a kid to take yucky tasting stuff, and snuck a lollipop in the bag for him. Total opposite experience of what we've been having at the store closest to our home. read more
