Pretty much everything about this store is awful except for Frank the pharmacist. He is an absolute gem. A bright star in a dark night sky. I manage both my parents' healthcare and they have many issues from Alzheimer's to diabetes to high blood pressure. There are countless prescriptions. When I get Frank on the phone I feel like I've hit the lottery because he genuinely knows what's going on and makes sure everything goes seamlessly. And he does this very kindly and patiently. This guy needs to be promoted or at the very least he needs a large raise. I just told him he's "doing God's work" when I hung up, and I genuinely believe this. Frank is an asset to Walgreens and I hope he is recognized for his excellent efforts. read more

Walgreens located on utopia blvd. is a real dump. ! Customer service sucks, the mental lady behind the counter is the worst cashier and reflects her qualities same as Walgreens Store. Formerly a Rite Aid, this Walgreens will have its grand opening on 10/25/19 (pharmacy is still open until then). Hopefully this conversion from a Rite Aid to a Walgreens means an upgrade to the photo department. UPDATE: The conversion to a Walgreens did lead to a new photo department! I sent a photo order through the Walgreens mobile app and unfortunately the order wasn't ready at the estimated time. When I stopped into the store, the store manager apologized and he personally printed out my photos for me. They're still working on training up the staff to run the photo department, but the photo print quality was great. read more

It's probably a Covid supply chain issue, but they're recently often out of stock of many items. Also, I prefer CVS for their larger selection of organic/chemical free products. I like their $7 off $25 coupons but wish there were more of the items I need, i.e. cleaning products in stock to purchase. The store is fairly big but empty. The pharmacy staff are friendly and efficient. read more

Most of them are the same: staffed by kids (except the pharmacy) mediocre inventory management, prices on the high side unless you work their coupons or "rewards" systems. Thanks to consolidation we have lots of the same around the area, masquerading as choice, but none of it worth going out of your way for. At least this one is pretty clean and bright, without the smelly, worn-out carpet. read more

What used to be Rite Aid for the longest time is now Walgreens! I've used this establishment for many different occasions and the staff all seem very friendly to some aspect. With the new Walgreens here, passport and government photo services are now offered and available. I had called ahead of time back in December of 2019 just to double check and confirm their passport photo services (since they had just reopened as Walgreens at that time). I called, confirmed and walked in the next day to take my photos. When I had walked in, it was clean and organized as usual with about three employees (not including the pharmacists) on shift. I went up to the counter stating I wanted passport photos for a Visa, but the employee had to phone someone else to come do the job since she had never taken on such an inquiry before. I wasn't in a rush and I understood that the previous Rite Aid may not have had this service so the employees weren't all trained for it so it wasn't a big deal as long as someone could do it! When a different employee came, she ALSO stated that she didn't know how to do it. At this point, I still wasn't upset in any way but was kind of awkward in a sense that I wanted a photo and not sure if I should just leave or.... So they finally called up the manager and he proceeded to take my photo. (Thank goodness) Afterwards, photo editing to have it comply with guidelines, though I felt that it could have been done more professionally but I made sure to double check my photo and ask them to redo some editing if I knew it didn't hold up to guidelines. Overall, I received my photos and they were appropriate for my documentation to go through! It is extremely Convenient to have a Walgreens in this neighborhood as the pharmacists here are nice too (I sometimes get prescriptions sent here). In times during this pandemic, though Walgreens may not be a full blown supermarket, I think it's a great emergency stop to pick up some necessities! read more

what a horrible store. too bad walgreens didn't shut them down. what a disservice to the neighborhood. horrible food selection and different prices than the app FOR THAT STORE. nasty kids that have no patience for older customers. treated like a child by some shift manager. ordered on the app so they couldn't screw around with the prices. although items i wanted gave me the choice to substitute they claimed i couldn't. wouldn't let me buy the substitute and was told i couldn't get a substitute. been shopping this store since it was a genovese. never again. walgreens just another corporate monopoly. read more

Normally I rave about Walgreens and their pharmacy. Unfortunately, today the pharmacy technician, Kevin, was working. He has always avoided working but today was especially bad! He sees me on line and walks out of his area. There's a customer online for approximately 10 minutes ahead of me and a line is forming. The pharmacist has to call him back to his post. He has seen me at least 15 times and still can't remember my name. He can't find the medication. I have several items and he just pushes them to me so I ask him if he's going to give me a bag and he says I have to ask. I told him pharmacy always gives me a bag and they never charge me and he says he's charging me. I tell him that's fine but it's not fine to keep me waiting while he leaves. Kevin tells me he had to go to the bathroom and I said not for 10 minutes and he says it's downstairs. He's laughing!!! In a world where there is no shortage of intelligent people and jobs, he does not need this one and is not an accurate representation of Walgreen's!!! read more
