Designers include Beyond Skin, Sam Ubhi, Ally Capellino, Best Behavior, Hartford, Anna Nygards and Anouk. If you see something you like and it doesn't quite fit, they also provide alterations and styling advice. If they could make me a size smaller, I'd buy my whole wardrobe from there!

Since I have been back in the Uk for my visit I have been 4 times to this store. The first time I was just browsing for baby clothes and toys, second and forth time it was to use the baby change facility and third time was for a makeover at the Benefit counter. On the second visit I went to the baby changing facility as the store I had planned to visit had suffered a flood in their room. Of course the toilets, baby change facility and childrens clothes and toys are all on the top floor, this has to be the main thing which would tip them to a 4.5 star review instead of 5 given that the lift/elevator is quite slow and there is no way you can get up that far with the use of stairs! The baby changing facilities are great, smelly bin/trash can aside of course (but that is a given wherever there are changing facilities). In this one there is a toilet and sink so you can go relieve yourself at the same time and if you have toddlers/small children there are mini ones for them too in there! There is a great selection of baby and childrens clothes available here, ladies clothing, mens clothing, accessories, homeware and of course a café! Debenhams are quite possibly the best of department stores in regards to their selection and availability within towns. Not many towns are without a Debenhams and that is one of the reasons why when we got married almost 5 years ago we had a wedding list with them. In addition to the registry availability you will find there is a personal shopper service available. I can spend hours in this store, or would if my little lady would let me! However I stand corrected, and although I don't know anything about the origins of the actual name, I no longer associate this place with pounded raw beef. This is another Lewes clothes shop aimed at middle aged women. This one has a bit more of a distinctive, ethnic-y vibe than some of the others; unlike Darcey or Renwick Clarke which just put me in mind of three piece suites and pristine lawns, Capriccio has slightly more bohemian feel. They sell those striped, handwoven basket bags from Kenya that I associate with the 80s, mostly because my mum used to have one. The clothing labels have names like 'Masai,' 'Sahara' and 'Oska,' and feature drapey, crepey tunics, and other unstructured pieces. They have some nice dressing gowns in ethnic prints, and also a nice selection of hats, including a stretchy straw hat that folds down flat. I am currently in the market of a nice sun hat, so I tried one on, but at £40 it was more than I wanted to spend. They also sell espadrilles and chunky jewellery pieces.

The prices weren't too high considering one of the tags said the item had been imported from Italy. Accessories included a nice range of dainty, silver pieces to loud, colourful beads on necklaces and bracelets. There were some stylish hats - beret style, mostly - and also a selection of homemade cards. So, a bit out of place, but a lovely little shop I'd recommend taking a peek at.

You can find a few things here and there to complete your closet or pick up your regular items you've run out of like their double pack face wipes for a pound (my one most favourite item). The location itself is not very big and I find then men's section quite small here. The women's floor has a pretty good variety. I always love the makeup section but it is a bit small here too. The queues to pay are never too busy. I find they move quite fast. I also like looking in around the register area for last minute cheap items. If I were to return to Crawley I would be back to Primark to poke around and see what I can find. On this trip I did end up finding a few good items to bring home. Be prepared to pick up items you didn't even intend to buy. Like the 4 tubes of lipstick I picked up!!
