Gave us a really fair price and a few hours later their team showed up, cut down a MASSIVE tree we had in our backyard that was dying and leaning towards the house. I wouldn't know the quality of their service. They ghosted me after first contact. Called them and asked if they were interested in giving a quote to take down a couple dead oaks. Pleasant woman on the phone took all my details, and said "Rich will contact you within a couple hours" He texted me within the hour. Asked me if i was available the next day. I told them I was and asked what time they were thinking about coming by. No response. Texted them the next day. It was Saturday. No response. I waited around a bit. No response. It's Monday. I'm updating my review and upgrading AAA Tree Care to 4 stars. I heard from the owner through Yelp and he set an appointment with me. Richard apologized for not returning my message and he had a reasonable explanation. Mistakes happen, right? I found AAA (Richard) to be very nice, reliable, and informative. I really enjoyed talking to him. He told me a couple of things about my rows of Hawthorne Cockspur shrubs that I didn't know. He also sent me a quote just a few short hours after we met. I think AAA is more geared towards trees and more appropriately used for tree removal & tree trimming. My only complaint was the quote for shrub trimming...but...giving them the benefit of the doubt...I don't think this is really their thing or their specialty. I got a quote of $3800 for cutting back 400 shrubs (on the sides) that are planted around my property lines at 1 1/2 feet apart (touching each other in a continuous line). I did a little experiment after my sticker shock and reading the quote. It took me about 1 minute to trim both sides of one shrub with an electric hedge trimmer. If I paid AAA for electric trimming (assuming that they can go as fast as I can - an amateur), that works out to labor of $9.50 per minute or $570.00 per hour. Wow! That's more than a cardiologist! It took me about 2 minutes to trim both sides of one shrub by hand. If I paid AAA for handing trimming, that works out to labor of $4.75 per minute or $285.00 per hour!
