We are elated with the new flooring that Red Mountain installed!!…read more We chose Karndean Luxury Vinyl Planking (LVP). We first shopped at Lowes, Home Depot and the local discount flooring retailers. While their product was 1/2 the cost of Red Mountain the installation was much more. This was because we were replacing carpeting and tile (almost 1000 sq ft). They float the flooring which means demo of tile. Also since we had 32 feet (from kitchen, to dining and family rooms), a transition is required in the middle of rooms which was a show stopper. We went with Red Mountain because: 1) The Karndean LVP we chose looks like real wood flooring. The planks are varying widths. We chose option of having thin black strips to further accentuate the planks (see pictures). 2) They removed our old carpeting and installed OSB to bring the floor to the same level as our old tile. 3) No tile demo was needed. A substrate was applied over the tile and OSB 4) For a small additional cost, we got a custom medallion in the entry way. Customer Service - This is a family run business. Jody & Michelle manage the store and Travis & Kelsey do the installation. They all are professional and just nice folks to do business with. Travis and Kelsey arrived on time, worked quickly, moved all our furniture, minimized any inconvenience by working in sections and did a spectacular job. We are not associated with Red Mountain in any way just very satisfied customers. When we replace the rest of our carpet, we will not hesitate to use Red Mountain again.

We recently completed a kitchen remodel through Lowe's. The process from planning through…read morecountertop selection went smoothly. However, the countertop installation with Rock Solid Granite & Tile did not meet expectations. Despite the "What to Expect" document stating that customers may view their slab beforehand, I was never given that opportunity. My countertop measures 104 inches, and the manufacturer lists slab lengths at 113 inches. Even so, the installers placed a seam approximately two feet from the end of the counter--directly in a primary work area and above the dishwasher, where heat and moisture are common concerns. When asked about the placement, the installer dismissed my concerns, stating it was standard practice. At my request, the owner of Rock Solid--the installation company--visited the site. He insisted the seam was "perfect." When I asked why the seam was necessary given the slab length, he responded that Lowe's "doesn't care about you or me," and that going directly through his company would have provided better options and education. He further stated he could place seams anywhere because "it's in the contract." This experience was disappointing. Regardless of where a customer purchases their countertop, they should expect quality workmanship and service. Based on my experience, customers in Eastern Idaho should be aware that ordering countertops through Lowe's or Home Depot may result in substandard installation work.

They are coming back out to even out the long side that was cut crooked to make it straight. they will cut and polish it which will make it about 1/2 more inch shorter. if i was going to order a counter top that was 8 inches over i would have to pay one price if i was going to order that same counter to at 7 1/4 inches over i would pay a cheaper price. they will not surely reimburse me for the shorter counter top nor the inconvenience they are causing me. they have not addressed the two shorter sides either. what a mess this is! it makes me sick!

Actually the order from the other never came in and we finally just cancelled the order. So we are given a date for the carpet to arrive at Carpet one...... didn't happen. Installation was postponed for weeks later. They scheduled the installation for 10 am. We moved all of our furniture off the carpet stuffing bathrooms and kitchen with furniture. On the very day of scheduled installation and right at 10 a.m. they call to postpone for the next. I went into the store to make my feelings heard. They then agreed to show up a couple of hours later. They removed the old carpet and pad and only installed the new pad, leaving us with exposed tack strips and our furniture still stacked up. Absolutely not what we were expecting. This is only three rooms! I'm guessing that it wasn't enough of a job to apply full effort at it. Until tomorrow or possibly even later we will be enjoying our freshly laid padding and tack strips. Thank Carpet none.
