I had to stop using this location for various of reasons. 1.) Medication not available and we have to wait for a shipment. There's been times where I couldn't wait for this medication because it was urgent 2.) Filled prescription incorrectly 3.) They saved a card of mine and started automatically charging it without my consent. I have to spend extra time in line for them to reverse the action. 4.) I know Riteaide closed.And Walgreens has taken on many of those ppl.But take good care of us that have been patrons for decades. I have to call in 4 days bf my pain meds are due to make sure they have the brand that agrees with my gut.I have an autoimmune disease n many brands trigger drastic symptoms. So when I call as instructed by pharmacy Mgr they assume n telling very snotty that it's too early to fill.If they'd listened to me and not judge me they'd hear me ask to make sure there first will be enough to fill my script n 2 to have that brand I take.I don't need the attitude and be judged. I have had to ask for mgr.bc saud person is rude n don't want to be a help to me.one time she hung up on me when I used the same tone of voice she used on me.If I had a better n closer pharmacy to use I would. Should there be a timeline for their commitments then they are not meeting that timeline. Medication schedule gets delayed due to the fact that they can't process medications at the right time. Was able to schedule a covid/flu rapid test online for next day. When I arrived I waited for ten minutes with no one in front of me and then when I got to the window was told it would be a while because there was someone in front of me? About 3 minutes more of waiting and I was called to the next window to be told that neither tech was trained on how to give me a rapid test and recommended to go to another location. Huge waste of time. Shouldn't allow rapid test scheduling if you're not trained to do so. read more

Just had a baby and unable to walk due to a severe pelvis injury. I dropped my perscription off at 1130am being told 130pm it would be ready. I call to tell then my boyfriend is on the way and they said it was not ready. And asked my insurance I told then united healthcare. They said we don't do state insurance. I said it was not state it is through my employer. She again said we don't accept united healthcare. I said ok how much without insurance. She said we don't do that. I asked why they do not Ttld to a person dropping off and she said it wasn't her that accepted it. Then I asked if I do not have insurance you all don't fill the script? She got confused and got the pharmacist on. Pharmacist said there was a misunderstanding and got my insurance information and couldn't find it. I was told to have my boyfriend bring in a picture of my insurance card and then they will fill it. My elderly mother went through the drive through to pick up allergy medicine that she needs, only to be told that they were doing it "only during covid," and that she'd have to go into the store, RISKING EXPOSURE TO COVID. Is covid OVER now? No need to worry anymore? Since there have been 58k cases in the last 60 days, I think not. I'm very unhappy about this. At midnight, I needed some Aquaphor for my recently done tattoo, Walmart was too far and I didn't think Walgreens was open but looked like it was, I stepped in, got what I need and checked out. As for the details, I walked in, I looked up at the signs on the ceiling and located my ointment right away without hestiation like most places, I have to flag down a employee or look through the whole store. read more

They had good sale on Pepsi ever now and then, they also had a good sale on the pods we use for the washer- but they were out of them- the MJR did give me a rain check for it, and looked on his computer and found a Walgrens that did had some left- so must say he went out of his way to try and help. Worst pharmacy ever! Hold and wait times: Totally understaffed with longest wait times ever. I'm on hold on phone again right now for 1 hour and 17 minutes, first with 3, then 2 callers ahead of me, so I could be on hold for another 2 hours! I don't even try to stand in the store line, with typically an hour or longer wait. This is infuriating especially for disabled and sick and injured people (see other reviews by pregnant women, people who are liable to get heart problems, etc etc). Don't try to save gas at the drive through either by shutting off and restarting, while you sit for an hour or more. I drained my battery there once, mostly sitting for over an hour. Absolutely maddening is the announcement how sorry they are every 30 seconds, instead of just playing more than 20 seconds of music. I guess they are too cheap to even get 15 minutes of hold music! That is pretty sorry alright! Prescription filling and insurance muck-ups: Since United Healthcare forces us to Walgreens with many plans, this should not be a problem, but the system has glitches where they deny insurance until you yell at the pharmacist! The pharmacy techs or assistants or whatever frequently get hung up on the insurance works, and the Walgreens computer system then indicates a "provider" denial, the provider not being your doctor, but the insurance! I would really like to have a word with the programmers who created this glitch loaded system. I have other very good pharmacies much closer, but United "Healthcare" pays only to Walgreens with my plan. This forced pharmacy steering should be investigated and be made illegal, but UH is making money hand over fist! I will do my best to find another Medicare prescription plan with another company that pays other pharmacies this enrolment period for sure. BTW: Don't blame the employees, because I worked retail myself before. The refill and insurance problems are a major corporate IT problem. About some people mentioning they cannot get help and employees run past them: When it's your break time, you have to RUN out of some companies, they are so bad to employees, otherwise customers desperate for help stop you, you lose your break, plus you get yelled at for punching in late after the break you actually didn't get, so you lose money on whatever meager pay they give you for helping customers. read more

I switched my pharmacy from Wal-Mart to Walgreens because I figured I'd get better service. Less waiting, less issues. Well, that was true at first... But the last few times I've gone to pick up an rx in the drive thru and in person the waits are way too long. And these are rx that were sent in more than 24 hours before! My last trio, they hadn't filled it because the Dr wrote 90 day supply and insurance only covers 30 at a time. But instead of contacting me or the Dr, or just fixing it (like they have in the past) they instead did nothing. So when I came to pick it up they told me itd be a 30 min wait because they need to fill it then. Why hadn't they just done the 30 days automatically? Who knows. read more

Always out of my prescription. Excuses are their warehouse is out. Does have drive thru if you dont mind waiting 30 min to an hour in line. One time I was really sick and got a prescription from urgent care. When I went to fill it after a 5 hour nap, not ready. I was told they usually take 24 hours to fill but they would have it ready for me in another 2 hours because I requested it. They do not have good business practices. I am sure they make tons of money they should do some serious quality control and process improvement and also hire more staff. read more

The pharmacy wait time is ridiculous!! I use the walgreen app which I love but every time I have used the drive through at this pharmacy it has been 20-40 min wait. Today the wait was 25 min and this was after I waited 30 min earlier only to be told the pharmacist needs to look at my meds first and they asked me to come in or drive around again. I left and cane back. There was one car inline it still took 20 minutes to get to the window and another 8 min to get the scripts. This pharmacy is unorganized and slow. I will be switching to Riye Aid thanks to this walgreens read more

Fast forward several years later, I decided to give them another shot... Nothing has changed! Upon pulling into the drive thru, I could barely make out what was being said because the speaker was so distorted. I could only make out that they don't accept my insurance. Beyond that I couldn't tell what she said, so I drove off. I was so irritated at that point that I just didn't bother going inside. So, I had to drive ten miles to my own home, search which pharmacy takes my insurance. I ended up finding one and when I called they not only assisted, but included extra detail! It was bad enough that Walgreens was originally created for military and they stopped accepting Tri-Care (primary military insurance), and now they are picky about which government insurance they accept (I don't mean medicaid/medicare either)! I will no longer support a business that cannot support the basic insurance that they began their business for! read more

The pharmacy staff at this location are sub par at best. I had one very good initial experience here with a pharmacist I have not seen since and after that everything went downhill. I used to always have good experiences with Walgreens where I used to live but this is the second Tacoma location that has an awful pharmacy. My prescriptions are pre paid and I just come pick them up, takes 5 minutes maximum, but I came in recently and stood in line for 30 minutes before I could get my prescriptions. Insane! Very bad service. Also just went in and my prescription had ended up going to another pharmacy by mistake, so they transferred them and said come back in 30 minutes. I come back in 45, wait in line for almost 10 minutes, whoops they weren't billed to your insurance and now the pharmacist had to review them before Th why can be filled, come back in 15 more minutes. Seriously? It would be one thing if that information was conveyed nicely, but the girl, who was also working when I stood in line waiting for 30 minutes that other day, is quite rude and has no sense of customer service. It also seems that this location is chronically under staffed, just to make matters worse. I will probably switch pharmacies again. read more

I will NEVER shop the Pac ave and military Rd (152nd) Walgreens ever again!... This poor review has been festering for a very long time. We have to use Walgreen (per our insurance company) We are moving our business to another less convenient location. My last visit on Sat. Nov 3. 2018. Was "the straw that broke the camels back". The Management treated me like garbage that day. We're tried talking to Them the Management for a very long time on several occasions. The lack of help, especially when you are at back of store it sucks... Being physically diabled It takes enough energy to walk to back of store. Only to have to walk back to front of store then back to the back again is using more energy on my body and afib. heart. Are you getting the picture yet? Then when you finally get someone. You get treated VERY rudely, but, not the clerk who finally came to help you. But, part of the management team!!!. We have had no sucess talking to the head manager at that store. Goes in one ear and out the other. On many occasion also have been standing in line talking to other disgruntled customers. All of which complain about same thing. Lack of help, lack of some easier way to get help. I even tried in the past, to try knocking on the doors at back of the store to try and get some help. This is to no avail. Mostly all you hear is laughing. Now I don't begrudge anyone a break or Meetng time. But when 3 or 4 or more come out on sales floor all go one direction laughing etc. Not even looking around THEIR store to see if ANYONE needs help!!! What is a person suppose to do "YELL FROM THE BACK I NEED HELP". The line is so long at pharmacy to ask there also drive up is a joke all in it's own. I have been told while trying to get for things other than perscrptions. "YOU HAVE TO WAIT YOUR TURN" as I stand 6 or more deep in line.I also have been on hold at home waiting to see if a script. Is in have heard the canned recording " Your business is important to us, please stay on the line someone will be right with you" I heard that ever 15 seconds for 45min. One other time I made a hash mark for each time statement was said, 93 times. But, like I said this is the worst store in the chain. May I also say, I am also a senior nearing 70yrs old. Have lived in Washington. (A resident of Spanaway for 25yrs.) Used this particular Walgreens for many many years. We are Done!!! Will probably never even hear from anyone from corporate. Wish I could give "zero". Absolutely horrible, and only getting worse. Wait times inside or drive through are a joke - you can read a novel. Often do not have meds in stock. Now, don't even bother calling. I called twice tonight. After a wait, some guy picked up and said "We'll be with you in a moment." NO, they won't. Goes to music. Then goes to ringing, and more ringing, and more rings. Then - hangs up! This place needs to adequately staff (I already spoke with a "regional director" about this location) the joint or shut it down. Aggravating as hell. I use it because it is right on my way home. Called to see if they have a certain medication there. All I needed was a simple yes or no. Got transferred three times on the first time, with three different people asking me the same questions, then was put on hold and hung up on. Called again to ask the same question, got transferred twice, then hung up on again. Must be nothing but idiots with no customer service skills working there. read more

Walgreen's has a FedEx pick up twice a day. I was thinking, perfect I'll drop off my urgent/ overnight package before their scheduled pick up time and it'll go out today. A day and a half later I've still not gotten any tracking updates so I call the store and my package is still sitting there. I watched the Fed Ex man walk into the Walgreen's right as I was leaving. The staff member on the phone reassured me Fed Ex had been there at least twice since I dropped off my package. So than why is an Express, overnight package still sitting at your store?!? Furious.
