I recently moved here from Newport NEWS and was serviced by the Walgreens on the corner of Denbigh Boulevard and Jefferson Avenue. I moved on this side of the water expecting this Walgreens to be just as friendly and more accommodating than the busy area where I'm from, The service has been less than poor and unprofessional, customer Service. They answer the phones like they don't like their jobs, as if they have an attitude that you even would even call them while they're trying to fill prescriptions, and have the audacity to act like you are the problem when you've been nothing but polite and kind. I just called to check on my prescription that I needed three weeks ago. It needed a prior authorization. I waited call today. I was told she couldn't find anything for me. Then when I told her the name of the medication , She finally found it. I asked her were you guys planning to tell me that it was approved or how does that work? It was as if I owed her an apology for asking, this has got to be the absolute worst customer service experience, most unprofessional pharmacy in the history of pharmacies. I'm not sure how these people interview when they first apply for these jobs, but I would like to be a fly on the wall. They need Customer Service classes because when we bring our hard earned money to you all (because insurance sucks,)we wait and we're courteous, warm and friendly, and we say hello we expect the same in return, is that not too much to ask for eye contact do better Walgreens!!!!!! Do Not take your prescriptions here. I would much rather go to Costco or Sam's Club. At this point, I would rather just drive back to the Walgreens in Denbigh. One out of 10. read more

I was in to pick up lisinoprl. When it was time to pick it up they didn't 90 days supply I was given 30 days I went back 30 days later, they have no record of it. So I couldn't get my 60 days supply. They owe me 60 days. They were very rude, not helpful. Beware they don't make any kind of notation when part of the perscription is picked up. As a healthcare provider, I experienced customer service of this pharmacy was go down hill. I was in this area since this pharmacy was not opened. I experienced one of the technicians was rude, unprofessional, unwillingly listen to customer's questions. The technician just wanted to answer the questions she thought I had. The technician also argued with the pharmacy manager. Even getting manager's attention , the manager and that technician walked away argued and dismissed and didn't address my concerns. ***GO TO CVS!!*** The customer service is abysmal. You'll be happier heading down to High Street in Portsmouth. SKIP WALGREENS ALTOGETHER! Especially the Bridge Rd location. The pharmacist is very unprofessional and so is her team. They fail to handle BASIC customer service issues and lack the skill to deliver compassionate service to customers they serve. Called in several prescriptions earlier in the week and was told they would be ready Friday. Went to pick them up on Sat. due to heavy rain on Fri. and didn't want to go out. Was told the pharmacy was closed due to the storm. We only had rain in this area so I don't understand the problem. I don't think any of the employees were coming to work from Florida. We contacted the store manager and told them the prescriptions were sitting there and just needed to be picked up. Was told again the pharmacy was closed and to go to another Walgreens. Since the prescriptions had already been filled, I doubt if another Walgreens would fill them again. One prescription is for heart medication which I need to take twice a day and am now out of and another is synthroid, , that I need to take every day, due to thyroid being removed and am also now out of. I am now suffering from a sever head ache and heart palpitations. I wonder if the lack of my meds has anything to do with that. This is not the first time I have had a problem with this store, but I promise, it will be the last time. They are not the only pharmacy available. They better rethink their customer service. Tonight after a frustrating encounter with the clerk who insisted repeatedly with indifference that I was placing my card wrong I asked to see the manager. The young lady who came up to help discovered the card reader wasn't working. Instead of an attitude she recommended we try the tap function. It worked and I thanked her. HORRIBLE! After YEARS of terrible service here, tonight was the final straw. After waiting for 10 minutes in line inside, I got in the drive thru. The pharmacist walked around the pharmacy for FIFTEEN MINUTES looking for my prescription which they, spoiler alert, LOST despite it being filled TODAY! She informed me to get BACK IN LINE and it would be ready by the time I got back. I understand that pharmacies are in rough shape post-pandemic but this is truly abhorrent. Last time I use a chain drugstore, I'm either going to switch all of my prescriptions to an online pharmacy or go with an independent pharmacy. Didn't even offer me a credit or anything. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! I've tried giving this pharmacy a chance at increasing their level of service but it just gets worst by the day. My last straw was when I came in to pick up my mom's prescription, I was told there was an error with the directions from the physician and that they had no way of contacting the physician. The physician's phone number, fax AND email are on the form. I called the physician while standing there and immediately got a hold of him. These people are lazy and rude. The drive thru is often close and the phone is almost impossible to reach anyone there. I'm moving everything over to Kroger or another local pharmacy. They should consider shutting down this location! read more

I needed to get a passport photo of myself and my fiancé overseas for the k-1 visa process, so the first place that came to mind was walgreens, they took my photo just fine but when it came to printing hers they wouldn't allow it do to policy, this added more stress than needed for this already stressful process and it led me to look at other options, thankfully CVS was able to print it out for me in the end, I'm very dissatisfied with walgreens though. read more

I've never had a problem at this Walgreens. Things usually ring up correctly. They usually are stocked with what I need. Prescriptions usually don't involve ridiculously long wait times. I'm not big on meds, so sometimes weeks will go by with them filled and waiting for me to pick up. When that happens, they personally call me and hold it for me. read more

Walgreens is pretty much a get it all in one spot store....on a much smaller scale than Wal-Mart or my new favorite Kroger Marketplace of course. Need some drugs? NO, not the illegal type - the kind you need as prescribed by your doctor.....but also a huge selection of over the counter and vitamins as well. Need some milk? Granted it's probably marked up exponentially, but if everything else is closed and you need milk for your crying baby - then this is your answer. Need Christmas (insert ANY Holiday here, actually) decorations? Yep, middle aisles. Need some makeup? Oh yeah, I love me some Neutrogena products. Need some beef jerky? No? How about turkey jerky? Ok, good. and then there's this......*drum roll please* I'm a sucker for things I see on TV. AS SEEN ON TV. Yes, I watch infomercials and I oooooh and aaaaaaaah and wish I had the gadget. Sadly they don't all work like they do on TV, but sometimes ya get lucky! The as seen on TV section is my favorite. They have J-animals, bacon bowls, Stuffz....do I have these things? Have you met me? Ok you haven't......but yes, yes I do. After Christmas, I might be in Walgreens in the Dog J-animals suit. read more

I looked online to replenish a Walgreen brand allergy product. The item was buy one, get one half price. They were out of stock online but the website allowed me to check store stock and the Bridge Road store had then in stock. The next morning Tuesday Sept 15, I stopped at the store but there was no indication of the buy one, get one half price. I ended up talking to the manager. We looked in the app and it appeared to me that under the store listing it still showed buy one, get one half off. The manager said they do not honor the online price. Even when I showed the manager I was on the store site and it showed the buy one, get one, he said it was not in the store sale items and he would not honor the price. This was less than the response I expected. He did say I could order it online for store pickup, but the online section would not allow me to order because it was out of stock online. By the way, I found allergy medication with the exact same ingredients online at Walmart and Amazon both places had better values than the normal retail price of the Walgreen brand. read more

I went there to pick up a prescription and this assistant in the pharmacy named Alyssa was very rude to me just because I needed to pay for my prescription and for my tissues on a separate receipts. She was in a bad mood the whole time as if we were bothering her, so when I asked her if I could pay for my tissues, she just rolled her eyes at me and after a brief pause that demonstrated her frustration, she condescendingly rang up the tissues. There were three enployees in the pharmacy and we were the only customers, but I still had to wait for at least 5 minutes at the register, so I was very surprised that she was in a bad mood since we were the ones looking at her going from one side to the other without any explanation as to why. After this, I'm not going back to any Walgreens, because I prefer to drive a few more miles than having to deal with this kind of service. read more

It's a drug store. And they are busy most of the time. However, they do have enough parking and I like the drive through pharmacy. The lady stocking the beauty area is super nice. She will order stuff if you need more, or tell you when to come back for stuff out of stock, and she will call out to the line up front that she's open to check out. Photo gal will also check you out. The pharmacy takes time though.....very busy and it's best to drop off and return. They have an auto pay thing and texts to update your refill status. And the reward points program is free....I just got $5 off my purchase when I hit enough points. Pretty cool. read more

He can say what ever he wants to I have no way to know he he is telling the truth. Why does it take almost 2 years. There is never enough of clerks to help customers every time I come there to put up my prescriptions. We are always told that we will be with you shortly. Yesterday that was said twice. I have never had a problem with any of the clerks they have always been very nice. They need more clerks so the customers have to wait. After talking to the pharmacist calling me. Waited over 10 minutes in the drive thru before even being acknowledged. When I asked if they were short handed, I was told it's always 1 tech and 1 pharmacist on the weekends. On top of the poor customer service at the window, we just found out that after years of the whole family filling prescriptions at Walgreens, they had wrong insurance member number for my wife and had been charging us full price for her medications.
