Dirty carpets
Megan N.

The first time I came here about 7 years ago I was so impressed with the cleanliness of this place. In those 7 years things have gotten dirtier and smellier than I remembered. I love the set up where the little kids can play in the middle, but it's hard for me to trust the sanitation of the mats and slides when the tops of the slides and the cute decorations are dulled by layer of dust. I like the security set up. Kids and parents are required to wear wristbands and they're are compared and removed before leaving the building.

Air conditioning doesn't work. Allows grown ups to play on the inflatables. Expensive pizza.

Backyard Terrors Dinosaur Park

Backyard Terrors Dinosaur Park

This is a great little stop. Fun for all ages. You walk through what seems like a mile of trails…read morewith a different dinosaur every few steps. There is information on each species and hands-on activities like dusting for dinosaur prints. Everything is on the honor system so your donation goes in at the beginning but they also have a gift shop which is really great considering that no one is there watching. It restores my faith and humanity to know that people are so honest. It does say this is a dog friendly activity, but a tied up barking dog on the other side of the fence made part of the journey a little bit difficult for my small dog. She was almost as frightened by the neighbor's dog as I was of some of the exhibits I went through that had sound and scared the heck out of me. They don't call it backyard terriers for nothing :) but it's all in fun. Don't be afraid of the parking even though it can get a little tight. We had fun and this is definitely an affordable way to kill some time and keep the kids busy while they learn.

It was free with a suggested 5 dollar donation. We donated before we knew what we were getting into but darn it, we were SO IMPRESSED!!! There must have been 50 dinos over acres and acres of land. I got in a good mile of walking there. What a fun way to spend an hour or two!

There are several different tees to choose from, of course, but using the UdIsc app helps. Like many disc golf course courses, this is also bike path trail so you do have to watch out for that. Although this was not an issue for us whatsoever and never has been. Some people were also walking their dogs and doing other things here as well. This is a huge park. I think there were people swimming in another area. All free. Easy access. Good parking. Will definitely return next time I'm in Johnson City.

We were here for a softball tournament and overall thought the park was quite nice. Since we had…read morethe 8 o'clock a.m. game, we arrived at the crack of dawn as the sun rose. Parking at that time was not a problem as we were the 1st ones there. There are 4 diamonds in the quad and the entry gate was staffed by a tournament person. The narrow pathway was used by both those with tournament passes, those having to pay at the gate, and those exiting the quad. Needless to say, it was not a good traffic flow and also not good in the times of a pandemic. I also noted that the pricing was very high. The quad itself is very nice. There are bleachers on both sides of all 4 fields as well as plenty of room for spectators who bring their own chairs. There is a building in the middle which serves as the press room with views to all 4 quads and the ability to manage the scoreboards. The scoreboards were all functional for a change but the scorekeeper was very late in tracking scores for each play. The dugouts were also very nice and the fields well kept. While we were there they had grounds crew working each field between games. A nice touch! Since we got there so early, I had plenty of time to walk while the team warmed up. As it turns out, I walked around most of the park. It was a bit hilly walking up by the monument and administrative building then a steep incline down the back side to the playground area and water. It also looked like there was a space for performances and other organized activities. I finished my walk with a lap around the fields and saw there was also a 5th field in addition to a possible soccer and lacrosse field or football fields to the side. Very nice facilities indeed! Because I came and went between games I was concerned upon return about finding a parking space. The games were well spaced out and people were coming and going, I had no problem finding an open spot. It was not as good as the front row by the gate we got at the crack of dawn, but it was fine all the same. Tomorrow we will play at a different field but I hope to return to this park later in the week. The fact that it had running water in the restrooms and indoor plumbing inside the quad as well as other facilities throughout the park, made it quite convenient and pleasant to be at.

That was disappointing that the staff couldn't divide and conquer so that it could stay open. The map of the park wasn't the best and as a state park, would've thought it would be better. However, it's relatively small so unlikely for most people to get lost. The map didn't even indicate that there was a numbered path to follow. I guess if the people hadn't been in a rush to close for lunch they would've told us that. We tried to find each marker but we also don't know how many there were cause again, the map didn't indicate them at all. Nice park to walk around, picnic, and just relax.

Because this made my childhood spark a love for our History here, I come here quite often as an adult. The museum is very interesting and although it's not the largest exhibit, they definitely keep you wowed. Also, the trail is beautiful. It's very fun and relaxing to walk a trail surrounded by nature. Not to mention, the water next to the trail is so beautiful and there's always ducks chilling out. Their garden in the center of the park is so beautiful and the amount of wild life (squirrels, rabbits, birds, etc) is amazing. It's so cute, too! I actually enjoy taking photos here with my camera! I do a lot of photoshoots here and this is a wonderful spot because there's such an abundance of locations. It's a perfect spot for photographers during every season! The "town" where they do most of the re-enactments is so beautiful. It's very interesting as well to see how we used to live so many years ago. The staff is very friendly when you go inside of the museum and are very helpful if you have any questions. I love this place, it will always hold a special place in my heart.

Me and my wife recently came here during thanksgiving week to see what this place is like. This place was absolutely awesome for what it was! We didn't have a dog but they were welcoming of that. The people that come here are absolutely friendly and they seem like regulars that come here. This is such a great social event where everyone gets to me everyone and it's way better than going to a sit-down establishment. Even though is an outdoor place there's at least a shelter where you're indoors by the bar and you got heat keeping you warm. Restrooms were very clean , the food is absolutely astounding. This place has non alcoholic beverages as well if you do not want to drink. Staff here was very friendly and everyone here is down to earth. Highly recommend visiting this place if you have a chance. Kind of like your kids before you send them to school! But as you know we travel and go to dog parks, a little over 2,000 so far across the country. With the exception of one just outside of Tulsa Oklahoma and one just outside of Durango that has always been the rules, but there have been exceptions. So when someone I met at the dog park told me they had worked here and that the collar tag would be sufficient, I signed up. But when I drove up the young man that met me at the gate told me I would need proof other than the tag? And I was looking forward to having something to eat hahaha anyway, having spent the majority of my adult life running car dealerships I can certainly appreciate or disapprove of the fact that as I was getting back in my car to leave disappointedly the young man pointed out to me that I could drive across town if I really wanted to spend some money at one of their stores? A for effort but F on timing... So go online register your dog and do all the other stuff and wait until you get the email. Do not believe anyone that tells you they worked here and that isn't required. YoungLady did not have her service vest on and I offered to let them look at my phone to verify that she is registered and vaccinated according to the service that provided her. So there may be some confusion there, but more than one person told me I should be okay before I got here:-( they do have a handicap spot right by the gate!!
