We first shopped at Lowes, Home Depot and the local discount flooring retailers. While their product was 1/2 the cost of Red Mountain the installation was much more. This was because we were replacing carpeting and tile (almost 1000 sq ft). They float the flooring which means demo of tile. Also since we had 32 feet (from kitchen, to dining and family rooms), a transition is required in the middle of rooms which was a show stopper. We went with Red Mountain because: 1) The Karndean LVP we chose looks like real wood flooring. The planks are varying widths. We chose option of having thin black strips to further accentuate the planks (see pictures). 2) They removed our old carpeting and installed OSB to bring the floor to the same level as our old tile. 3) No tile demo was needed. A substrate was applied over the tile and OSB 4) For a small additional cost, we got a custom medallion in the entry way. Customer Service - This is a family run business. Jody & Michelle manage the store and Travis & Kelsey do the installation. They all are professional and just nice folks to do business with. Travis and Kelsey arrived on time, worked quickly, moved all our furniture, minimized any inconvenience by working in sections and did a spectacular job. We are not associated with Red Mountain in any way just very satisfied customers. When we replace the rest of our carpet, we will not hesitate to use Red Mountain again.

Communication was great between me and the installer, but communication stopped a few days after. Talked with Nate and he told me the installer was mad because I kept bugging about issues I had when my husband was saying everything was fine. First off I'm the one who's name is on the bill, who made the appointment and paid for it. My number is the only one Nate and the installer had. My husband has had a stroke (which I shouldn't have to explain) he is unable to speak well and cannot relay information correct do to brain damage. There was a piece of vinyl flooring that was defective and I spoke to the installer about this But it was brushed off. They came to look at it and literally blamed me for it. This would be a miracle since no other piece around it was damaged. They made me feel horrible and I was super let down. I still have concerns about some things, and have no one to trust. I paid a lot of money for this and it was a huge step for me since we've never done anything this big in over 20 years. They did fix it but it doesn't feel good to not be happy with the job.

Defective boards were installed throughout the floor. When this was brought to their attention, Bell Hardwood Floors refused to replace the defective material and instead offered to fill visible defects with wax. That is not an acceptable or professional repair and does not correct the problem. During the installation, significant damage was also caused to our kitchen cabinets. At Bell Hardwood Floors' request, I obtained a written repair estimate from a qualified cabinet refinishing professional. The estimated cost to properly repair the damage is approximately $12,000. After receiving the estimate, the owner, Johnathan, stated the amount was too high and then said they would deny responsibility for the damage entirely, despite admitting he is not an expert in cabinet refinishing. All of this is documented. The estimate came from an actual expert. Refusing to accept professional documentation while disclaiming expertise is not ethical or responsible business behavior. As a disabled veteran, I expected honesty, accountability, and basic professionalism. Instead, I was met with deflection, refusal to stand behind workmanship, and an apparent attempt to avoid responsibility once damage was discovered. I am now left with no option but to pursue legal action. Take your money elsewhere. This company is not worth the headache, the financial risk, or the stress that comes when something goes wrong.
