They laid down boards to prevent damage as they drove their equipment over the grounds. They came very prepared, with a cherry picker, a clam, chipper, etc. They also cleaned very nicely. In fact, you could barely tell that a tree had come down once they were finished. In about three hours, they were finished. Steve and his crew were friendly and easy to work with. He had an explanation that makes sense to me. He doesn't like setting up his Saturday estimate appointments far in advance because that's the only day he can schedule a crane for large removal jobs. So sometimes the crane availability interferes with appointments. I found the owner, Walt, to be very friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoyed the half an hour I spent talking to him. He's extremely knowledgeable about removing trees. Like some of the other companies, this outfit seems to mostly specialize in large tree removal. They're extremely expensive for more mundane things like shrub trimming. My only complaint was the eye popping quote! I was quoted $4285.00 for hand pruning the sides of 400 Hawthorne Cockspur shrubs. (These are planted a foot & a half apart, forming a continuous hedge around my entire property.) He quoted less for electric trimming. I did a little experiment and it took me 2 minutes or less to hand prune both sides of one shrub. And I'm an old slightly disabled amateur. If I hire Living Water, that works out to $5.36 per minute or $321.38 per hour for pruning. That's big money - more than a Neurologist who went to school for 12 years! I'd definitely consider Living Water for tree removal, especially if it's something tricky...like working around fences or landscaping or neighbors.
