When I left, I scanned the piece of paper, and scanned my credit card, and it charged me the exact correct amount! It was all automatic, and I did not have to speak to or deal with an attendant! Isn't the 21st-century great? We were there on a Thursday afternoon, and the downtown area was definitely hopping. We had no trouble getting in or out. The garage was conveniently located near to the downtown area. Coincidence? I think not. This is such a great garage I'm sure that when the age of George Jetson comes, this parking garage will be perfect for flying cars. Except the entry and exit will be at the top.

It's large enough that I've never found it full (same caveat). It's incredibly convenient to reach coming from the north or south. There are street-level exits onto Rankin and Walnut, and apparently a bridge over to the Civic Center on Haywood. The Rankin exit is a block and a half from plenty of good food and coffee on Lexington. The Walnut exit's half a block from Malaprop's & Chocolate Fetish, a block and a half from the Woolworth Walk, and roughly two blocks from Grove Arcade, College St., and Wall St. with all sorts of great food. It's conveniently a little farther from the Thirsty Monk, Jack of the Wood, etc. The chill in the winter might help if you're visiting those. The location is great for a quick lunch & coffee stop. Ok, the caveat. This is the Civic Center's garage. If there's an event going on, event rules apply. The price is higher, and the garage will run out of spots. But that's understandable. I've only encountered that once, and it was later in the evening than I'd like to admit.

I love when car washes have 'stations' set up for you to continue to wash the interior of your vehicle once you go through the primary wash. This place has it. The wash itself has three different tiers of washes that you can do, and it is on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for, and what's great is if you feel the first one was insufficient, they'll let you go through again at no extra charge. It's only about a mile from I-26 / US 74. If coming from the highway, take exit 33 for NC 191 / Blue Ridge Parkway. On a Sunday morning around 11am, this gas station and convenience store were busy with a variety of customers including families with children and out-of-towners like us. We even ran into our Airbnb hosts. I guess this place is befitting of its name. I'd never heard of the Hot Spot chain before this visit. At the time of writing this review, there are about 40 locations in the Carolinas. They're mostly in South Carolina, with multiple locations in the greater Greenville, Spartanburg, and Asheville areas. In North Carolina, I spend most of my time in the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) and Triad (Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point). There are no Hot Spots in those areas. I pass through Greenville and Spartanburg regularly on my trips to and from Georgia. However, I almost always fill up at a QuikTrip along I-85. It looks like there are only a couple Hot Spots along I-85 on that stretch. This Hot Spot has eight pumps. Apart from the branding, I can't say too much separates this place from other gas stations and convenience stores. It's run-of-the-mill, but also A-OK. I'd fill up here again. The price for premium fuel was in line with other more expensive gas stations like BP and Shell. The property felt clean and safe enough.
