Been there a million times. Even though it's changed alot through the year's it's a beautiful place.

This park is amazing! We ended up here after a long road trip and needed to stretch our legs and let my son run out some of his energy. We had lunch here on top of a hill with plenty of picnic tables and public grilling spots that overlook the beautiful lake. This is also where the first tee is for their frisbee golf course. There's a massive playground here with swings, monkey bars, sand pits and a huge walking trails for both kids and adults. There's also a walking trail that's themed after the book, "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe". This includes an actual wardrobe that kids can walk through and start the story trail with accompanying book themed statues, play areas, and even talking signs along the path that help explain the story of the book. The bathrooms here were super clean and the there is tons of parking available. We will be stopping here on our next road trip to VA! read more

We came to this park just as the rain was letting up, and the animals were out! We saw cranes, ducks, and a cluster of about six deer right in front of the visitors' center. This land is named "Warriors Path" because it was an actual warpath used during the fights between the Iroquois and the Cherokee. The park was deeded to Tennessee in 1950. It has an inclusive playground for those with disabilities, boating, fishing, 94 campsites, 10 miles of biking trails, a disc gold course, and an 18 hole golf course. We saw a ton of wildlife and enjoyed getting to look around at what this park has to offer. read more

An excellent park along the I-81 corridor. Stopped with family on vacation and went there for a lunch break. Extremely nice, clean and accessible playground for kids to burn off extra energy. One you stop once, this will be a go to stop for relaxing breaks on the road. Don't forget to leave a donation to keep it going. Well worth the time. read more

First camping trip to Warrior's Path State Park. We stayed for a long weekend since we were attending a wedding in the area. Plenty to do at this park. Amenities include the lake, swimming pool, fishing, boating, disc golf, an 18 hole golf course, riding stables, and miles of hiking trails. We didn't get to take advantage of all of the amenities due to the amount of time spent with wedding weekend activities. We plan to return though. read more

Campground is nice, power (50 amp, 30 amp, 20 household), water faucet, bring your own hose. Each site has a cement picnic table, firepit, and hibachi. You have a buy wood from the park store. We went straight to our lot as the store was closed when we arrived & no one answers the phone #s listed online. One line says enter your code (no code given when made reservations). If you make reservations, online site is easy to use but no way to change or cancel reservations online, u have to call, but no one answers, so minus a star. Lots of locals camp here & the first right lots are very close together. I can'r reverse well with our tiny trailer so I picked a spot that was longer & nearer to bath/showers. Both bathrooms & showers were clean but no hot water when i went around 8 pm, it was so humid it didn't matter much but if you want hot showers, that may not happen. There's a boat ramp for campers only. It was a short walk from our site. Not really a swimming lake as their are so many speeding boats & jet skies. Canoe paddlers get rocked by waves from boaters. Dogs can swim there but it can smell like gas, be noisy, & sometimes motor residue by shore water on day 2 not as clean & less noise on day1, late in day. We didn't go to the other side of park, hiked a little in the camp area. It wasn't supposed to rain but day 2 rained & it was really hazy. You need to keep your own trash, bring bags & bucket with cover. Then dump it at the end/dump stations yourself. For the price per nite, it was a nice stay, & if you go to Duck island and explore the rest of the park, its better then the higher cost private parks like KOA etc. We plan to be back. Like that its open year-round. Want to kayak & fish next time! read more

Warrior's Path State Park is pretty cool.... It's a popular destination in the area for both locals and out of towners, so because of that it's hit or miss when it comes to other human beings you may encounter. Nothing they can do to control the bad apples, so it is what it is. There is A LOT I do here. A lot. Plenty of hiking trails for both beginners and hard core crowds, swimming, community events, etc. Can also do paddle boat or kayaking, fishing, and great place to take your dogs to I imagine (I don't have a dog). I mainly come here for the camping though and have been here quite a few times for that. My camping trips are typically last minute and for some reason they are rarely booked up on a moments notice (except obviously on holidays). The campground area, specifically the overflow area since I do tent camping, is pretty decent. Clean restrooms, and fairly private with an accessible trailhead. I say fairly private because your actual camp site isn't private, but people tend to mind their own business so that's a good thing. Grounds crew also come by here and there to make sure everything is good, control noise, and keep things tidy. It's not the best campground by far, but it's nice because it's convenient... just a heads up, it is close to roads so you'll hear cars. If I was looking for something more remote then I would not come here but for a quick camping trip to get away from regular life it fits the bill. read more

We had the opportunity to camp at Warrior's Path for a long weekend. We were in town for a wedding in Johnson City. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to stay for $28 a night. We booked our site well in advance to ensure we got the space we wanted. We stayed in site 25. It was very spacious. It has 50/30 and water hookups. The water hookup came with a pressure regulator. Keep that in mind if you bring yours along. The park has a great lake, pool, playgrounds, marina, 18 hole golf course, and stables. It has a little bit of everything. It is about 10-15 minutes off I-26, so not bad. You can be at a grocery store or restaurant within 10 minutes. Bathhouses were clean and well maintained. I won't hesitate to stay there again when in town. read more

We had a wonderful time at the overflow camping area over Memorial Day Weekend. The restrooms are very well kept and updated. The overflow camping area is perfect for tent camping because it is much quieter and only a short walking distance to the pool and other activities. read more

Great place to get away to walk the trails or have a picnic. If you're close enough it's a cool place to take your lunch break and relax.

The playground is always over flowing with kids. It does not seem very limited with covid.However with fall changes there is no better place to be than at Warriors Park and in that general area. read more

This is a great fun and family friendly park. I went fishing and my wife went on a walk around the path. They have kayak and pedal boat rentals available. I haven't tried the golf course yet but I hear it is alright. read more

It is a nice, local get away with beautiful scenery. We like taking dinner out to the picnic tables to eat while overlooking the lake. Walking around duck island is fun for us and our dog. I love the reflection of the autumn colored leaves in the water!! read more

Kingsport has very few qualities worthy of attracting out-of-towners, but one is great landscape. From large mountainous peaks, to the Holston river and its local tributaries, it offers excellent scenic views in most parts of the city. One area in particular, is Warriors Path State Park. The park is nestled in a heavily wooded area right outside of town and has sections of the park right up against the water. Although it can get crowded at times, it is also very easy to find solitude in various sections of the park. It has ideal accommodations such as more than adequate parking, new playground, paved jogging loops, biking/ hiking trails, disc golf course, campgrounds, camping shelters, boat slips, pedal boat rentals, etc. Pretty much everything you would want to get the most out of a day trip. In addition to the above, there is also a golf course and horse stables for horseback riding/ lessons located elsewhere on the campgrounds. Local events are held on site on various dates. The park is conveniently located off a side road of Ft. Henry Dr, near I-81. Park hours range from 7am - 10pm. This is such a good park for children of all ages. My two year old grandson can play for hours. It has soft landings in the even of inevitable falls. I recommend this park highly. It's usually well attended but lots of room and shade. read more

Visiting from our of town....checking out the AWESOME playground!!! Signage and locating playground on the GPS can be a little tricky finding it but there were always plenty of helpful people to give us directions to playground. This is a very family oriented location. It has a beautifully decorated park for children of most ages! It has a paddle boats and etc to rent. You can even take a dip in the lake and maybe even go fishing too! Great shaded picnic areas most are already reserved so the rest are first come first serve. The BEST childrens playground Ive ever been to. SO much to do and see. After playing we had a picnic in the recreation area - super spacious and clean. I think the $5 per person ($3 if camping) pool entrance is steep for a visitor - our party of 7 (only 4 swimmers) decided to skip the $35 fee and head home. A wonderful place!! So many people running, playing volleyball, picnicking, shooting hoops, etc. Just lovely. read more

This review is for the golf area. Great crew maintains the fairways...always super nice also! Me and buddy play there 18 holes every week and with the players card it's only $24 with a cart! We chose to stay at this campground because my husbands dive group had a dive in the area. We had a group of 14 people including 4 children. Also we wanted a campground near water so everyone could swim. An added bonus was the pool. Unfortunately we were incredibly disappointed. First impression of the campground was that the campsites are right on top of each other. Who wants to have someone's campfire right behind where they are sleeping? Secondly, our row was right next to a busy road. So instead of falling asleep to the sounds of nature we got to listen to the sounds of traffic. Oh and the train that went through every night after midnight blowing its whistle loudly with the wheels making a loud screeching sound as it passed. My children loved being woken up by that. The road through the campsites goes right past the tents. So headlights and loud exhausts going past all night long. Apparently there are no rules regarding noise or courtesy at night. Our first day there our children were most excited for the pool. After paying almost $70 for 2 campsites for 2 nights we did not expect to be charged extra to use a park amenity. $5 per adult and $3 per child. Are you kidding me? No military or veteran discounts either despite being a state park. I guess the great state of Tennessee isn't thankful towards the veterans who have kept this country safe. The next day we walked up a trail and found a beach area. Unfortunately it was covered in dead fish and broken glass. The smell was atrocious. It was similar to raw sewage. The water was frothy with bacteria from the decaying fish carcasses. I could not let my children swim there. I got no response to my complaint about the disgusting condition of the beach on their Facebook page. Thankfully the quarry we were going to for the scuba diving was clean so they could swim. Needless to say, we will not be back to this campground. There are many other campgrounds in the area to choose from the next time our dove group visits. read more

Worse campground we ever stayed at. Tent sites were rv sites no room for two tents camp site had a lot of trash on it when we checked in. Water leak which ran though site. Bench to table was broken. Pool was closed. Camp store and marinia people were not very friendly. read more

Warriors park could be one of the best parks anywhere but needs sewer in the campground. Grounds also need trees trimmed and facilities upgraded The marina could be a happening place but needs much updating and music to draw people in.
