When I first began preparing our wedding I was looking for something different for our venue. We…read morewere planning to have our outdoor wedding ceremony and a reception on my parent's property and so I began the painful process of looking for a marquee for the reception. Most were typical, white plastic with windows cut out and draping material offered. I definitely knew that was not what we were looking for. As I began to search more and google was offering things like Yurts or giant plastic overthrow sheets...we came across Katalane! I was SO excited when we found them; they were exactly what we were looking for. Something fresh, unique and striking. We knew it would make the perfect addition to our wedding. Katalane was very helpful from the very first email enquiry I sent. David got back to me very quickly with suggestions, prices, seating charts and more. As the day got closer he offered advice on decoration, arranged seating and was willing to answer any little questions I asked. David was extremely helpful, competent and understanding, making the lead up to our wedding day a lot less stressful. The company even made furniture just in time for our wedding, as we were unable to find this beautiful wooden furniture anywhere else. The day before the wedding, David and his team arrived to set up our wedding tipi. It was really exciting to see it all come together and it looked absolutely beautiful in the bush and suited our wedding theme and decorations perfectly. David went above and beyond, also letting us borrow some fairy lights, which looked beautiful around the edge of the tipi. On our wedding day, our guests and we absolutely loved the tipi. People couldn't believe it and kept asking where we had hired it. It really made our day special. For the reception, the tipi had a cozy, comfortable and warm atmosphere, which really added to the vibe of the evening. The wooden furniture was perfect and guests loved sitting on the bench seats in the marquee. It was a magical day in a magical venue. I couldn't recommend Katalane highly enough. They were fantastic and the Tipi-style marquee was amazing. 10 out of 10

BEWARE! I booked this for my wedding, 4 hour package for $700. After about 1.5hrs the machine…read morebroke down and we were told it would be fixed in 5 mins. Half an hour later it was working again, but then broke down shortly after. i would estimate it was broken for almost half the night. Everytime i grabbed a friend to get photos with, i was told '5 mins'. They only got it working again just before midnight so i could get one photo with my husband before they left. After 2 months and 5 harassing emails later, I eventually received the disk of the photos that were taken. A loose disk arrived in a postpak, no case, no label to indicate what it was. I can only assume the disk held most of the photos because i know of at least one photo from the night that was not on the disk. Stay right away, even if they are a little bit cheaper than some other companies, its not worth it if the machine will be broken for half the night.

Its not unusual for someone to come around the corner and find me up on the desk hanging one thing or another from the ceiling, or casually blowing up balloons and hiding them under my desk as I go about the rest of my work. Sydney Party Decorations first opened up during the lead up to Christmas last year. It was a large underground hall filled with everything beautiful, tacky, and Christmas, and I bought it all. My cubicle looked amazing. I thought that the shop was specialized and would close down after the holiday, but to my delight it has remained open and just as full of other glorious finds. There's heaps of costumes, wigs, gift bags, wrapping, balloons and decorations in a range of themes, and rotating holiday items as appropriate (I took Easter to a new level this year thanks to SPD). I find SPD has a broader range than the other nearby $2 shops and is definitely worth a visit if you need to spruce up your cubicle or grab an unbranded Guy Fieri (or "celebrity chef") wig.

She wanted to plan her son Rufus' 5 year old birthday party and originally thought of doing a Cars themed party but wanted to do something a little different and get the kids to interact and be active. Kids today are so focused on their ipads and iphones and sometimes forget to just run around and have fun. She chose the sports themed party in the park and Ben, one of the staff members took care of the whole thing. There were about 10 5-6 year olds and the entertainment lasted for about an hour and a half. The kids had a great time and the parents basically just got to sit back and enjoy the nice day outside. There's a good variety of themes to choose from for kids of all ages. Pretty cool concept!

The staff here helpful enough. They had a wide range of stock that we were welcomed to look through and there were also a few items that you could purchase. There is also a variety shop right next door where you can find cheap accessories for your outfit and the man who works there is super friendly and helpful. Overall, the costume we rented was a hit! Personally if you are looking for something specific I would recommend Jesters. However, if you are only dressing up for a theme like the 80's or 70's I would suggest any Vinnies or Salvos would probably get the job done just the same.
