Tonight I was on hold with the pharmacy for 34 minutes. When I told the person who finally answered the phone, she didn't apologize but rather gave a lot of attitude. I asked for her name and she hung up on me. When I called to talk to a manager, there was only a shift leader who said there was nothing she could do. This is why Walgreens, and all these other businesses with poor customer service, are doomed to go out of business. I'll be transferring all my scripts to a mail service so I never have to tolerate such unprofessionalism again. read more

I am grateful to Remington R., the young sharp pharmacist on duty when I went to pick up a pain medication my oral surgeon called in.............It was my good fortune that Remington noticed the high dosage prescribed for me. He looked in my records and saw I had never taken that medication or that dosage, so he called my oral surgeon and together they decided it was far too high a dosage, and the dosage was scaled back. Had I taken the high dosage, which most certainly would have had more than noticeable side effects, my health could have been compromised. When I went to pick up another prescription last week, I had the pleasure of meeting Remington and was able to thank him for his quick thinking, his can do right now attitude that saved me countless health compromises. Good for you, Walgreens......whomever hired this young man, you made a smart choice. Was scheduled to have my Covid and flu vaccines at 11:10. At 11:40 I asked how much longer and clerk said "Other people are still waiting before you, so it takes a long time". I asked how much longer and clerk became hostile and threw a box down and walked away, she told another clerk and this clerk yelled across the store and said "!You could go to CRV". Both clerks were hostile and combative. I spoke to the manager about this behavior. I will never go back to Walgreens in Webster Groves and let others know about this read more

My family has been using this pharmacy for 30+ years and up until recently no complaints ever. However - there is a newer technician and I know if I'm on hold for longer than 15 minutes I will hear her voice at the end of the line. When I get anyone else on the line (generally after the normal wait time of 2 mins) they are amazing as always - friendly, efficient, etc - but for some reason when I talk to this particular technician she seems to question my scripts and dosage - even if I've already spoken with another technician the day before and calling with a followup question. Nothing has changed with my medication or dosage for years so it really unnerves me when she 1. Has a tone like I am bothering her by calling (I have to call for this particular medication) 2. Seems to question my treatment/imply that I'm trying to do something sketchy. I get that any pharmacist should be on the lookout for peculiarities with controlled substances - but I have 1. A long standing diagnosis 2. A long history on file for being prescribed this medication 3. A doctor I see regularly for said diagnosis and treatment 4. A prescription written monthly by this doctor I am always super polite and patient even when she is being rude so this review is regrettably my outlet. I never do this, but after a couple months of these interactions I just can't take it. Will probably switch pharmacies to not feel this way. read more

If negative stars were possible I would give it a -5 stars to this pharmacy, department, staff, and store manager. The experience with customer service with this pharmacy was outrageous!! The prescription for post surgery antibiotic my friend needed was dropped off at the pharmacy at around 4 PM. Then we tried to call them a little later starting from 6 PM until 9 PM to enquire if the medication was ready to be picked up but nobody answered the phone for a duration of 3 hours!!!! When the patient finally drove to the store around 9:30 PM and asked about the status of the prescription, the pharmacy assistant and later pharmacist informed the patient that the medication is not ready because they were very busy earlier (5 hours in a row!). There was no one in line or needing assistance, clearly showing a lack of concern, care, and fast action to take care of the customers. When the patient asked how long it will take from now to prepare the medicine, pharmacist replied that the store may not have the needed ingredients, and they need to do inventory. After 20 minutes, the pharmacist came back, notifying that the medication couldn't be prepared at this store. Then my friend asked to call other Walgreens stores around to check who may be able to get medicine ready now (it was around 10 PM already!). The pharmacist handed the prescription back and directed the patient to go to Walgreens at 9807 Watson Road, Crestwood, and refused to call to the store at Crestwood or to transfer prescription there electronically or by fax to save the time to customer to obtain proscribed medication. By the time my friend reached another store, it was already closed. The entire way of handling the patient was so unprofessional. The store manager didn't help to resolve the situation either when was asked to step in for help, and refused to hand business cards of the staff who was on duty to be reported to the corporate office. The pharmacist and store manager did not bother apologizing once for the misconduct, considering their actions as normal business conduct. read more

This has to be the slowest Walgreens in the world. Especially if you bypass the front of the store and hit the clinic or the pharmacy. And it's not because they're not trying, but they always seem really really understaffed. If you make the mistake of going tot he pharmacy on a Saturday afternoon you will be in a line 6 people deep while you watch three people in the pharmacy run around like crazy people trying to fill everyone's requests. With a huge in-store line, a drive-through and the amount of elderly people in this area, it is laughable that they don't have the pharmacy better staffed. During the week there are usually just two workers. When I went to drop off a prescription for some antibiotics for my son I was told it would take 45 minutes to an hour if I wanted to wait in store. That's insane. There is no reason for that. The Take Care Clinic is nice and I like the staff there but again, at any given moment when you walk by there will be at least 3 people waiting for one person (who's doing check-in, vitals and the diagnosis). The store is clean and they have a great selection but they need to be better staffed. I'm trying to find another Walgreens not too far away so I can pick-up my prescriptions there because I'm so tired of dealing with the really long wait. read more

What can I say? Walgreens has everything. Medicine? Check. Food? Check. Booze? Check. White elephant party gifts? Check. Yep, they have awesome tacky holiday decor, suitable for all of your white elephant needs. It's in Webster, so nice location. By my house, so I always go here. The pharmacy always is accurate about the time to fill my prescriptions. Extra bonus? Download the Walgreens app for your Droid and instead of having to call in a refill, you can SCAN THE BARCODE of your meds and they will refill it without you having to enter any information! After my new insurance kicked in, I filled my prescriptions here for a year before finding out that they DON'T TAKE MY INSURANCE and the whole time I was paying full price, not my co-pays. I had given the pharmacy my insurance card, so I was royally screwed. My daughter still uses this pharmacy and the main problem - as the other reviewers have said - is the pharmacy is extremely busy and understaffed. This location has the longest wait in town, next to Affton. The staff is nice, but you will literally wait 15-30 minutes in line. read more

This review is for the pharmacy. I have used Walgreens pharmacies for about 15 years and never had so many issues until I started going to this location. I've filled there four times so far and have encountered issues every time. The first time, my prescription refill was delayed because I was "transferring" it from another Walgreens. That's not a thing. You can refill at any Walgreens in the app seamlessly, except apparently if it's this location. They said it would be "a few minutes" and then made me wait 45 minutes. I could have gone home and come back if I'd known! The second time, I accidentally filled at kingshighway and called Watson to correct it. This should have been a single phone call. They claimed I had to call kingshighway, so I did, and they said no, I had to call Watson. I had to call Watson two more times before they finally fixed it. The next time, my doctor called in the Rx to the wrong location. I had my dr's office call Watson to fix this, to no avail. I then had to make at least four calls to watson and kingshighway to get it fixed. Then, the biggest issue was that they only put 30 pills in a bottle marked as 90 pills. They shorted me two thirds of my prescription! That's never happened to me before. Thankfully, they fixed it. Then two nights ago, I ordered refills for the next morning. Yesterday I saw "action needed," which I hoped against hope they would resolve themselves. Nope! I called this morning, and they said it was because they had to open a new package or it was in storage or something, but they could go ahead and fill it now. Why then did I have to call? Is that the secret to this Walgreens? They will only fill prescriptions if you use the app and then call to harass them into actually filling them? Anyway, I said I had never heard of that, and she said, "it happens every time; you just don't know about it." Well, why do I know about it now? How come every other Walgreens can fill prescriptions without me holding their hand and/or nagging them every step of the way? Needless to say, I will be using CVS or trekking to a different Walgreens from now on! read more

I went to Walgreens today for a flu shot. Four different employees could not figure out how to enter me into the records. I'm a veteran. They tried for an hour when I finally got frustrated and left. The overnight pharmacist (I don't know his name but he is a middle aged African American male with glasses) at the Webster Groves Walgreens is a jerk and I just called corporate on him. I've now been told 3 different dates at which I can get my meds refilled. When I questioned him about the inconsistencies, he got really snappy at me and threatened not to fill any of my meds. This is not the first time he has been rude and he consistently takes about 10 minutes to pick up the phone. Now keep in mind this is the overnight pharmacy. The store is basically deserted at this time (12:15 AM). Day staff works very hard, almost to the point that I think they could use a second set of hands but they still pick up the phone in half the time it takes the overnight pharmacist. read more

Hi, this is my neighborhood Walgreens. The past few days my husband came down with a rash. I suggested we go to the Walgreens Clinic to get it checked out; he was hesitant. My case was that he could see an APRN, and then immediately get a prescription filled while we were there if he needed one - close to home and convenient for care and prescription filling. I decided to go along with him and here is how it went. He did get a prescription; however the pharmacy was unable to fill it. The woman behind the counter notified my husband that it could not be filled. He then asked if she could call another Walgreens to see if they could fill it - with this being a rash, he wanted to get his script filled ASAP. She obliged but then after 10 mins informed us that the other Walgreens could not fill it either, and the soonest we could get it filled would be Monday, which was 3 days later. So, I asked if there was another recommendation or a similar item that could be substituted. She said she didn't know, and that we would have to ask the doctor. Now, not only do I work in healthcare, but I also have had the experience of my PCP ordering a script that was not a conventional option, to which the pharmacist made their recommendation, called my doctor, straightened it out, and then called me to let me know that an alternative has been recommended and would I be OK with the alternate script. So, I once again asked if there was an alternative that could be recommended and asked for approval from the APRN. The lady once again told me that they have nothing to do with the clinics and that if we wanted a different prescription, we would have to ask the APRN ourselves. I am absolutely disappointed with the lack of customer service and laziness that was displayed by this personnel. I work in healthcare, but am not clinical, however I do believe it is the within the job scope of the Pharmacist to make a recommendation and communicate this back to the ordering provider. NOT the job of the patient to take that information back to their provider and ask for something else. If we had not been standing right there, I highly doubt the pharmacy would have called us to tell us that they can't fill the script and to contact our doctor. Secondly, there was a blonde woman working behind the counter. In our 10 min wait, she was extremely rude to several of the elderly customers. I understand that elderly people don't understand their benefits, that they can be cranky and hard to explain things to - and that there is a high chance that she has to deal with this on a regular basis. It is still no excuse in my eyes to literally have zero empathy with your customers, not offer any kind of solution and to repeat to them you don't know anything and they will have to contact their insurance company, and then roll your eyes once they leave. Both of these put together were extremely extremely disappointing - not only to witness but the pure basis of my recommendation of the clinic to my husband,and to several others, has been based on the convenience factor of the clinic and pharmacy together. I am just so disgusted and honestly frustrated by the lack of customer service and lack of empathy we experienced and also witnessed. I don't think I can in good conscience get my scripts filled at this location anymore. It is surprising to have witnessed this given the day and age we live in of the customer experience. read more

Pharmacy extremely busy: VERY under-staffed, but I would not trust any other pharmacy, including other Walgreens. I have been a customer for 10 years. Unfortunately, it is extremely busy - both the pharmacy and clinic. I have waited at the clinic 3 hours. I have never seen anyone work any harder than the pharmacy staff, especially the pharmacy manager - while customers are yelling at them. read more

I've been going to this Walgreens ever since I can remember. The pharmacy treats us nicely, but sometimes the staff in general(depending on what time of day) can be either friendly, or rather indifferent. Today was one of those indifferent days. Usually, this Walgreens is busy and I have to wait a long time. I grew up in St. Louis, and never found the attitudes of the store people to be that friendly. When I need something from the pharmacy, I generally get a friendly service. Today appeared to be a slow day because I saw no line and very few customers. I went to get an over the counter medicine for my aging parent, and simply asked one of the employees, who was dressed like the store manager. I asked him if a certain item was buy one get the other half off. He replied by saying that whatever the sign said. Then the same person was checking me out, there was some problem with the credit card machine. There was only one customer behind doing this annoying whistle like he was waiting for me to go. Well, my card went through, and then the when my receipt came out, he quickly said handed me the receipt without asking if I wanted in the bag or not, and said have a nice day. It was his tone of voice that really bothered me. I have to wonder how many others this Sunday afternoon manager has treated in this manner. It's a good thing there's another Walgreens and a brand new CVS nearby. Maybe I'll just go there if my business isn't appreciated. I've been to Walgreens in the east and west coast, but I don't recall being treated this badly. And I seem to recall the employes from this Webster Groves Walgreens 20 years ago having an attitude problem. Keep your store policy. Have your laws, but the customer is King. read more
