I just stopped in trying to find a dozen white eggs to dye for Easter - I've been all over town looking for some, because of the eggs shortage. I find them I walk up to the counter and then he refuses to sell them to me because they were passed the sale by day on the shelf. They can't even take expired shit off their shelves.. Today I had a great experience at the Walgreens Pharmacy on Vista. Their new pharmacist, Steve, and pharmacy tech, Melissa, were kind, efficient and caring. My chemo rx is kind of complicated and they took time to assist. Thankfully Walgreens got rid of Bungling Bernie, the former pharmacist! Will tell my homecare patients and my colleagues about the new and improved Walgreens Pharmacy. I have been an RN 44 years and apparently have some high expectations! read more

Do not take your FEDEX package to this place! I dropped my package off at 8am on 3/3. I hadn't gotten any updates so around 11pm I checked and it said my package was waiting for me at Walgreens. I called them and they said the employee who processed the package didn't do it correctly and they couldn't fix it so I needed to pick the package up and take it to another FedEx location. The next morning I picked it up and took it to the FedEx store. They scanned it and said ok you're good to go it's going to Nebraska like the label says. I checked later and it said it was on its way to the Walgreens I had just picked it up from! But for some reason it has to go to Oakland first then back to the Walgreens so I can pick it up! The label literally says the delivery address is in Nebraska! Idk what the Walgreens employee did but I will never take another FedEx package there. $300 package that was time sensitive is now worth $0. read more

Oof! This is for their pharmacy specifically, made an appointment for 2:15 for a vaccination and 50 minutes later and still waiting to receive it. The front ladies are very nice and at least acknowledge you, but having to wait that long is a little frustrating. I get being short-staffed, I work in healthcare too but at least update or prioritize who arrives first. read more

I scheduled a COVID test and in the email confirmation, I was to go through the pharmacy drive-through and not go into the store. From start to finish, it took 15 minutes which 10 minutes of that was leaving my car started. I didn't expect to be there that long otherwise I would have shut off my car to save gas and not pollute the air. Sharing this info so others know. read more

Can I just give a shout out to the night pharmacy crew?!?! We manage my MIL's scripts and recently realize she was out of her pain meds late in the evening, so I clicked off on a last-minute refill at 5:45pm for pick up later that evening. I called to confirm it was ready at about 7:15 and learned the pharmacy had missed seeing it...and literally made it happen so she wouldn't miss a dose! Had it ready in about 20 minutes (and they were closing at 8PM!) Woohoo! Great service for a department that has been under staffed and rotating thru employees, seemingly always needing extra help, but they delivered! I appreciate you all! Thank you! read more

This is not for the store, but for the pharmacy. I know they must be busy at 5:30 at night as people are getting off work, as I am too. But instead of going in, I decided to keep my social distance and call the pharmacy to order my prescription for my daughter. I don't happen to have her prescription # so I asked the digital system to talk to an operator. I received the standard "you have to wait" message which was completely ok! Then I received the "you're 1st in line message", oh boy! It had only been 7 minutes, not bad. Then at nine minutes, it began to ring. Ok, now we're getting somewhere! It rang about 8 times, was picked up, and I was put back on hold. Ok, so they're busy, I'll be next hopefully. This same process when on 6 more times. At 19 minutes it was picked up again, and I was hung up on. Suggestions: 1.) Get an answering machine 2.) Leave a message to call back later you are unable to answer calls right now 3.) Disconnect the phone, 4.) Have the front of the store answer. As much as I love sitting on hold for 20 minutes to have to get back in the queue, that's not going to happen again tonight. However, it's going to become an issue as my daughter is running low on her meds. I guess I'll have to brave the germs and slog into the pharmacy in order to just put in my order. They pharmacist don't really want to be working they take their time doing the most basic things I waited and hour for my medicine they told me to just come back in an another hour so I did and my medicine was still not ready.its the next day and I'm on hold waited for my medicine still...........I will be changing where I go to get my medication. read more

This is the most disorganized pharmacy I've ever dealt with. The Pharmacist Bernie was awful and rude when I asked about my medication.

OK, I go in here to Walgreens to pick up my prescriptions still waiting on stuff on backorder because they are out of stock every time I get my prescriptions they're out of stock and they don't get my prescriptions right these people are worked a lot of hours, but we depend on them for our health needs for them to shut down and decrease their hours because they're short staffed is hurting the community. I work 16 hours a day and drive 50 miles one way to get to work and then expect to come out at night after work to get my prescriptions and to find out that they're closed and you're going to put my prescriptions back on the shelf is very unfair poor judgment I understand I think they worked overworked when they work more than 10 hours, but I work 16 hours a day every day for five days I don't complain. I do my job and if I was in the field of peoples health, I wouldn't care. Yes we all get burnt out but that's what vacation is for our sick days. Walgreens on Vista Blvd is / has the very worst customer service in pharmacy. Approached a Pharmacy at 1:20pm . Waited while the girl with long black hair finished her phone call. Got to counter at 1:26 and advised Dr called in prescription. Gave med card and all information. They couldn't find phar plan information and advised this small amount of antibiotics was $95. I stated I just got this a day ago at Safeway for $19. Not under insurance. The girl said they were going to lunch now so I can wait. I said no I need it is there anything she can do, best price $40. Can she transfer to Safeway - not until after lunch we're closed. I was sweet , kind in my tone and asking. 1. She didn't even try to get a lower price - wasn't polite more matter of that's your problem. I advised her I wasn't upset with her but the price is really outrageous (in a good tone). She stated to me I'm used to being a punching bag. She's not happy in the first place. She's rough and unhappy in her reply's although you are trying to be sweet and kind . I never used her as a punching bag - why are you treating me this way????? I realize people are not always kind - but I was . I was only asking for help and all you could do was shut me down. 2. I go to Safeway and at 2 I went in to get them to call Walgreens to get my prescription. Walgreens didn't fax it over until 330pm. Although the pharmacist told Walgreens I was waiting for it - standing here and they already knew I was going to ask for it . And I called at 315pm to Walgreens politely asking could they please help as I've been standing here waiting . Eventually they did it - but why does it take Walgreens several calls from Safeway and me - when they already knew I was asking for it to be transferred? Safeway price $14. Walgreens you should be embarrassed by your employees being so unhappy and so rude with absolutely No Customer Service!!!! read more

The pharmacy is ALWAYS closed "due to an emergency" can never get prescriptions on time especially for antibiotics that are needed. Just has been really bad lately. Definitely switching pharmacies. I received 2 phone calls and a text message that my prescriptions were ready to be picked up. I come to the store and they are not ready. I have to wait 30 minutes for 2 prescriptions that I was told were ready for pick up. I asked the pharmacy tech as to why I received two call and a text about my prescriptions being ready when I'm fact they are not. She shrugged her shoulders and said "I don't know. But give us 30 minutes and it will be ready." Wtf?! She basically had no real answer the my question. This has happened twice before. Ridiculous and infuriating. read more

Customer service by some in the pharmacy is definitely lacking. The woman in the blue uniform with tattoos on her arms especially needs to be taught how to treat customers with respect. The only reason I rate them two stars instead of one is because another woman who initially greeted and helped me at the counter was very friendly and welcoming. This location is the same as any other location. All the stores are basically set up the same. A few isles may be in a different location but for the most part it is the same. The staff is super friendly and most will strike up a mini conversation with you at check out. I geeked out with one of the cashiers a while back about a StarTrek tattoo that I have on my hand. It was nice to have a conversation about something other than "hi, how are you"... We recently had our prescriptions transferred here from another location in another town and didn't have any issues. And having new prescriptions filled is easy. Haven't had any issues. The wait inside or through the drive through have been quick. read more

Two days ago stopped in to check to see if a prescription was ready. I was told "no but it will be on March 1. Come in on March 1." so today March 1, I drive 100 Plus miles to get the prescription that was promised. I was told that we can't pick up the March 1 prescription because February only have 28 days. The person who told me to come in was standing right there and I asked him and he said "I don't remember" They couldn't figure out how to refill the prescription. And then the pharmacist has the audacity to walk over and tell me " you can tell when the refill your prescription when you have two pills left.". I received a couple "I am sorry, we may have made a mistake." At no time was there empathy, at no time did they admit fault. And the guy who told me to be here on March 1, just stood there and wouldn't hold himself accountable. it's very clear that this Walgreens needs leadership and customer service training. read more

One word to look up. Elizabeth Holmes. If you have cable look up "Out For Blood in Silicon Valley". There always was a certain tension at Walgreens Pharmacy. After leaning they Invested 30 Million Dollars in a technology that promised patches of antibiotics to be delivered through the skin!!!!!!!! As a Pre-Med Student, this is a PHYSICAL IMPOSSIBILITY. Antibiotics must be swallowed or Injected. I found the Pharmacists overworked and constantly making mistakes. Back to the Elizabeth Holmes Scandal. People would have there blood drawn and dropped to what was called "The Edison Box". Named after another "fake it until you make it". Walgreens never looked inside the box. That's why they are open 24 hours a day. Go to CVS, you will be treated with the dignity and respect you deserve. read more

This is for the pharmacy not the store. The store itself is fine. So at this location vaccinations are by appointment only. But seriously it doesn't matter if you make an appointment for the vaccinations through the pharmacy because they will be very behind schedule anyways. I made an appointment for 5:15pm and didn't get the vaccination until 5:50 pm which I think is a very long wait to get one shot that takes less than 10 seconds to administer. If you show up on time you will still be late which is unfortunate if you are in a time crunch. They will try to get rid of the line before they help the appointments which I don't get. I understand things happen but this has happened to me before at this location so it was something I had to review. The line gets very long (inside and drive thru) and busy and the staff forgets you are waiting. I do feel bad for them because they do seem super short staff but it is very chaotic at this location. It doesn't matter what time you go it's always busy. Also for the vaccinations, you are supposed to fill out a form online but they make you fill it out again in store with the same exact questions because they can't pull it from the online system is what the lady said. Hopefully the system of receiving vaccinations and getting prescriptions gets better. The pharmacist himself is very nice and the pharmacy manager who administered my shot was also very nice. She did apologize for the wait. read more

A convenient drive up pharmacy, a film section to develope your camera film, or print them from your smart phone SD cards are available. There was one thing I did find at this location that I have not seen at other locations. Are you into Pop! Vinyl figures? Star wars fan? Check out the picture here. YES! the Imperial Guard!! I have been shopping at this Walgreens location for nearly 10 years now and I have never had a problem with the service, the prices or anything thing else with this store. They are always pleasant and always stocked. The reason for this 5 star review though is because my boyfriend and I want to give HUGE SHOUT OUTS to BETH AND JERRY! We came in about three different times on Saturday with about 12 different photo orders, some on metal and some on canvas and some just regular pics. They were super nice and went out of their way to help us. They didn't mind that we were going photo nuts and couldn't seem to get all of our orders in at once. Super awesome people. I had an vaccination appointment scheduled for 1145, arrived at 1130, filled out paperwork that I had already filled out online in order to "save time". Took a seat, waited till 1220, approached the window and asked the pharmacist if I could have my vaccination card back, which I had previously given them, and told him I had to leave. He was immediately defensive and bitchy, and said "you always have to wait at the doctor's office and I already have your vaccines drawn up. We have other things to do" I reminded him that we weren't in a doctor's office, and that I too had things to do. He gave me my card back, stating "I'm going to put in my notes that you are banned from this Walgreens, I don't appreciate this". No problem Sally. read more

DO NOT USE THE PHARMACY AT THIS LOCATION!!! When you walk or drive up to the pharmacy the staff is rude and inconsiderate. They don't even acknowledge customers when they are busy. They just let them wait. When you ring the bell to let them know you are there they just continue to ignore you. This has happened on several occasions and I have finally had enough, but am writing this in hopes that others don't have to endure the same clear lack of customer service at this Walgreens. Most poorly run pharmacy in Walgreens. Pulled up to the drive through following another car and was completely ignored. Pushed the button after five minutes and got a quick "be right with you" and quick hangup. Ten minutes later pushed the button and same response. I counted five employees in the pharmacy. Finally after fifteen minutes and another button push I was waited on. If they don't want people to use the drive up, close it down. I'm done with Walgreens. read more

I live in Sparks, NV. I am African American and we make up about 2.5 % of the population. Normally the people I encounter are nice and don't treat me like I am a piece of trash or they don't behave as if they want to refuse my service. I liked Walgreens because normally the employees are so nice employees and they were diverse. If felt comfortable there. Lately I noticed it is no longer that way. Yesterday I was in Walgreens to buy a few things and load a Chime card, which is free to do at Walgreens. The cashier called for a Manager's approval because of the amount I had to load. The "Manager" was called once and no one responded. The cashier called again and the "Manager" did not come. The Cashier had to go look for the "Manager". When the person finally comes out, her is rude!!!! The Cashier told her we needed her to stay because there will be two transactions. She barely acknowledged what he said...and was trying to just walk away...so I NICELY confirmed I needed to do two transactions...she looked at my with a disgusted look and told me "I heard him!" and proceeded to ignore me, as if I were not a paying customer. This woman has seen me in Walgreens several times. I was never rude or disrespectful to anyone. When she spoke to me rudely she acted as if I had no right speaking to her. My husband, who is Caucasian, noticed her being rude and he was not happy with her because I did nothing wrong and she treated me as if I were beneath her and that I should not address her. She is an much older woman about Boomer age. It turns out she was not even the "Manager" or "Assistant Manager", she was a "Lead". I wanted to get her full name, but I could only make out that her name started with a "K". She was hiding her name badge. I did not want to seem confrontational, because that is a label given to African-American women, so I sat there quiet and embarrassed. I could not believe her attitude towards me. She didn't apologize or anything. Instead she gave me and my husband dirty looks from the Photo section until we left. She did this in front of other Caucasian customers ..I was literally the only African American in the store at the time...I really did not know if I should write this review, but it has been bothering me the way she treated me. I think that people should be aware of her Customer Service so they are not subjected to the same awful treatment. I am so uncomfortable going into Walgreens because of her...normally everyone is so nice... despite my race, they treated me with respect. She did not. read more

I made a somewhat frantic call to this Walgreens from out of state last night after realizing that I forgot several important prescriptions at home. As my home pharmacy is a local chain not available at my weekend destination 5 hours away, I was more than a little nervous about going that long without the medications and not sure how to proceed (we were already three hours down the road!). I called this Walgreens hoping a pharmacist on duty would be willing to tell me how worried I should be to miss three doses of my particular medications. I was fortunate enough to talk with pharmacist Amber, who was incredibly friendly and helpful, despite my not being a Walgreens customer. She not only talked to me about the medications and her concerns about my not taking them, but told me how to manage my situation to get the prescription filled ASAP at my weekend location so I wouldn't have to miss more than one dose. Needless to say, I was very relieved. I would absolutely recommend for anyone to come here for help sorting out prescription medications or managing worries about interactions/forgotten medications. I went from panicked to super relieved in minutes. Thank you! read more

I get 5 prescriptions filled every month, sometimes more, which means I will be dealing with whatever pharmacy I'm using about once a week or so. The staff here is very nice and helpful, but I gave 3 stars and stopped going here for 2 main reasons. 1. It usually took an average of 4 hours to get a prescription filled! Geez! I get 3 of my meds 3 months at a time, so they will be there on file, but whether or not it's on file or a walk in, it was usually a 4 hour wait. I know from experience that is an excessive amount of time. The last time I had a prescription filled here and what was "The final straw" for me was when I called to have one of my meds that was on file filled. I called at noon and was told 4 hours. 4pm rolled around and not text saying it was ready. Another 2 hours went by, it's now 6pm and they closed at 7pm, and I HAD TO HAVE MY PRESCRIPTION THAT NIGHT! Finally, I was just completely irritated and drove up there. If I hadn't physically gone up to the pharmacy and politely demanded my prescription that was now in its sixth hour being filled, I would not have gotten it until the next day. I would have gotten very sick without this medication. When I asked as to why it took so long and required me coming into the store and all but throwing a fit I was told it was because they were "busy". Really? I can understand and I'm cool with 2 hours, 4 hours is pushing it, but I will patiently wait. However, 6 HOURS and then only getting it because I went up there and made a stank? NO. Just NO. I can't mess around with the medications I'm on and just not take them and the pharmacy staff knew this, too, but made NO effort to make sure it got done! 2. Their card/rewards program isn't that great. You only earn points for buying specific products, and usually only the Walgreens brand. Therefore, it's not only difficult to earn any significant amount of points, but it takes a long time and their "rewards" aren't very good in comparison to how much you have to earn to get anything. The Extracare Card at CVS and their Extrabucks rewards program just flat out blows Walgreens out of the water! I spend a lot of money on cosmetics, personal care, and seasonal items and shopping here I would get practically nothing back whereas at CVS I can get an average of $20 to $40 a month in Extrabucks! And I earn $5 for every 10 prescriptions I fill and I get $5 for every $50 I spend on Beauty and whatever Extracare deals they have going on that week. My record is $48 in Extrabucks at one time which I achieved last Christmas. I'm in the top 10% of customers at the Prater and McCarran store actually. Mom currently gets her Xarelto from this Walgreens location, and like I said, the pharmacy and store staff are all very nice and helpful, but that is all we go here for. It's a nice alternative and backup place, but unfortunately, will not be my main pharmacy of choice for the foreseeable future. If you just need the odd prescription filled or a gallon of milk, it's not a bad place to stop though. Also very neat and clean inside! read more

This Walgreens is definitely kept better than other ones in town. This one is by far the cleanest and the staff is fantastic! Every time I've gone in there, somebody has always been willing to help me. I don't go here to get my groceries or anything like that, but I love this place for prescriptions and photos! Filling your prescription here is as easy as it gets. Add to that they have photo printing service and a fair selection of gift items for those times when you need to buy something on-the-go for a party or other event and you failed to plan ahead well (lets face it, that's what happens). read more

The Pharmacy Manager at this Walgreens is extremely rude. He talks over you when you are trying to talk and get answers for an ongoing problem with the poor service. Then he hangs up on you when you have to try to talk over him to try to be heard. I have had an ongoing issue with a particular service in this Pharmacy. He tells me it is my responsibility to always call in to make sure they know to fill the prescription even though it's supposed to be on auto fill. He says that is why we are called a Team. Every single month they tell me the prescription is on auto fill and every single month it isn't. He told me it's not important enough for him to look into the matter. It's never really busy here. If I need one or two items, or need to stock up on makeup / bath supplies I come here for my shopping. Also I like how the drugstore has a drive-thru and that they always manage to keep the place very clean. So happy to have this place so close to home! read more

I read the reviews for this store location and the mentions of this store being short handed and the length of time on hold for a call are both situations that are often times out of the control of the employees. I have been a customer of this store for many years and I honestly have nothing negative to say about my shopping experiences. I worked retail my entire life and it is a difficult job so I have a better understanding of why the situations mentioned in other reviews happen. This Walgreens location deserves more than a five star rating mostly because they work as a team, try hard to remember their customers, keep the store neat and appealing and will do everything they can to please their customers. read more

I wish I could give the pharmacy NO stars. This is by far the WORST pharmacy I've ever been to in my life!! The attitudes not only on the employees but on the pharmacist was atrocious and nasty! The pharmacist had NO idea what they were doing. They not only gave me the wrong refill amount but the wrong quantity and when I tried to call and resolve my issue, the lovely pharmacist hung up on me. I had previously been a frequent customer of this store. However, a botched transaction and the aftermath of receiving some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced, has me writing this review. Human error is one thing, but correcting a mistake by setting up mock sales - as well as none of the people I dealt with (the Clerk, the Assistant Manager & the Store Manager), not once apologizing for the error or expressing any concern, other than the inconvenience it was causing them, is inexcusable. The details: I made a small purchase (about $9) over a month ago. On the same day, I returned to the store & the clerk approached me, saying that she'd neglected to ring me up, that I was not actually charged. In an effort to correct the problem, I agreed to find the matching items & ring up the sale (again). The next day, I found that a larger amount (over $50) was deducted from my debit card. This was apparently caused by the clerk neglecting to close out my sale(the first time), before starting the next one. In contacting Walgreens about the error, I was told the store could do nothing - that I should contact my bank. So ... I processed a dispute with my bank. However, due to the messiness of the (2) transactions, the bank informed me that this was a fraudulent claim - to attempt to get the refund directly from the store. I did that & after another very unprofessional process and a 30 min. wait, I did receive the cash back - from the Manager who even had difficulty counting out the correct amount to me in cash. Bottom line: I believe this store & its employees would benefit by receiving some basic Customer Service training. I've actually taught classes on the subject & have experienced many wonderful examples here in Sparks. This store is not one of them. There was no acknowledgement of the error the store made, the inconvenience to me (and my bank), or any assurance that the error would be made right - prior to much confusion and defensive behavior. For a large chain to be represented in this way is shameful. I've spent quite a lot of money in this store, but will never return. My recommendation to anyone reading this is to be aware of the details of your transactions here, making sure they're processed correctly - and hopefully, with some sincere appreciation & respect for their customers.
